Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks FanDuel & DraftKings 9/24/16

Welcome to our daily article breaking down some of the other stacking targets on this slate. We covered our system's top value plays in our daily picks article and pitching breakdown but here we will look at other dudes to consider.

In case you didn’t notice, on Saturday we released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and Player Lab which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. It’s a robust set of tools; well beyond anything we’ve ever had and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!

Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Seattle Mariners vs. Tyler Duffey (MIN)

The Mariners had been colder than my snow cone, but then all of sudden -- BAM! Friday hit and they put ten runs on the board! My snow cone melted thanks to a Mariners' squad that devoured the Twins, and guess what -- they play them again tonight!

No, Kyle Gibson will not be on the bump again tonight. This time, they will face Tyler Duffey. 2016 hasn't been the best of years for the right-hander, as he's posted a 6.39 ERA along with a 1.53 WHIP. He's giving up a ton of hits (opponents own .302 AVG against him), which is why his WHIP and ERA are so inflated. Not only do the Mariners get to face a starter with an ERA over six, but the bullpen has also been terrible for the Twins this season. They own a 4.63 ERA (26th in MLB), so this should be a fun one to watch, especially against a bullpen that was forced to pitch 4 innings last night.

My top 4 guys to stack: Nelson Cruz, Robinson Cano, Nori Aoki and Seth Smith.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Wade Miley (BAL)

This Arizona Diamondbacks squad completely flopped this season after all of these high expectations, but they at least did one thing that is considered "good" this season. Can you guess what that is? I'll give you a hint -- it wasn't thee way their bullpen pitched. Still don't know? I guess I'll give you another hint. It wasn't the [Shelby Miller] signing either. It was hitting left-handed pitchers. Hitting isn't the right word; devouring is much more accurate.

On the year, they owned a whooping .350 wOBA (1st in MLB) along with a 113 wRC+ (3rd in MLB) and .206 IS0 (1st in MLB). I just realized that I'm bragging about how amazing this Dbacks' squad has been this season -- [against lefties], but never mentioned that they will be facing one. So yeah -- my bad -- they will be facing a southpaw tonight, and his name is Wade Miley. Miley owns an ERA over 5 along with a 1.45 WHIP, which is another reason why I'm all over the Diamondbacks tonight. A struggling lefty against a squad that crushes lefties seems like a good [stacking] option to me.

My top 4 guys to stack: Jean Segura, Yasmany Tomas, Paul Goldschmidt and Chris Owings.

Miami Marlins vs. Aaron Blair (ATL)

Warning: I totally did not choose a Marlins' stack because I will be one of ten people in attendance for this contest. Instead, I decided to stack the Marlins because they'll be going up against Aaron Blair. It's been a while since I've written an MLB article, but incase you didn't know -- I have a golden rule: Always stack against a guy with an xFIP over 5.20. "Does Aaron Blair meet your high standards," you may be asking yourselves, and the answer is -- YES! He sure does! He owns a beautiful 5.86 xFIP on the year, which is why I'll be stacking the Fish. Again, I’m not stacking the Marlins because I'll be one of the few people in attendance to watch this NL Championship preview; but because, I see a whole lot of offense in this contest.

My top 4 guys to stack: Christian Yelich, Giancarlo Stanton, Dee Gordon and Marcell Ozuna.
