Draftster has a ton of cool stuff going on including the a whole host of Freerolls.  Reminder: This article explores Draftster-specific value and will hone in on some of the major pricing differences we see there. Much like DraftKings, the Draftster model has wider range of salaries, offering some fantastic punt-play value. Keep this in mind.     Quarterback Russell Wilson - $6500 If you are looking for the most value relative to the salary then this is the quarterback to play on Draftster. Seems crazy to think this is who you would run out there on a slate that featured Luck, Brady and Rodgers, but Wilson is coming in so cheap relative to the field. Against a Carolina D that was in the top ten in least yards allowed from scrimmage this season, Wilson threw for 268 yards and 3 TDs. He also chucked in 22 yards rushing. It’s the space he takes with his legs that always gives the dude a high floor. Green Bay’s D isn’t bad, they ranked right around Carolina in total yards. It’s just that I think you are getting so many expected points in relation to price that it becomes diminishing returns spending up for the higher-priced QBs. Granted, making the money work on Draftster (or really anywhere this week) is very tough and you may be in a situation where you have more than enough left over to spend up to say, Luck. It’s that kind of week. But from a value perspective, Wilson is your guy on Draftster.   Running Backs Marshawn Lynch - $6600 In cash games, I’d play both he and Wilson. While I do think it would very difficult for both he and Russell to...

Daily Fantasy Football Picks for Week 11 – Draftster

Draftster has a ton of cool stuff going on including the a whole host of Freerolls   Quarterbacks Andrew Luck - I'm willing to spend here. There is value to be had on Draftster this week in some of the other areas so I don't think you are really forced into skimping at all on the quarterback. In what should be a really high-scoring, fun game to watch, Luck stands to pay value even as the highest priced QB on the board. Luck's floor is just so high considering how much the Colts are committed to the throw. Luck is responsible for something close to 66% of the Colts' total offense between his arm and his legs. He's super safe even at these prices considering the game's Vegas projections. Cam Newton - $7000 If you want to go a little cheaper consider Cam here at relatively cheap prices. He saved his day in garbage time against the Eagles, but the history books will say he was bad rather than just being a total and complete nightmare. The Falcons rank dead last in the NFL against the pass and really aren't exactly stout against the run. I know Cam has had his troubles this season. It's all on the table here. But if you are looking for a QB that could significantly outpace his salary then this is your guy. He has multiple TD upside and his ability with his legs really gives him a way to outstrip his tag. It's speculative of course, but the matchup is choice. Look,   Running Backs Mark Ingram - $6300 The case for Ingram is easy, he gets all of the carries out of...

A peek ahead at week 10 Looking for the week 10 picks? Follow the link! I go position by position and give you whom I believe to be the best plays, dollar for dollar, for Week 8's games. This article is going to be a little bit different. Instead, I'm going to focus on particular lineup formation strategies that might help you get some separation from the field and get those value plays and sleepers that will let you spend money elsewhere while cashing in for cheap.   Sleepers Weekly disclaimer: The whole concept of a sleeper in one week fantasy football games needs to be adjusted. First of all, there's no real such thing as a "sleeper," in that you're not really going to sleep on a guy until he wakes up. What you're looking at with cheap plays are guys who are priced very reasonably who could go off if all things break right. Sniffing out the best cheap plays with upside is really the only way to have a chance in hell at taking down some of these utterly massive NFL tournaments. You'll pay up for the big names, and then hope your bargain plays pay off. That's where we come in - here are some sleepers that we love for Week 10. A note on week 10 Bye week hell, part three has us left with very little in the way of great cheap options this week. A lot of cheap options, like Bobby Rainey, or Denard Robinson, can hardly be called "sleepers" at this point. So this will be more value plays than true sleepers. We cool? Let's do it. Mark Sanchez - FD 6600 DK 5400 DD 11500 DFSTR 5100 Really far from a sleeper here, given how he picked up the pieces after Foles' injury last week. Let's be real - there is a LOT not...

Daily Fantasy Football Picks for Week 9 – Draftster

And now - for the next month - you can get access to our Football projection tools AND our baskeball projection tools for the same price! Sick deal. We have our general picks for Week 9. This piece will examine some Draftster-specific value as this site tends to quickly adjust prices quickly and severely. This is great news for you as identifying players who are priced as punts is a money-making venture for you. Here we go. Quarterbacks Robert Griffin III - $3100 Because Draftster price-corrects pretty quickly you have a great scenario here. Griffin is coming back to start this week and is coming at the minimum price. That's almost too good to pass up. Even if you think he is playing at say, 75%, you are getting a dynamic quarterback with a live arm leading the offense at a punt price. I'm actually hesitant to really recommend anyone else just because this allows you significant upside with almost no downside. If just has an average game you still hit value. In the game before he was injured Griffin threw for 267 yards. No touchdowns, but that could be some run bad. I doubt he gets out into the open field too much coming back from injury, but I really can't express how great of a value this is here. Take advantage. These are the situations we wait for in DFS. Consider this: He's the cheapest quarterback on the board and 66% less than the top plays for the week. Is he 66% worse than those guys? No chance. Quick note: This is also did me a huge favor because I was really struggling with QB this week here Consider Ryan Fitzpatrick but not really, because you should just be playing RGIII.   Running Backs Marshawn Lynch - $7300 Because you are getting money in great at RGIII at QB you can afford to spend...

Want picks for FanDuel, Draftster, and Draftday as well? Check em out. One question I am constantly asking myself is, “Has daily fantasy sports hit its peak?” Based on the revenue projections of FanDuel and DraftKing’s, clearly the sites expect much more participation in the future. As I have mentioned in my previous articles, this is my third year of playing Daily Fantasy sports and every year I see a spike in advertisement and player participation. Recently, I have been playing a lot of poker. I mean a lot. No limit Texas Hold’em specifically, cash game and tournaments. If you didn’t already know, the poker world and the daily fantasy world have melded quite nicely. The competition, the analysis, even the user interface of DraftKings reminds me of a 2014 online poker website (college; those were the days). When playing poker for 8-12 hours in a row, you’ll find yourself in constant conversation about sports; betting lines, the weekend’s big game, the local team’s disappointments (Tampa Bay Bucs and Rays for me). However, every time I bring up daily fantasy to a table of 9-10 players, very little speak up. One out of the ten normally seem to know exactly what I am talking about leaving me to guess they actually have an online account. Another two or three admit to knowing that it exists, but their basic questions show they’ve never actually put together a team. The rest of the table either refuses to take out their headphones or shows genuine interest in something they’ve never heard of before. The fact is that daily fantasy sports HAS NOT reached its peak. In my opinion, not even close. If daily fantasy sports can stay legal under the “fantasy loophole” then I expect to see more and more new players, easier competition, and bigger payouts. I did not post a Thursday article this week for two reasons. Massive amounts of poker being the first while the second was the oddities of last...
