GOALIES

Sergei BobrovskySergei Bobrovsky FD - $8900 DK - $8200
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 14.18 DK - 3.54

While the three-game shutout streak came to end, Bob did push his winning streak to four games after defeating the Sabres on Friday night. After an All-Star first half, Bob struggled post-ASB losing three of four but has rebounded nicely winning seven of his last 10 with an elite .952 save percentage. After getting a night off on Saturday, he will be back between the pipes for the Jackets as they get a plus matchup vs. the Flyers and their 22nd ranked offense who have scored two goals or less in six of their last eight games. Fire up Bobrovsky in all formats on Monday night.

Tuukka RaskTuukka Rask FD - $9000 DK - $7700
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 13.4 DK - 3.35

Rask has been on top of his game lately winning back to back starts while allowing just one goal in each game. Those two wins put him at 32 for the season, his fourth straight 30+ win season. He is much more of a GPP play tonight as the floor is not very high. The Bruins allow the second least amount of shots per game while the Canucks take the second fewest shots per game. Either way, the win potential is most definitely there as the Canucks have lost seven of their last 10 games and rank 28th in offense. His best value comes on DraftKings where the salary has once again dropped into the $7K range. If the Bruins decide to give Rask a rest on Monday night, Khudobin also makes a nice GPP play under $8K on both sites and has won his last three starts.

Also Consider: Pekka Rinne(GPP)

CENTERS

**Note - Crosby and Malkin of the Penguins sit at the top of the salary on both sites and draw a tough matchup vs. a red-hot Flames team. I will be dipping down a bit at center to grab some potential PTS/$ value plays.**

John TavaresJohn Tavares FD - $8200 DK - $7000
Opponent - CAR
Proj Pts FD - 15.83 DK - 4.78

The first direction I will turn when scrolling past the Pens centers is none other than Johnny T. He gets a plus matchup as the Islanders 9th ranked offense will be at home to the Hurricanes and their below average 18th ranked defense. Tavares continues to provide elite goal scoring ability despite the lack of a supporting cast and has now scored 24 or more goals in all eight of his NHL seasons. He is averaging a point per game over his last 10 games and also provides a very high floor with 38 shots on goal in those 10 games. Fire up Tavares in all formats.

Stack with: Anders Lee, Josh Bailey

Sean MonahanSean Monahan FD - $6800 DK - $5900
Opponent - PIT
Proj Pts FD - 12.67 DK - 3.92

Tonight we a battle of two red hot teams as the Penguins and their five-game win streak will visit the Flames and their nine-game win streak. With his higher salary on FanDuel, Monahan is strictly a GPP play but on DraftKings under $6K he is in play in all formats. He has been a huge contributor during the streak and has points in four straight and seven of his last nine games while skating over 17 minutes a game on a line with Johnny Hockey. On an eight-game slate with so many options, Monahan makes an excellent projected low-owned option.

Stack with: Michael Ferland, Johnny Gaudreau

Victor RaskVictor Rask FD - $4300 DK - $5200
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 9.29 DK - 2.91

It is always a bit harder to find elite PTS/$ values on FanDuel but Rask is just that tonight with a salary $900 cheaper than on DraftKings. He has points in two straight and seven of his last nine games and also provides slightly above average shot volume(13.6 shot att/60) making him a safe choice in cash games as well. He skates on the top line with Jeff Skinner and also gets over two minutes per game on the powerplay. The matchup is very intriguing as the Islanders 18th ranked defense has been struggling having given up 26 goals over their last seven games(3.7 per game).

Stack with: Jeff Skinner, Elias Lindholm

WINGERS

David PastrnakDavid Pastrnak FD - $7100 DK - $6800
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 14.28 DK - 4.37

Outside of Brad Marchand, it has been Pastrnak carrying the load for most of the season. In his third season with the Bruins, he has crushed his career highs as he currently sits with 58 points and an impressive +11 rating. He comes into tonight's matchup with the lowly Canucks having tallied a point in eight straight games with a whopping 31 shots on goal. He has safety for cash games at a discount from the top options and the multi-point upside needed to win a tournament.

Stack with: David Krejci, Drew Stafford

Conor ShearyConor Sheary FD - $5800 DK - $6300
Opponent - CGY
Proj Pts FD - 12.07 DK - 3.78

With the Flames playing their best hockey of the season it would be wise to get your exposure to the Penguins #1 offense in some creative, less expensive ways. It starts with Sheary who has picked up where he left off after his injury. He has tallied points in three of his five games in March including three multi-point efforts and is coming off an eight shot game in Vancouver. He skates on the top line with Crosby and also the second powerplay unit with Bonino and Geuntzel who make a very affordable GPP stack.

Stack with: Sidney Crosby, Nick Bonino(PP), Jake Guentzel(PP)

Jordan WealJordan Weal FD - $3500 DK - $4000
Opponent - CBJ
Proj Pts FD - 8.49 DK - 2.62

If you are looking to save as much salary as possible at one of your wing positions without sacrificing upside, take a long hard look at Jordan Weal tonight. He continues to skate on the top line with Giroux and Simmonds and although the Flyers offense has struggled, for the most part, Weal has now scored in two of his last three games and has scored three times over his last six games. He is taking advantage of the long-awaited opportunity and makes an excellent salary relief option in all formats, even in a tough matchup vs. the Blue Jackets.

Stack with: Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds

DEFENSEMEN
Dustin ByfuglienDustin Byfuglien FD - $6100 DK - $6100
Opponent - NAS
Proj Pts FD - 14.73 DK - 4.62

Big Buff continues to produce at an elite level but remains outside the top priced D-men even without Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson on this slate. Over his last 10 games, he has tallied 10 points and a very impressive 39 shots on goal. Even when he is held off the scoresheet he has provided a high as he proved last game with three blocks and four shots for 3.5 DK/11.2 FD points. The Jets get another plus matchup tonight as they travel to Music City to take on the 19th defense in the Predators. Roster Byfuglien with confidence in all formats.

David SavardDavid Savard FD - $3800 DK - $3700
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 9.16 DK - 2.66

From a PTS/$ perspective, you just can't fade David Savard right now. While he isn't quite on pace for career-best offensive numbers, he is sure heating up with goals in back to back games and seven points over his last 10 games. He is getting top minutes with Jack Johnson and will continue to get them with his elite +25 rating which ranks sixth among all D-men. At a price south of $4K on both sites, he is safe in all formats against the Flyers.

Also Consider: Shayne Gostisbehere(PHI)

  1. I am still confused on this goalie suggestion. For GPPs, don’t you want a high ceiling? If Vancouver doesn’t shoot and Boston suppresses shots, how is Rask’s ceiling high for GPPs? Are you counting on a shutout bonus? For GPPs, I would think we want a goalie that gets pelted by a team that shoots low percentage shots. Berube would be an example tonight. Thoughts?

  2. What I was trying to say was that he isn’t safe for cash games because he doesn’t get a ton of shots. It’s GPP only as he has faced 30+ in the past but not consistently, thus it’s riskier. Thanks for reading.

  3. Pretty much all the goalies were risky tonight. 🙂
