Total Bases

Adrian Beltre
While Dallas Keuchel isn't terrible against righty batters, I'm still buying Beltre on the righty/lefty platoon split that he's made his bones on over the last couple of years. This season he's been raking against lefties with an OPS well over .900 and I like his chances of racking up some total bases today in a hitter's park. There are a bunch of players with solid

Mark Trumbo
He's another guy our system really likes and especially gets on when he faces lefties. We might be overbuying on the guy, but in baseball you play the percentages and he has a lot going for him today. Jorge de la Rosa has spent a career getting blasted by righty bats with a lifetime .800 OPS against him. Trumbo hits lefties real well and should be able to do damage today.

Hits

Billy Butler
Speaking of guys who get blasted by righty bats, TJ House has really struggled on that side of the split. A bunch of Royals are in play because of this today and I like Butler because he has solid rate stats against lefties. The LD% is a little lower than I'd like and he does take walks, but House pitches to contact and I like Butler getting his bat on the ball today.

Jose Altuve
Have him out here so much that I feel like I could just copy and paste random sentences from my other writeups and be on my way. Been then I figured that would take longer so screw it. The contact rate is ridiculous and matches up perfectly with Nick Martinez today. Altuve only strikes out 7% of the time and walks 5% against righties. That leaves 88% of his other at bats getting the ball in play. Nick Martinez sucks. Don't fade Altuve here.

Strikeouts

Madison Bumgarner
Been on a crushing tour lately with a near perfect game last time around. He's been spectacular and I think he keeps it going today against the Brewers. Despite their righty-heavy lineup, the Brew Crew is below average against lefties. The ballpark helps as AT&T Park plays to pitchers which limits out of hand games to some degree. He's shown he can reach double digit K's in a game, especially if he keeps his walks down. That allows him to go later into affairs and I like his chances of hitting 7-9 K's today against the Brewers.

Liriano
This one is your upside play on the day. The Reds are bad against lefties for sure and strike out at a healthy clip. Liriano has shown he can rack up strikeouts quickly. The problem is that he needs to do it quickly because it's so hard for him to stick around in games because of the walk rate. That being said, he could roll through the Reds' order the first two times and have a bunch of K's to thank for it.
