Point Guard

Shake MiltonShake Milton FD - $5700 DK - $6300
Opponent - LAL
Proj Pts FD - 32 DK - 33.06
The Sixers have been through hell with injuries in the short term with them losing Ben Simmons (no timetable) and then Joel Embiid and now Josh Richardson will sit with a concussion. That’s meant losses in two of the last three but also led to the emergence of Shake Milton as a legit fantasy option. In the last three games Milton has been scoring machine averaging 29 points and five assists per game. He took 20 shots against the Clippers and that number could sustain considering Philly is really short on legit scoring options at this point. This is a bad matchup against the Lakers, but Milton isn’t priced up enough considering the uptick in usage and the Sixers’ woes.

De'Aaron FoxDe'Aaron Fox FD - $7500 DK - $8000
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 41.7 DK - 42.06
The Kings have won five in a row and are still in the discussion (kind of) for a playoff berth in the Western Conference. On Tuesday they draw a fantastic matchup against Washington who rank as the second worst defensive efficiency in the league this season while also playing a top-six pace. Fox, unlike some other point guards is a little more scoring dependent but the pace-up matchup should lend itself to volume shooting. That being said, there is at least some risk here because the Kings haven’t pressed his minutes beyond 33 in the last two weeks. But he should have a high floor because of the context.

If Fred VanVleet remains out then Kyle Lowry (FD 6900 DK 8100) is still in play for cash games.

Shooting Guard

Devin BookerDevin Booker FD - $7500 DK - $8300
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 42.29 DK - 44.6
The Suns are without Kelly Oubre and that’s led, in some part, to a ton of minutes in the short term for Booker who’s played 38 or more in four of the last five games. That being said, with defenses focusing a bit more on the Suns’ star the usage hasn’t been there in the way we would have thought and he hasn’t attempted more than 20 shots in a game over that stretch. This is a bad matchup for the Suns against the Raptors, but I do think we are still buying relatively low on Booker considering the circumstances.

D'Angelo RussellD'Angelo Russell FD - $8500 DK - $9000
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 50.99 DK - 53.79
The Timberwolves are still without Karl-Anthony Towns, and still pretty bad, but that’s left a lot of usage for D'Angelo Russell since coming over in the trade from the Warriors. He’s taken 18 or more shots in each of the last four games and since the trade deadline is averaging 23 points, 7.6 assists and five rebounds per game. On Tuesday he’ll draw a matchup against the Pelicans who run a super-fast pace in a game with a whopping 246.5 over/under (!). There’s some blowout risk her with New Orleans favored by 11.5 but Russell played 37 minutes last game in one the T-Wolves lost by 20 so I’m not overly concerned with him getting totally buzzed on run.

Like with Lowry, if FVV sits then Norman Powell (FD 4900 DK 5700) has been seeing opportunity running with the starters.

Small Forward

Small forward is a tough one to figure as of right now with so much injury information hanging out there on a big slate. Let’s start with LeBron James (FD 10500 DK 11400) who would be the top play at the position if Anthony Davis were to sit again. On Sunday without Davis, Lebron went completely off against the Pelicans finishing with 34 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds in the win. He has a 34.7 usage rate with Davis off the court this season and was in full takeover mode last time out. The issue is Lebron is a much less attractive play at these prices if Davis plays so we’ll need to wait and see.

Similarly, the Raptors have some news we’re waiting on right now with both Fred VanVleet and Serge Ibaka. If both were to sit again then Pascal Siakam (FD 8200 DK 8700) and OG Anunoby (FD 5700 DK 6500) look like solid plays at the position. The latter has played a ton in the short-term, running 40 minutes in each of the last two games with and last one put up 32 points with seven steals. He’s still priced on the lower side of this new opportunity. But again, I’d feel much more comfortable with both if Toronto continues playing shorthanded.

If the above plays don’t work out, you can go back to the Tobias Harris (FD 7300 DK 8200) well with the Sixers decimated by injuries right now. But he draws a very tough matchup against the Lakers.

Power Forward

Trey LylesTrey Lyles FD - $5400 DK - $5200
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 31.33 DK - 33.3
LaMarcus Aldridge is doubtful for this game and Jakob Poeltl remains out. That’s left quite a few minutes for Trey Lyles over the last couple of games. He’s played 40 and 37 minutes respectively with San Antonio short on bigs and averaged 20 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 blocks. That’s more than enough production at these prices and he should be in line for quite a few minutes again on Tuesday against the Hornets. The price has crept up some so he’s not a complete lock on both sites, but if other injury info doesn’t shake out he’s a cash game play for sure.

Harry GilesHarry Giles FD - $4900 DK - $5600
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 31.4 DK - 30.98
Nemanja BjelicaNemanja Bjelica FD - $4800 DK - $6000
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 32.83 DK - 33.56
The Kings draw a fantastic matchup against the Wizards on Monday and both of these guys make attractive plays at a relatively weak power forward position. On a per minute basis both Giles and Bjelica are more than viable at their current production with the issue being where to set the minutes. Both were buzzed off run last game in a close win against Detroit. Giles played 20 (though was productive) and Bjelica played only 24 (and really wasn’t). These kind of scenarios are scary from a cash game perspective because neither are coming at punt prices anymore. But, in general, that hasn’t been the case with the Kings’ rotations so I do have just enough trust here around both.

Center

Bismack BiyomboBismack Biyombo FD - $4800 DK - $4300
Opponent - SA
Proj Pts FD - 30.1 DK - 31.14
Biyombo should remain the starter at center against the Spurs with Cody Zeller seemingly out of the rotation. Bismack has started the last three, going for 33 and 30 fantasy points before having the minutes cut to 22 in a closer game against the Bucks. That being said, he’s still an excellent value on both sites (though especially on DraftKings) where even a 25 minute projection would have him in cash games against a Spurs team lacking much in the way of size right now. The Spurs were out rebounded by the Pacers last night and that should be a theme going forward playing without their typical bigs.

After Biyombo, the center position on both sites gets real bad, real fast. Midrange options like Steven Adams (FD 6300 DK 6200) and Marquese Chriss (FD 6000 DK 5800) are moderately interesting though both are in tough matchups with Adams going against the Clippers and Chriss against Denver. That being said, if you are worried about Biyombo really getting buzzed on minutes then it’s unlikely for either of those guys to kill you at their respective price points.
