Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and DraftStreet 3/21/14

Friday. Oh thank heavens. It's Friday at last. The time to absolve ourselves from the sins of the week and start the weekend fresh, clean and profiting. It's a huge Friday in the DFS world and we've got your value picks lined up. As is often the case with big slates like this one, things will change over the course of the day. But these are the players who stand the best chance to it value.

Point Guards

John Wall - FanDuel $8,600 DraftKings $9,100 DraftStreet $17,968
The top point guard on the board tonight because he'll be flying up and down the court with the Lakers. The Lakers, over the last two weeks are allowing a whopping 35% more scoring and 22% more assists than league average to opposing point guards. Yikes. Wall's home/road splits are the only thing that knock him down a bit, but overall he seems about as safe as it gets.

Raymond Felton - FanDuel $5,600 DraftKings $5,600 DraftStreet $9,683
Last time they played Philly, Felton was well on his way to crushing value and the game turned into a rout. I think there's a slightly better chance it stays close in with the Sixers at home and they've been punchy lately, staying in games against the Bulls and Pacers. I am not sure Felton has enormous upside at these prices, but he seems a favorite to hit value.

Russell Westbrook - FanDuel $8,900 DraftKings $8,800 DraftStreet $18,399
System likes him against Toronto tonight. I'm usually disinclined to start opposing point guards against slow teams like the Raptors, but with Westbrook sitting yesterday I can imagine a scenario in which he just wants to take over. This one is a bit more of a gut call, but I think you can go with it in a tournament looking for upside.

Michael Carter-Williams - FanDuel $7,500
MCW is playing major minutes, taking tons of shots, grabbing rebounds, dishing out assists. He's doing it all lately and the FD price hasn't come close to catching up.

Shaun Livingston - DraftKings $4,100
Still near punt prices here for a starter who handles the ball a fair amount.

Shooting Guards

Bradley Beal - FanDuel $6,300 DraftKings $6,300 DraftStreet $10,536
Beal, like all the rest of his teammates benefits from playing a team that hates defense. I like his price across the board, but maybe a bit more on non-efficiency sites like DK and FD because he will pump a ton of shots tonight. The DraftStreet price is low enough to work with even accounting for a bunch of misses.

DeMar DeRozan - FanDuel $7,900 DraftKings $7,900 DraftStreet $14,317
Hopefully you've been buying low on Derozan as he's broken out of the slump and is back to cracking out high scoring nights. He's averaging 30 points over his last two games and gets an OKC team that is below average against shooting guards. Last night Waiters put up 21 shots against them. Derozan is better than Waiters.*

Monta Ellis - FanDuel $7,200
I think you can consider him here against an uptempo Nugget team.

Rodney Stuckey - FanDuel $3,600
Needs to score to hit value because he doesn't really do anything else. But for now he's in the starting lineup, playing a bunch of minutes and should be able to score against Phoenix.

Tyreke Evans - DraftKings $6,200
Crazy low price here. Too good to pass up even if he's coming off the bench.

Small Forwards

Trevor Ariza - FanDuel $6,500 DraftKings $5,800 DraftStreet $12,782
Lakers. Lakers. Lakers. You get it. I've been dying for an Ariza-to-the-moon performance. This could be the night.

J.R. Smith - FanDuel $5,600 DraftKings $5,700 DraftStreet $12,531
The last time they played, JR went for 22/5/3. The difference was that Chandler sat that game and JR started. I don't think Smith sees the same kind of minutes tonight, but one reason I like him in this affair is that if the game is a blowout, he might see a bit more time with the second unit.

Kawhi Leonard - FanDuel $6,700 DraftKings $6,400 DraftStreet $13,162
I'm a huge fan of Kawhi's game and he gets a great matchup against the Kings tonight who are worse than league average against opposing small forwards. This pick is as much about price as anything else. These are super low salaries for his upside, especially on FD and DK. I'm really liking the safety he would provide as compared to the other two SF recs above.

Kyle Singler - FanDuel $4,300 DraftKings $4,100
Got a bump when Smoove got bounced two nights ago which helped him hit value. But this was after he got in some early foul trouble. So we'll call that even and say these prices are pretty solid considering he should see his minutes with Drummond out.

Ryan Kelly - FanDuel $4,800
Who knows with the Lakers.

Power Forwards

Carmelo Anthony - FanDuel $10,300 DraftKings $10,200 DraftStreet $19,023
The top dollar-for-dollar big money on the board tonight. The question is how much he plays. Personally, I think he gets a full run. I just think the Sixers are scrappy enough to hang against this Knick team. Melo had a horrendous shooting night in the their last meeting. Tonight? He pays.

Dirk Nowitzki - FanDuel $7,200 DraftKings $7,200 DraftStreet $14,225
Dirk faces off against the Nuggets who have been atrocious all season long against opposing power forwards. Dirk's been pretty underwhelming of late even with the 27 point game against the T-Wolves. His problem there wasn't the scoring, but everything else as he had three rebounds and no assists. He breaks out of it tonight.

Greg Monroe - FanDuel $7,800 DraftKings $7,800 DraftStreet $15,954
With Drummond out of the picture, Monroe becomes the big man down low (sounds oddly sexual) and I think he could really put a hurting on Phoenix. According to the numbers, the Suns have been pretty good of late against opposing centers, but that seems to be mostly because they haven't played against many real good, offensive-minded big men. Monroe could go 20/10+ tonight.

Amar'e Stoudemire - FanDuel $5,300 DraftKings $4,500 DraftStreet $10,830
Prices still haven't completely corrected for a guy playing close to thirty minutes a night. Plus, you know, Philly.

Anthony Davis - FanDuel $10,700 DraftKings $10,300
DraftStreet is probably too expensive, but go for it here. Power forward is super tough and I have all of these guys grouped rather closely.

Centers

Center on the other hand, blows. I had Gortat in here until he was a late scratch last night. Now, who knows. Will need to see how things shake out but I only have a few ways to go for value today.

Marc Gasol - FanDuel $7,400 DraftKings $7,600 DraftStreet $14,801
Miami is absolutely awful against opposing centers. Ready? 36% more points. 29% more rebounds. 47% more assists than league average. That's over the last two weeks. The season numbers aren't this bad, but they are still among the worst in the league. The Heat just don't have the bodies to man up against quality centers. Gasol should be able to dominate down low.

DeMarcus Cousins - FanDuel $9,400
You can consider this way on FanDuel tonight. He can put up big games and the Spurs are slightly worse than league average against opposing centers.

Tyson Chandler - DraftKings $5,300
Joke of a price.
