Want picks for FanDuel, Draftster, and Draftday as well? Check em out. It has been three and a half years since I played in my first daily fantasy football league contest. I heard about daily fantasy (DF) while listening to the XM radio station dedicated to fantasy sports (what a sweet radio gig). The initial week I deposited $100 and fumbled through the user interface of DraftStreet (which was bought by DraftKings this year). I had no idea what I was getting into, but within 30 minutes I knew I had found my next obsession. My first week was as close to perfect as possible, winning every contest I entered. Yet, even a perfect week does not equate to much profit when investing a meager $100 and sticking to double up and triple up formats. I would have scoffed at the idea of making 10 - 15 thousand dollars in a single day playing fantasy sports but soon realized that this was a reality for some DF sharks. It wasn’t till my second year of playing that I discovered the chance that a single lucky soul would have a chance to win a million bucks in a single DF contest. This blew my mind and still does to this very day. Not just the fact that a person could make a million in a single week from playing something as childish as fantasy football, but the extreme level of stress and excitement that comes on Monday Night Football. No matter the score, every last second of the game counts for us DF junkies. So here we are, week 5 of the 2014 NFL season, and DraftKings is offering a single contest where the winner gets, yes, $1,000,000 American dollars. With a possible field of 92,400 entrants, where some DK high-rollers are entering upwards of 100 to 200 times (only $27 per entry), this event is sure to attract every level of fantasy football fanatic. The difference between first place and second place...

Want picks for FanDuel, Draftster, and Draftday as well? Check em out. As promised, this is my second of two posts for week 4. If you missed my Thursday edition then shame on you. Luckily, it’s still on the site just go filter through the NFL archives. Most 0f the Thursday picks are still good to go for Sunday, however, my expectations have altered on a few and I discuss this below. Before we talk picks, can I make one thing very clear? IF YOU GET 3.0 VALUE FROM EVERY PLAYER YOU CHOOSE ON DRAFTKINGS YOU WILL MAKE MONEY. Stacks, chalupa, doll lala lala lotz of paypa. We talkin’ cheddar here and I ain’t from Wisconsin….But seriously, it is that simple, not to mention I do most of the heavy lifting for you. When making any sort of prediction, it is vital to have a single metric to track your progress and “value” (i.e. points per $1,000) is both simple and revealing. Included in every post I intend to give you a few thoughts on general strategy and know-how when it comes to winning at Daily Fantasy. Unfortunately, this week’s thought is more of a warning, or caveat, or whatever the hell you want to call it. As much as I would love to win every single week, there is a single variable that is not only completely unpredictable, but also extremely detrimental to a profitable week…As Forrest Gump once said, “It Happens.” In this case, the “it” translates to one of your core players going down with a game-ending injury in the first quarter of the game. It’s inevitable and you can only...

Let us all take a second to smile and realize how awesome it is to be an American and have the privilege to watch this 21st century version of Gladiator every week from September to January. The pain these guys endure and the risk they take the moment they step on the field is truly under appreciated. See Lawrence Timmons’ hit on his own teammate, Ike Taylor. Let us also recognize that the large majority of NFL players and management are NOT Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, Greg Hardy, Roger Goodell, etc. Even with the negative publicity the fact remains that this game is the most entertaining sport in the world. My British girlfriend will roll her eyes once she reads this as she would still rather watch a 1-0 Everton vs. Manchester City game, but I digress. I plan on providing two articles a week for the remainder of the NFL season, a Wednesday edition that will feature my early week plays based upon match ups and price. I will also post a Saturday edition that will cover my cheaper, value picks which always come to fruition later in the week. Let us quickly touch on last week picks.   Week 3 Recap At the QB position, I, and the rest of the world, told you to start Drew Brees and he burned us all...sorta. He threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns, good for 2.19 value in DraftKings terms (Reminder: “value” is a metric discussed last week where,...

Hit it Bryce:   Before we get started, here are three keys to success on DraftKings and daily leagues in general: KNOW YOUR VALUE You will consistently see me refer back to the term "value". Determining the value of a player only takes some basic mathematics (some fourth and fifth grade level stuff here, people!) In Draftkings, I always shoot for 3 points per $1,000 spent or in other words if a player costs $6,000 then I need him to get 18 points in order to reach his value. If all players I select reach value then each of my lineups should average 150 points which will guarantee victory in every single double up league and almost guarantee a minimum cash in any GPP multi-entry league. Disclaimer: 3 points per $1,000 is a HIGH value mark. In reality, if you can get 2.5 points per $1,000 then you should safely profit from week to week, but we're not looking for safe profit...we want MASSIVE GAINS! YOUR BEST WEAPON IS YOUR OWN TWO EYES The best way to know how a player is performing from week to week is by watching the game! I know, thank you captain obvious; but if you plan on putting up more than a couple bucks, I highly suggest watching as much live game action as you can. There are hundreds of sites that post positional rankings based on statistics of previous games and this is fine for your start 'em or sit 'em questions in your yearly "family" league. However, often times stats can be very misleading. Stats...
