Welcome to another busy Tuesday night in the NHL. We have 10 games in which to choose our fantasy players from and some great top offensives going up against some weaker defenses. We will want to exploit these early season matchups before player pricing levels out to current production and not last seasons success. With the amount of value plays on the board, it allows us to easily pay up for "you know who" in net. Until Carey Price's salary is over $1,000 more than any other goalie we need to be using him as much as possible. If you want to load up on forwards and fade Price though, there are a few value options available as well. You will need to check the status of the goaltenders on Tuesday as only a few are confirmed as of writing this article. Lets dig in.

The first thing to know when playing DFS hockey is that choosing your goalie is very important. In most cases, especially cash games, it is smart to pay up for the best goalie who is the biggest favorite to win on any given night. If you are going to play multi lineups in GPP formats you can start to stray away from the top guys and pick some lower end goalies and stack your forwards and defense. Another thing I watch closely when looking for value picks in DFS hockey is to watch the line combinations as new guys jump up the depth chart and start playing with superstars. The pricing on these players doesn't catch up fast enough and close to minimum priced players can be found nightly with plenty of upside.

The two sites I will be making picks for will be DraftKings and FanDuel. Here is the breakdown of the points for each site:

DraftKings:
Goal(3 Pts)                                                   Goalie Win(3 Pts)
Assist(2 Pts)                                                 Goalie Save(.2 Pts)
Shot(.5 Pts)                                                  Goal Against(-1 Pt)
Short Handed Point Bonus(1 Pt)             Shutout Bonus(2 Pts)
Shootout Goal(.2 Pts)
Hat Trick Bonus(1.5 Pts)
Blocked Shot(.5 Pt)

Fanduel:
Goal(3 Pts)                                                    Goalie Win (3 Pts)
Assist(2 Pts)                                                 Goalie Saves(.2 Pts)
+/-(1 Pt)                                                        Goal Against(-1 Pt)
PIM(.25 Pts)                                                Shutout Bonus(2 Pts)
Power Play Point Bonus(.5 Pts)
Shot(.4 Pts)

There is no difference in goalie scoring between the two sites but there is a significant difference in forward/defense points. On DraftKings you get awarded points for short hand points, blocks, shootout goals, and can receive a hat trick bonus. FanDuel has none of these categories but awards powerplay points, +/-, and penalty minutes. More than anything this affects how I choose my defense. On DraftKings I look for defense who block a lot of shots while on FanDuel I really concentrate on +/- more than anything as it is worth 1 point either way.

GOALIES

Carey Price - Montreal Canadiens @ VAN *PROBABLE*
DraftKings - $8,500 FanDuel - $11,000
Sticking with Price as long as he and the Habs are on this epic run. They will be looking to tie an NHL record as they look to go 10-0 to start the season. Price has been facing over 32 shots per game to go with a .961 save percentage and will be safe in all formats.

Tuukka Rask - Boston Bruins vs. ARI *PROBABLE*
DraftKings - $7,300 FanDuel - $7,700
He will be a GPP play only for me on Tuesday as the Bruins and Rask have been awful to start the year. Rask has allowed at least 3 goals in every game to start the year but this trend can't continue for a goalie of his talent. He will be low owned in tournaments and has big upside vs. a Coyotes team scoring under 3 goals per game.

Also Consider - Kari Lehtonen - Dallas Stars

CENTER

Claude Giroux - Philadelphia Flyers vs. BUF
DraftKings - $6,700 FanDuel - $7,900
The Flyers are starting to heat up after a slow start to the year in the scoring department. The offense revolves around Giroux and he is averaging 19.0 shot attempts per game. Tuesday's game against Buffalo is projected to be one of the highest scoring of the night and we will want to get some exposure to it in cash games and tournaments.

Connor McDavid - Edmonton Oilers @ MIN
DraftKings - $5,600 FanDuel - $6,800
After picking up only 1 point in the first 4 games of his young career, McDavid has started to catch fire. He has scored 4 goals and picked up 4 assists in the Oilers last 5 games. He is nice play on both sites while his price remains outside the top 10 at the position and should be played in all formats.

Also Consider Jori Lehtera - Dallas Stars

WINGERS

Zach Parise - Minnesota Wild vs. EDM
DraftKings - $8,000 FanDuel(LW) - $8,700
He has been very consistent to start the year with 9 points in his first 8 games and is averaging close to 4 shots on goal per game. His high price tag might drive down the ownership on Tuesday which presents a nice opportunity to buy in a matchup vs. Edm who is prone to high scoring games and is giving up 3 goals per game.

Vladimir Tarasenko - St. Louis Blues vs. TB
DraftKings - $7,600 FanDuel(RW) - $8,200
His price has remained the same for about a week now and even though he hasn't picked up points in his last two games his floor remains high. He attempts close to 28 shots per 60 minutes of play and gets nearly 5 shots on net per game. He is capable of the multi point games which also creates a nice ceiling for tournaments.

Gustav Nyquist - Detroit Red Wings vs. CAR
DraftKings - $5,200 FanDuel(RW) - $5,700
Nyquist has picked up a point in 6 of his last 7 games and is now playing on the top line with Zetterberg and Abdelkader. He also gets top PP time and is averaging close to 15 shot attempts per 60 minutes. He makes a great play in any format.

Also Consider - Wayne Simmonds - Philadelphia Flyers

DEFENSE

Ryan Suter - Minnesota Wild vs. EDM
DraftKings - $5,100 FanDuel - $4,300
More of a cash game play on DraftKings as he has a nice floor blocking over 2 shots per game and attempting over 13 shots per 60 minutes. He is a nice spot at home Tuesday vs. the Oilers in a possible high scoring game.

John Klingberg - Dallas Stars vs. ANH
DraftKings - $4,700 FanDuel - $5,600
He is proving early on that last season was not a fluke. He has 7 points in 8 games and is averaging over 3 DK & FD points per game. His price has been slowly rising and will soon catch up to the production and talent. He has points in all but 2 games this year and enters a matchup vs. a struggling Ducks team playing in back to back games.

Also Consider - P.K. Subban - Montreal Canadien
