A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!

Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Early Slate Stack Targets

*Coors is obviously in play, but I thought it would be better to give you a few other options instead.

San Diego Padres vs. Brandon Finnegan (SD)

Brandon Finnegan is coming into this contest with a good-looking 3.81 ERA. Sure that's a nice ERA, but the question that I have for you guys is: Is he as good as his ERA indicates? And the answer to that question is [no]. On the year, he owns a 5.03 xFIP to go along with a 4.8 K-BB%. Let's just say that ERA is going to drop big-time and it all starts today.

I know we have a tendency to target pitchers against the Padres, but that is a big mistake when you have a southpaw on the mound. The Padres own a .340 wOBA (6th in MLB) and 116 wRC+ (3rd in MLB) against lefties. They throw out a ton of right-handed bats when a lefty is on the hill, so look for the Padres to have themselves a day; especially at Great American (Small) Park.

Main Slate Stack Targets

Oakland Athletics vs. Jhoulys Chacin(COL)

First the San Diego Padres and now the Oakland Athletics?! I have officially gone a little crazy...

On a serious note, I really like the position the Athletics are in today. They will be going up against right-hander Jhoulys Chacin, who isn't all that. He is coming into this contest sporting an ERA over 5 and a 4.31 xFIP. Sure he might be a little better than his ERA suggests, but he still isn't someone that will scare me away from the A's.

The A's aren't a team that will blow your mind away with their offensive statistics, but one thing I do like is how they only strikeout 18% of the time. Guess what I'm trying to say is that you can expect them to put the ball in play the majority of the time, especially since Chacin is a guy that pitches to contact.

Houston Astros vs Chris Young (CIN)

The Astros put on quite a show last night. George Springer hit a grand salami and they put up 13 runs on the scoreboard. The Royals bullpen was heavily relied on, so look for the Astros to put up some more runs today (I'm not saying they will score 13 again tonight, but 7 runs isn't bad at all) Guess I just called it -- 7 runs it is. Not only is the bullpen worn out, but they will also be going up against veteran Chris Young.

Chris Young has had a rough going this year. He is coming into this contest sporting a 5.61 ERA that is backed up by a 6.99 FIP (yikes!). Not only is the FIP just under 7 (literally), he also owns a 53.7 FB% and 40.4% hard contact rate. Look for the Astros to hit him, and hit him hard in this contest. I don't see anything slowing down the Astros' offense tonight.

So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.

  1. You guys say go w chacin in pitchers stacks you say pick against him haha

  2. What’s funny is some of the zombies that use this site are going to do a 5 man stack against Chachin and also have Chachin in the same lineup lol

  3. might stack a few angels tonight, they’re going against a minor league pitcher tonight

  4. Yeah haha. Our system had him as a value play. That price point is just way too cheap.. But I like to stack against him as well as a tourney stack… It’s weird but whatever lol! Good luck fellas

  5. Its great to see Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings, as many people play fantasy sports everyday and are keen to find new things.
