Point Guard

Malcolm BrogdonMalcolm Brogdon FD - $8000 DK - $8500
Opponent - UTA
Proj Pts FD - 38.89 DK - 42.66

Brogdon returned to the lineup last night after missing two straight and looked great shooting over 50% from the field on 21 shots putting up 25 points and contributing in every area for fantasy(5 ass, 3 reb, 2 blk, 3 stl). Things don't get any easier for Brogdon and the Pacers as they will not only be playing back-to-back but also playing a second Top 5 defense in as many nights. With the smaller slate combined with his usage and fantasy contributions across multiple categories, he is still in play for me in all formats.

Tyrese MaxeyTyrese Maxey FD - $7000 DK - $6800
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 38.1 DK - 40.91

The price continues to rise but for good reason as Maxey has stepped in a big way with the absence of Ben Simmons. Adding to the increased role is the fact Joel Embiid and Seth Curry have been in and out of the lineup leading to Maxey playing an average of 42 minutes per game over the last four while averaging 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.5 steals. His usage in the offense should continue for now and that means he is squarely on the fantasy radar in all formats once again tonight.

Shooting Guard

Donovan MitchellDonovan Mitchell FD - $8600 DK - $9000
Opponent - IND
Proj Pts FD - 41.8 DK - 45.68

While Mitchell comes as a Top 5 priced player tonight, it is going to be hard to ignore the usage(35.4%) which leads all players on this slate. That usage has increased to elite levels more recently as he has averaged 26 shots per game over the last four and that should continue tonight as Caris Levert is questionable after having to miss the last game due to lingering back pain. While there is a chance of blowout(UTA -9), we have a three-game slate and this one has the highest total(219) and the Pacers rank in the bottom third of the league in defensive efficiency. Lock and load in all formats.

Gary Trent Jr.Gary Trent Jr. FD - $6300 DK - $5000
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 28.57 DK - 29.36

Pretty big price differential here and that is good news for the DraftKings players as we are going to need some value on this small slate. Let's start with good news as he has started every game but the first and is averaging over 33 minutes a game while putting up double-digit shot attempts in each. The bad news is that he is very scoring dependant which can lead to variance in the fantasy scores. On this small slate, I think we just suck it up against a 76ers team that ranks outside the Top 20 in defensive efficiency. I will have exposure in all formats, especially on DraftKings.

Small Forward

Duncan RobinsonDuncan Robinson FD - $3900 DK - $3800
Opponent - LAC
Proj Pts FD - 18.64 DK - 21.69
Tyler HerroTyler Herro FD - $6400 DK - $6100
Opponent - LAC
Proj Pts FD - 27.11 DK - 30.83

The Heat could be without Jimmy Butler tonight who left the game last night with an ankle injury and that could mean more big minutes for Robinson and Herro. Let's start with Robinson who has been inconsistent and scoring dependant but comes cheap and puts up a ton of shots from behind the arc(8.9 per game which is Top 10 in the league) giving up big-time PTS/$ upside. On a small slate, I am on board with the projections/optimizer which has him in every lineup at this point.

For Herro, he comes at a much higher price tag but gives us the same kind if minutes and overall shot volume but he is much more consistent. He is coming off a 42 minute OT effort last night and could see something similar if Butler were out and he could also draw the start. Stay tuned.

Also Consider: Furkan Korkmaz(PHI) if he were to draw another start

Power Forward

Domantas SabonisDomantas Sabonis FD - $8800 DK - $9100
Opponent - UTA
Proj Pts FD - 42.05 DK - 45.47

The power forward position is a complete mess at the moment and I am hoping it becomes much more clear as we approach lock. For now, the system loves paying up for Sabonis despite the tough matchup and it really comes down to the near-elite floor he has been providing with double-doubles in three straight and five of his last six games and is averaging a Timmy's on the season.

Keep an eye on the status of Tobias Harris(PHI) who has missed the last six games due to covid. If he were to miss again, Paul Reed would be in play as a punt

Center

Precious AchiuwaPrecious Achiuwa FD - $4900 DK - $4200
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 23.38 DK - 24.22

To help fit in three to four big names at other positions, the system loves the PTS/$ value with Achiuwa. While he didn't start the last two games, he still played over his season average minutes in both and even with just three points last game put up 6x value on both sites. That value comes almost exclusively from his rebounding as he has posted eight or more in five straight games and is averaging 8.7 on the season. He now faces a 76ers team that ranks dead last in rebounding and could be without Joel Embiid. Lock and load in all formats!
