A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

*Whenever there is a game in Coors, the two teams there are more than in consideration. The implied runs in Denver are typically much higher than any other game on the slate. It's no different today with the Rangers and Rockies. But the sites have price corrected for this and both teams are very expensive. Great stacking options for sure, but cost prohibitive.

St.Louis Cardinals vs. Cody Reed (Reds)
Park - Busch Stadium

The Cardinals are going to enter as our top stack n the slate, as they will be in a very good spot with all things considered. First of all, they will be facing off with a left hander that has been absolutely atrocious against right handers. In 30 innings, Reed has sported a horrid .408 wOBA that is backed up by a crazy 41% hard contact rate. While the Cardinals haven't been tremendous against lefties, they have been good independently and are just waiting to click. That clicking could certainly occur tonight, with both the starting pitcher and bullpen being atrocious. Due to the fat that they will be highly owned, there is definitely a merit of throwing out a sneaky stack that includes guys like Matt Carpenter or Tommy Pham.

Main stack - Jedd Gyorko, Matt Holliday, Stephen Piscotty, Jhonny Peralta

Sneaky stack - Matt Carpenter, Jedd Gyorko, Johnny Peralta, Thomas Pham

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Jake Odorizzi (Rays)
Park - Rogers Centre

The Blue Jays are team that many are going to look over due to the fact that they are facing off with a right hander that isn't atrocious. However, they are very very wrong, and Vegas agrees. Odorizzi has been much worse against righties with .338 wOBA than he has against lefties with a .301 wOBA. Due to this, the right handers will be in a tremendous spot to hit for power while way too low owned. The Blue Jays lineup is a very difficult one to navigate with Devon Travis and Melvin Upton moving around nearly every game. The Blue Jays will be at home in the Rogers Centre, which is a top 10 power park for both lefties and right handers. While I prefer the top 4 in the lineup, there is a merit for using some guys lower in the order in large field tournaments.

Main stack -Devon Travis, Jose Bautista, Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnacion

Sneaky stack - Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnacion, Troy Tulowitzki, Melvin Upton Jr.
