Point Guard

Luka DoncicLuka Doncic FD - $11200 DK - $11600
Opponent - OKC
Proj Pts FD - 57.46 DK - 62.69

Jalen BrunsonJalen Brunson FD - $5800 DK - $6400
Opponent - OKC
Proj Pts FD - 34.04 DK - 36.61

The Dallas Mavericks come into this game as heavy favorites against the Thunder, and for good reason. They are way better. So there’s some blowout risk here for sure. But one would have to think that in order to get there you’d be getting some pretty big games out of these two. Kristaps Porzingis is on the shelf now, meaning even more of the offensive (and it was already a lot) will now run through Doncic and Brunson. With Porzingis off the court this season, Doncic pushes the usage rate up towards 38% (it’s about 35% regularly) and the rebounding rate ticks up as well. He’s already one of the higher floor guys out there as it is. The price is through the roof, but he offers as much safety as anyone on this slate.

And then there is Brunson who has been sharing the court with Luka a lot more of late after joining the starting lineup on a permanent basis. That’s for sure cut into his per-minute fantasy production. But he should also see an uptick here with Staps out and Kidd is likely to stagger their minutes once again. I like Brunson for a higher usage rate in this game and don’t think that his price reflects that he is truly the second option in the offense for this game. The Thunder aren’t total pushovers on the defensive end and they run a slower pace, but these guys are still very much cash game options.

Shooting Guard

Jordan ClarksonJordan Clarkson FD - $5700 DK - $6400
Opponent - DEN
Proj Pts FD - 34.21 DK - 37.83

Donovan Mitchell remains out and ow Joe Ingles has been lost for the season. All of a sudden, the Jazz are really short on offensive creators in the short-term. The Jazz have lost five straight, but Clarkson played 34 minutes last time out when the team was short-handed, taking the second-most shots after Mike Conley. They’ll need him to round the scoring here against the Nuggets who also are stumbling a bit. I don’t think Clarkson’s price has fully corrected for what should be a starting role on Wednesday. The usage looks to be solid and the Jazz are going to really need his scoring.

Josh GiddeyJosh Giddey FD - $6000 DK - $7900
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 36 DK - 40.2

Without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander against the Blazers on Monday, Giddey took over a lot of the offense and led the Thunder to a somewhat surprising win over the Trailblazers at home. He was solid, going for 14 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists overall. He struggled a bit from the field, and the assist total feels a bit low, but in all, you will take this kind of production at the FanDuel price point. It’s getting a little steep on DraftKings. I don’t mind the matchup against Dallas here who will be without Kristaps Porzingis and still think the Thunder will play Giddey here for 33 minutes almost no matter the situation or score. He makes for a solid floor FanDuel play.

Malik Monk (FD 6600 DK 5300) played a ton of minutes last game in the starting role for the Lakers and was amazing. The DraftKings price is still a tad too low.

Small Forward

Cedi OsmanCedi Osman FD - $4400 DK - $4600
Opponent - HOU
Proj Pts FD - 29.73 DK - 31.51

Point-Cedi? It sure looks like it. Osman took over the reins for the Cavs offense on Monday with Darius Garland out, getting the start at point guard and performing admirably in the role. He ended up playing 38 minutes in the win over New Orleans and finished with 12 assists in all. He scored seven points as well, though ran super bad from the field, shooting just 3-16 and 0-7 from three. There is actually still massive fantasy upside at these prices for Osman who should draw the start once again, and this time has about the best fantasy matchup there is against the Rockets. He’s basically a lock in cash considering the salaries, the new role, and the opponent.

Dorian Finney-SmithDorian Finney-Smith FD - $4200 DK - $4400
Opponent - OKC
Proj Pts FD - 25.77 DK - 27.37

If looking to round out lineups with a play on the cheaper side of things, I think Dorian Finney-Smith definitely fits the bill. With Kristaps Porzingis out of the lineup, he is in line for more minutes as a stretch wing who can guard multiple positions. With Staps off the court this season, DFS sees bumps across the board including a 6% tick up in usage and 4% boost in rebounds. For a guy coming at the lower end of the salary scale, these are meaningful increases and he should get more run as well. He played 38 minutes last game after Kristaps went out with the injury.

Power Forward/ Center

Anthony DavisAnthony Davis FD - $9600 DK - $10200
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 51.25 DK - 52.08

In the last two games with Lebron off the court because of injury, the Lakers have needed a ton from Anthony Davis. And that’s set to continue with LBJ now out for a bit longer. In those two, AD is averaging 29 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.5 defensive stats while playing major minutes. It’s all adding up to him coming up as a safer option which almost never feels good with this dude. The ongoing propensity for injury is still very much a real thing, but there’s almost no way around it especially on the FanDuel price point. Against the Blazers, I think we can run him out there without much hesitation and should just assume everything will go well and he’ll play a ton of minutes.

Isaiah JacksonIsaiah Jackson FD - $6000 DK - $5400
Opponent - ORL
Proj Pts FD - 34.71 DK - 34.19

With Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner, and then Goga Bitadze all out, the Pacers turned to Isaiah Jackson on Monday to log a bunch of center minutes. And the dude was a complete beast. He totaled 26 points and 10 rebounds in his 29 minutes. He was a total chalk play coming at very low price points, and those have corrected some in the short term. But not enough. Sure, he saw an increase, but not really in line with what we can expect from this guy on a per-minute basis. Against the Magic, he should once again push towards 30 minutes and still has a very high floor. I think we can play him on both sites, but especially DraftKings.

Maxi Kleber (FD 4800 DK 4100) is likely to see a ton of opportunity in this game with Porzingis out. He’s coming so, so cheap on DraftKings that I think you can take the risk even though the usage is typically pretty low on this dude.

Against the Rockets, it sure seems like one of Jarrett Allen (FD 7600 DK 7700) or Evan Mobley (FD 6900 DK 7400) could be up for a monster game. But without a fanatic offense initiator (Osman ain’t that guy even though his numbers were okay last game) it does become a bit difficult for these guys. That being said, they are still getting one of the best DFS matchups out there. And neither is breaking the bank for you.
