Welcome to the daily fantasy hockey picks article for DraftKings, FanDuel, and DraftPot for Monday, December 14th, 2015. Due to the balanced schedule last week we have a nice Monday night in the NHL with five games. There are no teams playing on back to back nights so everyone should be rested after Saturday nights games. Let's dig in to the slate and find some value plays and core plays for tonight.

Petr Mrazek - Detroit Red Wings vs. BUF  *Confirmed*
DraftKings - $7,100 FanDuel - $8,700 DraftPot - 5.42 DPPG

All signs point to him being the top goalie on the night. He has picked wins in three straight starts while alternating time with Jimmy Howard. The Red Wings are at home(10-5-3) as the biggest favorite vs. the Sabres who are a young, improving team but still struggle on the road(5-7-2). He and Howard both have .920+ save % and when the Red Wings are at home play whoever is between the pipes.

Tuukka Rask - Boston Bruins vs. EDM *Probable*
DraftKings - $7,700 FanDuel - $8,400 DraftPot - 5.90 DPPG

Rask has played a huge role in the turn around of the Bruins after a slow start to the season. He has picked up wins in three straight games including a shutout that has increased his season save percentage to a respectable .912. The Oilers come to town riding a five game win streak but struggle on the road. Look for Rask to end the streak Monday night.

CENTER

Steven Stamkos - Tampa Bay Lightning @ CBJ
DraftKings - $7,100 FanDuel - $9,400 DraftPot - 3.40 DPPG

The price is a little high over at FanDuel but due to his disappointing start to the season has seen his price plummet on DraftKings and DraftPot. He has points in three of his last four and eight in his last 10 games and enters  a nice matchup vs. the Blue Jackets who haven't played their best hockey on home ice.

Anze Kopitar - Los Angeles Kings @ OTT
DraftKings - $5,100 FanDuel - $6,500 DraftPot - 2.80 DPPG

After a slow start to the season has picked up 10 of his 18 points in the previous 10 games including two multi point efforts. His salary hasn't started to rise yet making him a great value play, especially on a short slate. He is playing alongside Marian Gaborik and Tanner Pearson and centers the Kings top powerplay unit.

Also Consider - Patrice Bergeron - Boston Bruins vs. EDM

 

WINGERS

 

Brad Marchand - Boston Bruins vs. EDM
DraftKings - $5,900 FanDuel(LW) - $8,100 DraftPot - 4.40 DPPG

He has had a couple three game pointless streaks but other than that has been a very consistent fantasy producer this season. He benefits tremendously from playing alongside Patrice Bergeron and has 21 points to show for it so far this year. The Bruins top line and #1 PP unit will be my #1 stack of the night for GPP formats.

Taylor Hall - Edmonton Oilers @ BOS
DraftKings - $7,300 FanDuel(LW) - $9,600 DraftPot - 4.65 DPPG

It probably isn't a good idea to start him if you are starting Tuukka Rask for the Bruins. He is close to being an elite play but I feel the Bruins will slow down the streaking Oilers. That doesn't mean the Bruins will shut them out and if the Oilers create any offense Monday it should flow through their top player.

 

Bobby Ryan - Ottawa Senators vs. LA
DraftKings - $5,600 FanDuel(RW) - $5,900 DraftPot(LW) - 3.80 DPPG

He makes a fantastic cash game as a very consistent fantasy player. He has 28 points on the year and provides a high floor as he averages over 2 shots per game and add the occasional block as well. On FanDuel where +/- affects your score, he has only has one negative game in his last 10 games.

Also Consider - Tomas Tatar - Detroit Red Wings vs. BUF

DEFENSE

Torey Krug - Boston Bruins vs. EDM
DraftKings - $6,100 FanDuel - $6,300 DraftPot - 3.05 DPPG

The Bruins top offensive defenseman has picked up points in five of his last seven games and has 17 on the season. He has added 80 shots on net, 47 blocked shots and a +6 rating making him safe in any format Monday.

Alec Martinez - Los Angeles Kings @ OTT
DraftKings - $3,800 FanDuel - $4,200 DraftPot - 3.18 DPPG

He will be a value play on DraftKings and DraftPot where blocks are counted and is safe for cash games. He has been getting in the front of absolutely everything lately with 14 blocks in his last five games. Very affordable priced punt play who allows room for higher priced forwards.

Also Consider - Rasmus Ristolainen - Buffalo Sabres @ DET
