Tampa Bay Rays vs. Los Angeles Angels (Daniel Wright)

With the Yankees out of the picture due to some miscalculation by Mother Nature(How dare she not check and see there is a day game in New York!) it opens the door for a few more high-end stacks to move up the list. While you can spend right up for the Nationals vs. Miranda or the red hot Rockies vs. Velasquez, I choose to go a bit more under the radar and roll with the Rays today. Both those other teams will be popular with the lack of pitching options and ability to spend money somewhere but I would rather mix in the top bats from those matchups with a Rays stack vs. spot starter Daniel Wright. He has made three appearances(one start) in 2017 and has allowed eight earned runs in just 13 innings pitched while striking out just seven and walking six. He will be in big trouble if he can't miss bats today as the Rays, outside of striking out a league-high 515 times, crush right-handed pitching to the tune of a .335 wOBA and 115 wRC+ this season. They can go extremely lefty-heavy with their lineup and that is just what they did again today with four of the top six being left-handed batters. My favorite targets for the stack are Dickerson, Kiermaier, Longoria and Logan Morrison.

Detroit Tigers vs. Houston Astros (Mike Fiers)

On the five-game main slate tonight, the Red Sox are going to be chalky facing Nick Martinez and while they make a great play, I like pivoting to the Tigers who are also in a very favorable matchup. When stacking you are looking for multiple home runs and a high scoring game and no better pitcher to deliver that upside for our stacks than Mike Fiers. He has started eight games this season, giving up a home run in each for a league-leading total of 17 so far in 2017 that equals an absurd 34% HR/FB rate. While the Tigers sit in the middle of the league when it comes to hitting vs. right-handed pitching, they have also dealt with injuries to Miguel Cabrera and J.D. Martinez who are both back. If you read my main picks article for today, you would have seen that J.D. Martinez is my top overall outfielder tonight after receiving a much needed Wednesday night off. Since returning to the lineup in early may, he has hit six home runs and sits with a .564 wOBA and 270 wRC+. Ride the hot streak to GPP glory tonight.
