Pitchers

Early Games
Stephen Strasburg -

Francisco Liriano -

Late Games
Jeff Samardzija -

Consider Jake Peavy

Catchers

Early Games
Buster Posey - FD 3900 DK 3900 DD 9800 DFSTR 4000
This is assuming he plays of course. He sat out yesterday, but could be back in the lineup tonight. And let's hope he is because he faces one of the worst pitchers in the league in Eric Stults. Stults has a negative WAR on the season. Yeah. Posey meanwhile has continued his success against lefties with an .851 OPS and .372 wOBA on the season in that split. Again, here's to hoping he plays.

Late Games
Couple of solid options here.
Salvador Perez - FD 2300 DK 3400 DD 7000 DFSTR 3300
John Danks is someone we've picked on all season long and have been relatively successful doing so. Perez has struggled against lefties this season, but some of that is Babip related as he's about .100 points off his career average in that split. Coming very cheap against a bad pitcher in a great hitter's park.

Jonathan Lucroy - FD 2800 DK 4000 DD 8850 DFSTR 4800
A lot of Tsuyoshi Wada's success this season has been because of some super luck against lefties. He's much worse against righties and has allowed a .760 OPS against that split. Lucroy's been steady eddie this season and has always been better against lefties. Price is still very much in the buy zone and he's been a deal for a while now.

First Basemen

Early Games
Edwin Encarnacion - FD 4100 DK 5400 DD 11700 DFSTR 11500
Wei-Yin Chen isn't a bad pitcher, but this is a bad matchup for the guy. The ballpark favors bats and E5 favors crushing lefties hopes and dreams. He has a .389 wOBA against southpaws to go with an OPS close to .900. Chen has allowed a .750 OPS to righties this season and the the Bautista/ E5 combo could do some damage.

Consider Steve Pearce

Late Games
Freddie Freeman - FD 2900 DK 4200 DD 9650 DFSTR 3000
A.J. Burnett is significantly worse against lefties both this season and over the last couple of years. Freeman remains a bargain considering his power upside and has been one of the best hitters in the league against righty pitching with an .880 OPS and 149 wRC+.

Jose Abreu - FD 3500 DK 4600 DD 11100 DFSTR 4600
Luck thy name is Danny Duffy. Duffy's xFIP is trailing his ERA by about two whole runs thanks to an unsustainable Babip against. He's got a plus four xFIP against righties and while Abreu's had some luck of his own in this split, this is still a plus matchup for the Cuban.

Second Basemen

Early Games
Asdrubal Cabrera - FD 2300 DK 3600 DD 7400 DFSTR 3100
He isn't good, but this slate is brutal for second basemen. Basically what you are doing here is getting a guy for cheap against a subpar pitcher in Eovaldi. Not much else to say except that I'm looking to go as cheap as possible at second base on the early slate. It's just bad. Punt it and move on.

Late Games
Brian Dozier - FD 3200 DK 4700 DD 9900 DFSTR 6800
He hasn't been around long, but in a short time Kyle Lobstein has allowed close to a 5.00 xFIP against righty hitters. That lines up perfectly with Dozier's splits and I love him as a cash game play with some serious upside. Dozier is one of the rare players who can score in complete bunches because of the speed and power threat. At a weak position he's a clear late slate play.

Consider Javier Baez

Shortstops

Early Games
J.J. Hardy - FD 2200 DK 3000 DD 5800 DFSTR 3000
Should be back in the lineup today after the day off yesterday. I like him against J.A. Happ who, while being bombed by lefties this season, is platoon neutral for his career. And he's neutrally pretty bad. Hardy's had a rough go of it this season against lefties thanks in part to early season run bad on his Hr/FB%. That's regressed some but it doesn't explain all of his struggles. That being said, taking him in a hitter's ballpark against a below average pitcher is fine enough at his prices.

Late Games
Jhonny Peralta - FD 2500 DK 4000 DD 7850 DFSTR 3200
He's spent the better part of this season rocking (for a shortstop) lefties with an .880 OPS and .386 wOBA. Actually, I take back what I said, those numbers are solid for anyone. Fantastic for a shortstop. And I know I could have just deleted that first sentence. But this sh@#'s my inner dialogue. Wade Miley is an average pitcher with some K stuff. But Peralta is one of the better offensive shortstops in the game and I'll buy those splits all day.

Consider Hanley Ramirez

Third Basemen

Early Games
Danny Valencia - FD 2600 DK 2900 DD 6200 DFSTR 3300
This is a punt play of course, but the early slate is pretty terrible for third base unless you want to pay up for Donaldson against the lefty. But Holland is a tougher matchup so I think I'll trade down to Valencia who's been lucky in getting over an .850 OPS this season. He probably isn't that good, but this is the better side of his split and the Jays are getting him in lineups against lefties.

Consider Josh Donaldson

Late Games
Aramis Ramirez - FD 2600 DK 3600 DD 7550 DFSTR 3000
Made me very sad when he sat out last night against the lefty. Has a chance to get back into my good graces before the season ends. Don't screw this up Aramis. As I said with Lucroy, Wada is significantly worse against righties and lefties are where Ramirez's bread is buttered. He's slaughtered them this season with an OPS over 1.000 and an insane .452 wOBA. If he's playing the price on FanDuel is simply a must play.

Outfielders

Early Games
Hunter Pence - FD 3000 DK 3600 DD 8300 DFSTR 3000
Hasn't crushed lefties completely this season, but it is still a much better platoon for the guy and like I said for Posey, Stults is about as bad as it gets allowing almost an .800 OPS to righties this season. Pence is coming discounted all things considered and makes for a nice mini-stack with Posey.

Brett Gardner - FD 2700 DK 4500 DD 7950 DFSTR 5700
Has a great matchup with Joe Kelly who is much worse against lefty bats for his career. I like Gardner's chances of being on base with Kelly's lack of K potential and the speed raises is floor some. Coming very cheap for a semi-productive leadoff hitter.

Jose Bautista - FD 5100 DK 5700 DD 12850 DFSTR 15000
You'll have to pay of course, but I think if there's one guy to go above slot on in the late slate it's Joey Bats.

Consider Nelson Cruz and Adam Jones if they play
Late Games
Ryan Braun - FD 3100 DK 4500 DD 9750 DFSTR 3000
Khris Davis - FD 2300 DK 3000 DD 6750 DFSTR 3000
Carlos Gomez - FD 3700 DK 4600 DD 9950 DFSTR 3600
Not much has changed from when I recommended these guys last night. As I type this they are early on in an affair against a crappy pitcher that will most likely end in my heartache. I've been burned more than once on a Brewer stack this season. But the key to DFS is a short memory when the value is there. And I think it is again against Wada.

Consider Austin Jackson and Alex Gordon
