Colorado Rockies

The Rockies are at home tonight in Coors Field against a lefty. That's really all that needs to be said, but you took the time to click on this article, so I should give you something more for your time and efforts, eh? Okay, so, Colorado is hosting the Padres this weekend and tonight San Diego sends Clayton Richard to the hill. Richard's generally a ground ball pitcher, but if you can get under one then it's generally easy to put one out on him as evidenced by his 20.4% HR/FB rate. He was rocked for 10 runs in a mere 3.2 IP here at Coors on July 19th and despite a couple of shut outs thrown in here and there down the stretch, he can be easily rattled and taken full advantage of. I wont bore you with individual statistics on the Rockies bats, as Chris covered several of them in detail in the picks article, just know to build around Nolan Arenado, and get a healthy helping or DJ LeMahieu and Trevor Story, if he's available which all signs suggest he should be.

Top stacking options: Nolan Arenado, DJ LeMahieu, Trevor Story, Mark Reynolds, Jonathan Lucroy

New York Yankees

In his picks article this morning Chris spotlighted the importance of paying close attention to who is playing for what in the waning weeks of the season. The Bronx Bombers have a cushy three game lead with the top AL Wildcard spot, but surely another division pennant would look just lovely among all the others, so don't expect the Yankees to take their foot off the pedal any time soon. Winners of seven of their last ten the Yanks host the Orioles in Yankee Stadium. New York has the highest projected run total outside of Coors Field tonight against Gabriel Ynoa. Ynoa only has four starts under his belt since making his big league debut last year with the Mets. He hasn't had much struggle with the long ball in his limited time up in the bigs, but he also hasn't had a couple of runs through the Yankees order in their hitter friendly park either. The Yanks are a threatening offense against right handed pitching. Their .337 team wOBA is second only to Houston, and their .186 ISO is a top ten. Aaron Judge has hit 35 of his 43 home runs off of right handers, and Gary Sanchez leads all catchers by a wide margin with a .374 wOBA against righties. If you're avoiding Coors, be sure to get you some Yanks.

Top stacking options: Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Brett Gardner, Didi Gregorius

Oakland Athletics

The Athletics return back where it all began to the city of brotherly love. A weekend in Citizens Bank Park kicks off against Mark Leiter Jr and the Phillies. Leiter has bounced around the Phillies farm system the past few years with mixed results and is making his ninth career start this evening. Like Clayton Richard above, Leiter produces a lot of ground balls, but falls into trouble once they start getting some air under them with a 20.3% HR/FB rate. The Athletics, while unimpressive for the duration of the season, have been on a bit of a tear the past few weeks. Over the last 14 days, their .375 team wOBa is rivaled only by those unstoppable Indians, and their 23 long balls is the third most by a team in that span. While no names from the Oakland roster jump off the page, Khris Davis has been quietly rolling along this season with a .355 wOBA and Matt Olson has led the way with seven of those 23 home runs down the stretch. The ball has been carrying well in Philly this week and this one could make for a fun game stack.

Top stacking options: Khris Davis, Matt Joyce, Matt Olson, Jed Lowrie
