Let's kick this thing off with the top projected point guard in our system for tonight. Morant has been on an absolute heater lately putting up 50+ fantasy points in four straight while averaging 28.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game. The third-year pro has improved in every single area this season and now gets an up-pace matchup against the Rockets(1st in pace). The only concern here is the blowout factor as the Grizzlies are 11 point favorites but I am not too concerned as he has been held under 30 minutes just once(29.5 minutes) all season. Fire up Morant in all formats.
With Jaylen Brown expected to be out once again on Monday, we can go back to Schroder who has been terrific while getting some added usage. Over the last four games with no Brown, Schroder has averaged 20.8 shots and 26.5 points while adding an average of 4.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. Even in a low-scoring loss to Cleveland on Saturday, he managed to hit 5x value and that is what I have his floor pegged at tonight. All things considered, Schroder is in play for me in all formats, especially on fanDuel where the price still hovers below $6K.
This game has my full attention tonight and it starts with the fact it has the highest total(220.5) on the slate and is expected to stay close(MIN +4). The matchup itself for Edwards doesn't look great on paper as the Suns are a Top 10 defensive team but this isn't new for Edwards who has faced the Clippers and Lakers four times in his last six games. What really grabs my attention here is that Edwards' price is trending down on DraftKings and is back below $8K which puts him in play for me in all formats.
Alex Caruso FD - $4400 DK - $4000
Opponent - LAL
Proj Pts FD - 25.88 DK - 25.04
Another game I got my eye on tonight is the late game between the Bulls and Lakers which is projected by Vegas to be the closest game of the night and also has one of the highest totals(218.5). Let's start with some value as Alex Caruso is coming off his first start and best fantasy performance of the season last night(34 DK/36 FD) despite a terrible shooting performance(2 for 11). He is projected to start again tonight in a pace-up matchup and at his price, has a near-elite PTS/$ floor for cash games with a ton of upside for GPP.
Gary Trent Jr. FD - $7000 DK - $5800
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 29.99 DK - 31.01
With top players like Lebron James and Jaylen Brown out and DFSR favorite OG continually raising our blood pressure, I will be taking the value approach at the position. It starts with OG's teammate Gary Trent who has seen an uptick in usage lately with 16 shots in each of his last two games which has resulted in him eclipsing 5x value on both sites. The minutes(34 per game) are never an issue and the Raps get a plus matchup tonight facing a Trail Blazers team that is playing on a back-to-back and rank 23rd in defensive efficiency. I am not as interested on FanDuel where price is a little steep but on DraftKings, Trent is in play in all formats.
Duncan Robinson FD - $5500 DK - $4700
Opponent - OKC
Proj Pts FD - 24.58 DK - 27.43
Duncan Robinson has also seen an uptick in usage with double-digit shot attempts in three straight and finally put together a shooting game on Saturday tallying a season-high 22 points. Like Trent, he is very reliant on shooting, specifically from behind the arc and the good news for both is that their opponents are tied allowing the third-most three's per game(14) on the season. That is more than enough for me to include both as top PTS.$ values on this huge slate.
Anthony Davis FD - $10700 DK - $10400
Opponent - CHI
Proj Pts FD - 57.07 DK - 57.97
We have gone over a ton of PTS/$ value in this article and it's now time to spend some of that saved salary cap. Despite playing on a back-to-back, I can make a strong argument for AD as a top pay up tonight and it starts with the absence of Lebron James. Outside of the one game where Davis left early, he has averaged 21 shots, 28 points, 13.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.4 blocks over five games with LBJ out of the lineup. That is an elite 1.5 fantasy points per minute and with a ton of his fantasy scoring reliant on rebounds, the Bulls rank 26th in that area adding even more value. If you are worried about the back-t0-back, he played 42/36 min in his first back-to-back earlier this year. Lock and load in all formats!
Chimezie Metu FD - $4100 DK - $3500
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 26.78 DK - 29.3
Ok back to the value on this slate as it is hard to ignore a player at near min prices who is not only projected to start but has also been very productive lately. He made his first start of the season on Friday playing a season-high 24 minutes and put up a season-high 14 points. That is now back-to-back games with double-digit point totals(14/13) and 20+ fantasy point totals. His strength and biggest fantasy asset is rebounding and that is great news as the Pistons are dead last in rebounding on the season. If Metu starts, he will be a top PTS/$ play in my player pool.
Myles Turner FD - $7700 DK - $6700
Opponent - NY
Proj Pts FD - 37.96 DK - 38.51
First of all, our system absolutely love Jokic tonight but for me personally, I will be paying up for Morant and Davis. With that, at the center position, I love going to the mid-tier and rostering a consistent fantasy producer in Myles Turner. His price on DraftKings is the lowest it has been in a week and at the current price he is averaging oer 5x PTS/$ value on the season. The usage in the offense is the lowest of the five starters but his consistency comes from the defensive output as he averages 8.1 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game. He is close to being priced out on FanDuel but is in a great spot on DraftKings and my top PTS/$ center.
