Hello hockey fans and welcome to another day of NHL action here at DFSR. There is an afternoon game today, but we will be concentrating solely on the six-game main slate on both sites. There are some high-powered offenses combined with some vulnerable defenses in action today which should make for some exciting action. Let's dive right into the picks shall we?

GOALIE

Sergei BobrovskySergei Bobrovsky FD - $9100 DK - $8300
Opponent - CAR
Proj Pts FD - 15.54 DK - 3.89

Last year's Vezina Trophy winner hasn't been at his best lately as he has allowed 11 goals in his last three games, but all three of those games were on the road against top 10 offenses. Tonight should be the perfect remedy for Bobrovsky as the Blue Jackets welcome the Carolina Hurricanes and their 26th ranked offense to town. The Russian netminder has a record of 8-3-1 to go along with a .921 save percentage and a 2.37 GAA which are both respectable numbers. The Blue Jackets are currently the largest favorite on the board (-150) and Bobrovsky is my top play in cash game formats this evening.

Connor HellebuyckConnor Hellebuyck FD - $8400 DK - $7900
Opponent - VEG
Proj Pts FD - 0 DK - 0

When the Jets signed Steve Mason in the offseason, Most people assumed that he would become the starter. Well, that was an experiment gone wrong and Hellebuyck has been sensational since taking over the starting duties in Winnipeg. The young American tender is still undefeated in regulation time with a record of 8-0-2 and he has a 2.12 GAA and a .936 save percentage which are both awesome numbers. Vegas' offense is ranked fifth in the league but they are due for some serious regression and Winnipeg has been firing on all cylinders lately. The Jets are listed as -140 road favorites and they should come away with the victory this evening. It is tough recommending Hellebuyck for cash games because he is on the road, but he is an elite play in GPP formats.

CENTERS

Patrice BergeronPatrice Bergeron FD - $7700 DK - $7000
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 16.87 DK - 5.05

I love that commercial where Bergeron says "Thank you for naming your first child Patrice." He is a class act and he's one of the best all-around centers in the game. He plays on the #1 line and the #1 PP unit for the Bruins and he kills penalties for them as well. The French-Canadian star averages 3.6 shots on goal per game and 1.3 blocks per game which is #1 among centers. In his last three games, he has a goal, three assists, nine shots, and five blocks and tonight he and the Bruins travel to Toronto to do battle against the Leafs who allow a fifth worst 3.53 goals per game. Bergeron offers great value on both sites as he's the seventh highest priced center on FanDuel and the fifth highest on DraftKings. Fire him up with confidence in both your cash game and GPP lineups.

Stack with: David Pastrnak, Anders Bjork

Nazem KadriNazem Kadri FD - $6100 DK - $6200
Opponent - BOS
Proj Pts FD - 11.22 DK - 3.27

Kadri just keeps chugging along for the Leafs as he has three goals and five shots in his last two games and he plays on the #1 PP unit for the Leafs where he is tied for 5th in the league with three PP goals. The Bruins are ranked 17th on defense with 3.07 goals per game and superstar Auston Matthews is questionable to play for the Leafs this evening which opens up more opportunities for Kadri. Toronto should score a few goals this evening and look for this guy to show up on the scoresheet, so lock him into your lineups in all formats.

Stack with: William Nylander, Leo Komarov

Mathew BarzalMathew Barzal FD - $4400 DK - $4600
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 10 DK - 2.87

Wow! I watched this rookie play the other night and he looked like Flash Gordon on skates. They have already promoted him to the #2 line and the #1 PP unit alongside John Tavares and company as he has two goals and nine assists during a six-game point streak and he has 10 shots on goal in his last four games. Barzal is my favorite play from a PTS/$ perspective as he is priced way too cheap considering his current production. Lock and load the rookie in all formats.

Stack with: Jordan Eberle, Brock Nelson

WINGERS

Blake WheelerBlake Wheeler FD - $7900 DK - $7700
Opponent - VEG
Proj Pts FD - 16.72 DK - 4.92

Winnipeg's captain has carried his team on his back so far this season and the Jets are one of the most exciting teams to watch in the entire league. "Captain Wheels" has a goal, eight assists, and eight shots in his last three games, four goals, nine assists and 14 shots in his last five and he has averaged 4.4 shots on goal in his last eight games. The veteran winger skates on the #1 line and the #1 PP unit for the Jets and Vegas are down to their fourth-string goalie between the pipes. Wheeler is an elite play in all formats this evening.

Stack with: Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor

Evander KaneEvander Kane FD - $6800 DK - $7000
Opponent - FLA
Proj Pts FD - 16.3 DK - 4.74

This young man loves to shoot the puck which is what we are looking for when it comes to cash game consideration. He has nine goals and 73 shots on goal which are ranked fourth and second respectively amongst wingers. Kane plays on the #1 line and the #1 PP unit for the Sabres and he has three goals and 13 shots in his last three games. The Sabres have a juicy matchup this evening against the Panthers and their 31st ranked defense who allow 4.14 goals per game. Ouch! Kane will be very popular this evening so you could look elsewhere for your tournament lineups, but he is an elite cash game option.

Stack with: Jack Eichel, Jason Pominville

Josh AndersonJosh Anderson FD - $4700 DK - $4300
Opponent - CAR
Proj Pts FD - 8.81 DK - 2.47

It is time for a value play and Anderson plays on the top line and the #2 PP unit for the Blue Jackets. He has three goals and an assist in his last three games and he has averaged 3.7 shots on goal in his last seven games. Carolina is ranked ninth defensively, so he's tough to roster for your cash games, but he's a tremendous value in GPP's in case the Jackets score a ton of goals this evening.

Stack with: Nick Foligno, Artemi Panarin

Also Consider: Alex Ovechkin (Wsh)

DEFENSEMEN

Dustin ByfuglienDustin Byfuglien FD - $5600 DK - $6200
Opponent - VEG
Proj Pts FD - 13.26 DK - 4.04

Big Buff hasn't scored a goal yet this season, but he has nine assists in 11 games and he logs a ton of ice-time while skating on the top defensive pairing as well as the #1 PP unit. He has three assists, eight shots, and five blocks in his last five games and since there is very little value at this position today, Byfuglien is a solid play in all formats.

Marco Scandella FD - $3600 DK - $3800
Opponent - FLA
Proj Pts FD - 7.6 DK - 2.23

Okay, before you want to throw something at me, please hear me out. The Sabres' top point-man is injured so this guy has been promoted to the #1 PP unit. The Former Wild defenseman has an assist, six shots, and seven blocks in his last three games while averaging 25 minutes of ice-time. Like I said above, defense is a very tough position today so you could do worse than Scandella for your cash game lineups.

Also Consider: John Klingberg (Dal) in GPP formats

  1. Will the cheat sheet be available today for NHL?

  2. Yes Mike. If you go to the chat room, Chris has it posted in the NHL chat section. It is a great sheet that Chris puts a lot of effort into.
