Welcome to the daily fantasy hockey picks article for DraftKings and FanDuel for Thursday, November 5, 2015. We are now a few weeks into the season and most teams have played around 8 games so far. There are some advanced stats that I am going to start to incorporate into my analysis each night and I want to go over what the stat is and how it can be predictive in fantasy hockey.

The first stat I am going to start using is iCorsi/60 or CF/60. Corsi has been used in hockey as a proxy for puck possession as their currently is no metric available to track a player or teams actual possession time. The NHL has tested technology that will soon be incorporated but for now Corsi will have to do. It measures a player or teams shot attempts during a game. A Corsi event during a game can be 1 of 3 things. A shot on net, a shot that misses the net, and a shot that is blocked. On the team level it is measured as Corsi For and Corsi Against or more commonly as CF%(Corsi For/(Corsi Frr + Corsi Against)). For team purposes we are looking for teams above 50%. On the player level we will be using CF/60 which gives us a look into how much an individual player is attempting shots. We are looking for players who are attempting above average(approx. 10 CF/60) Corsi events per 60 minutes of ice time.

Tonight I will also be adding DraftPot salaries to the article and picks. Lets dig in to the matchups on Thursday and find some players that are going to help us cash in daily fantasy games.

GOALIES

Jonathan Quick - LA Kings vs. CBJ *PROBABLE*
DraftKings - $7,400 FanDuel - $9,000 DraftPot - 4.80 DPPG
Priced as a top option on FanDuel but comes at a nice value on DraftKings and DraftPot Thursday night. The Kings are 1st in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference and are 8-2 in their last 10 games. They have a great matchup vs. Columbus who are at the bottom of the league in goals scored and goals allowed.

Craig Anderson - Ottawa Senators vs. WPG *CONFIRMED*
DraftKings - $7,100 FanDuel - $8,600 DraftPot - 4.26 DPPG
Confirmed starting in a matchup vs. the Jets who are playing in a back to back game on the road. The Jets have been a good team so far this year scoring a bunch leaving Anderson as a GPP play only. He has started the year 5-3-1 with a .913 save percentage.

CENTER

Kyle Turris - Ottawa Senators vs. WPG
DraftKings - $6,400 FanDuel - $6,900 DraftPot - 4.47 DPPG
Ottawa has been ranked a top 10 offense to start the year and a lot of that is due to the play of top center Kyle Turris. He has 13 points to start the year and has scored a goal in each of his last 4 games. The Jets are in town Thursday and playing in back to back games on the road and could be on tired legs. Turris is averaging over 15 CF/60 and should be able to get on the board Thursday.

Sean Monahan - Calgary Flames vs. PHI
DraftKings - $5,400 FanDuel - $6,800 DraftPot - 2.17 DPPG
He hasn't quite broke out yet in 2015 but has put up 8 points in his first 13 games. He comes in at a very nice price, especially on DraftPot, and makes a nice play in any format as the matchup is a plus vs. the Flyers who are playing a third game in four nights on their Western Canada road trip.

WINGERS

Gabriel Landeskog - Colorado Avalanche @ ARI
DraftKings - $7,100 FanDuel(LW) - $6,200 DraftPot - 4.40 DPPG
He is finally starting to heat up for the Avs who have struggled to start the year. He has put points on the score sheet in 4 of the last 5 games and has seen a big uptick in his Cori numbers where he is now averaging 13.6 CF/60.

Joe Pavelski - San Jose Sharks vs. FLA
DraftKings(C) - $7,400 FanDuel(RW) - $8,100 DraftPot - 5.10 DPPG
"Great value on both sites and has goals in 4 straight games. There is a very good chance that streak continues Tuesday vs. the Blue Jackets who are allowing 3.83 goals per game. Great play in any format."

That was what I wrote about Pavelski on Tuesday and he scored 2 goals and had 8 shots on goal. The Sharks lost the game and will be looking to grab a win at home vs. the Panthers who will be starting their backup goaltender.

Nikolaj Ehlers - Winnipeg Jets @ OTT
DraftKings - $4,800 FanDuel(RW) - $3,900 DraftPot - 3.81 DPPG
Playing on a line with Scheifele & Perreault and are one of the top scoring lines in the league. His price is still adjusting to the production but there is still some meat on the value bone. He is ranked 5th in the NHL in individual Corsi, averaging 23.7 CF/60.

Also Consider - James Neal - Nashville Predators @ MIN

DEFENSE

Ryan Suter - Minnesota Wild vs. NSH
DraftKings - $5,400 FanDuel - $4,300 DraftPot - 3.73 DPPG
My favorite D option the first few weeks of the season. He has been consistent and doesn't cost a pretty penny. He provides a nice floor on all sites with blocks, shots, and almost 4:00 on the powerplay.

Jake Muzzin - Los Angeles Kings
DraftKings - $4,400 FanDuel - $4,900 DraftPot - 1.65
Still coming in at a fantastic value across the industry, especially on DraftPot where he will only cost you 1.65 DPPG in GM Mode. He is coming off a bad game but I don't expect 2 duds in a row. The Kings are in a great matchup at home as favorites vs. the Blue Jackets who are ranked near the bottom of the league in many categories.
