    • 2022(St. Andrews) - Cameron Smith(-20)
    • 2021(Royal St. George's) - Collin Morikawa(-15)
    • 2019(Royal Portrush) - Shane Lowry(-15)
    • 2018(Carnoustie) - Francesco Molinari(-8)
    • 2017(Royal Birkdale) - Jordan Spieth(-12)

    Top Targets

    Scottie Scheffler
    World Golf Ranking (#1)
    Vegas Odds (8/1)
    DraftKings ($12,500)
    FanDuel ($12,100)

There has been a shift in pricing on DraftKings extending the floor down to $5,500 which, in turn, allows them to price up the elite guys like they would a normal event. While I will have exposure to both Rory and Scottie, I feel Rory is going to be higher owned being $600 cheaper and coming off a win at the Scottish last week so I will go a little heavier n Scheffler for some projected leverage. Hard not to pay the premium for Scheffler who is putting up some ridiculous numbers and should easily have more than two wins on the season. He has gone 17 straight events finishing 12th or better and to top it off comes into the OPEN with seven straight Top 5 finishes. Looking at the Tee to Green numbers we can easily see why he is on another level as he has not finished outside the Top in SG: T2G in 11 straight events. Absolutely insane and probably the most overdue player in the field!

    Cameron Smith
    World Golf Ranking (#7)
    Vegas Odds (14/1)
    DraftKings ($10,700)
    FanDuel ($11,500)

The defending champ could possibly provide some leverage as I would project many lineups starting with an $11K golfer and then dropping down into the $9K range focused around Fleetwood. Even if this is not the case, I am very high on Cam Smith who not only won here last year but has been red-hot coming in with a win in London on the LIV Tour and has also tallied a T4 at the U.S. Open and T9 at the PGA Championship. Overall, between the two tours, he has a win and seven Top 10's in his last eight events(12th in the other event). While he is average off the tee, he has been elite in every other facet of the game. If he finds the fairway this week, he should once again be in contention for a major championship.

    Corey Conners
    World Golf Ranking (#30)
    Vegas Odds (100/1)
    DraftKings ($7,700)
    FanDuel ($9,500)

After missing the cut in his OPEN debut back in 2019, Conners has been above-average on links-style courses, and picked up a T28 last year at St. Andrews and a T15 in 2021 at Royal St. George's. He is coming off a T19 at the Scottish Open and is a terrific course fit for Royal Liverpool this week with the importance of hitting fairways and overall ball striking. In this elite field, he ranks 7th in SG: Off the Tee, 15th in Fairways gained, 14th in SG: Approach, and 20th in DK scoring. At these prices, he is a core play for me in all formats.

    Brian Harman
    World Golf Ranking (#26)
    Vegas Odds (110/1)
    DraftKings ($7,300)
    FanDuel ($8,000)

We can't talk positional courses without mentioning Brian Harman and at these prices, is one of my favourite PTS/$ value plays in the field. He checks all the boxes starting with the form as he has bounced back in a big way after a rough stretch in May and has not only made four straight cuts but has three straight finishes of 12th or better with two Top 10's and a runner-up at the Travelers. Like Conners, he has also found success at the OPEN over the last two years finishing T19 in 2021 and T6 last year. He is in play for me in all formats.

    Robert MacIntyre
    World Golf Ranking (#54)
    Vegas Odds (50/1)
    DraftKings ($6,800)
    FanDuel ($8,900)

MacIntyre was oh-so-close to picking up a home win at the Scottish Open last week and he will be looking to carry this summer momentum over to the year's final major. The good news there is that he has been solid in OPEN's early in his career with back-to-back Top 10's in 2019 and 2021 and a T34 last year. He is Top 10 in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green on the DP World Tour this season which has led him to not missing a cut and tallying five Top 10's(two straight). He is going to be chalky at these prices but checks too many boxes to pass up this week.

Players on DraftKings I have in my player pool under $6K: Richie Ramsay, Marcel Siem, Matthew Southgate, Alex Fitzpatrick
