NFL Week 13 Review

In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

Impressive Performances

Andrew Luck - 278 yards, 4 TD

Luck took on the Jets Monday night, and had a big game. He ended up with 4 touchdowns, but was very close to a 5th a few different times. Luck should be able to thrive as they year goes on against a few poor pass defenses. With most of his top option back and healthy, you have to think Luck should be in for a few more big games.

David Johnson - 84 rushing yards, 91 receiving yards, 2 totals TD's

David Johnson is as good as they come. I look at Elliot, DJ and Bell on the same level, and a little bit higher than anyone else. He will continue to be a fantastic play down the stretch and I see no reason to expect anything less than 16 points on a weekly basis. Johnson is the focal point of the Cardinals offense with Palmer struggling as of late.

Jordan Howard - 117 yards, 3 TD

Howard had an amazing match up, and he took advantage. He finished with 3 touchdowns, and 117 yards, which should of been more if it weren't for a few holding calls. The 49ers are known as one of the worst rush defenses in the last 10 years. That being said, I am still impressed with Howard. This solidified his job and we know who will get the carries here on out. He is a good play, but be careful with the Bears as a whole.

Golden Tate - 145 yards, TD

This is another guy that was in a terrific match up. The Saints have always been horrible against the Pass and Tate took advantage. Stafford looked to him on a regular basis and Tate came through every time. He also got in the end zone, which just capped the great day. He is the top option for Stafford and makes a good play if the match up is right.

Dwayne Allen - 72 yards, 3 TD

Allen was targeted 5 times in the redzone, with 7 throws in the zone. Luck trusts him a lot and that is something you love to see down the stretch. Allen is a big body and has very good hands. I could see him being a TD machine down the stretch, but doubt he reaches this ceiling again.

Ladarius Green - 110 yards, TD

There has been a ton of hype around Green, and he definitely came through. Green caught 6 passes on 11 targets for 110 and a TD. The Giants are pretty good against the pass,so this is definitely impressive. Green could definitely be a great player down the stretch, but I will reserve him for my tournaments until I see 1 more performance like that.

Notable performances - Joe Flacco, Thomas Rawls, Jordy Nelson, Broncos D, Matt Prater

Under-achievers

Drew Brees - 326 yards, 0 TD, 3 interceptions

Boy, this was horrible. Brees struggles all day and just couldn't get a rhythm going on offense. From drops to false starts, the Saints just weren't having a good day. Looking forward, I am willing to trust Brees. He hiccuped, but I am willing got trust the 7 year sample size. That says he is a top 2 QB at home and takes on some very weak opponents to end the season. He remains a very strong play.

Michael Thomas - 4 catches, 42 yards

This is just a result of the Brees struggle. Thomas is somewhat reliant on TD's, so that wll go up in the future weeks. Thomas remains a good play just as Brees does.

Marquess Wilson - 0 catches, 0 yards

Wilson had 1 target through 6 minutes, and was then forced to leave the game with a groin injury. He was only 6% owned, but a 0 hurts a ton. He was a god play going in, and he could be a good play if he returns soon. Keep an eye on the injury report.
