DFSR has partnered with ScoreStreak: a new, innovative style of DFS play. Gone is the salary finagling, mixing and matching, and hair-pulling that goes into setting lineups. ScoreStreak simplifies the process in an easy-to-use interface. Employing a prop-pick style, ScoresStreak leagues are specific outcome dependent with three categories: Total Bases, Hits, and for pitchers, Strikeouts.
New users who deposit through DFSR will get an extra $10 to play with. We are putting in picks every night and giving you some of our top plays each day. Two are on us, the third is all you. Or go your own way.
As always, if you are new to daily fantasy baseball, make sure read our Free Baseball e-book. It contains one mistake that basically everyone in the daily fantasy baseball industry is making!
Also be sure to sign up for a free 3-day trial to access the MLB system and spreadsheets that help produce our picks.
And give ScoreStreak a try. You'll like it as much as we do.
Today's picks are brought to you by Mark Hallman.
Dustin Pedroia
There are a couple reasons why I like Dustin today. Boston has absolutely clubbed the Indians during this series, like 15 runs in 2 games clubbing. Not only is the system VERY high on him today, he’s starting to feel pretty high on himself. He was in a major slump, but has broken out of it with hits in 2 of his las 3. It’s only a matter of time for Pedroia, whose slumping year should end soon, because his BABIP is right on point at .297. Maybe this series is what the BoSox, and Pedroia, needed to kick start their season. (Hopefully not coming from a dreaded Yanks fan, hold your fire). Plus he crushes lefties even in the worst of times.
Melky Cabrera
The Melk Man! Melky is a great play today across the DFS sites. He’s about as consistent as consistent comes, or when I play him he is anyways. He faces Bud Norris today, who is very prone to putting the ball in play, and in the air for that matter(almost a 40% fly ball pitcher). Melky, who has very underrated power, with 10 Home Runs and over 40 RBIs on the season. Melky very well could, and should go yard for the high flying Jays.
Andre McCutchen
Two very simple reasons to play Cutch for hits today. One, he is the best player on the system by a fair margin. The other, is his insane, alien-like BABIP. His Batting Average on Balls In Play is an astounding .363, about his career average which is more nuts. What this means, is as long as he doesn’t strike out, he’s batting an astronomical number. And he faces Randy Wolf today, who might just spontaneously combust into sand while on the mound, so there’s that.
Miguel Cabrera
You can always count on Miggy for one hit at least, right? The 6 foot 4 behemoth has been raking the ball lately. He has hits in 8 of his last 10 games, and 3 of those games were multi hit games. Miggy might finally be coming into his MVP form, and boy do the Tigers need it. Not to mention, Miggy faces Samuel Deduno today, who is horrid. His xFIP is in the mid-4’s. Miggy is as close as a guarantee as you’ll get today.
Stephen Strasburg
In a setting like Score Streak, where there is no salary cap, you’d almost be crazy not to slot in Stras in your lineup somewhere. At this point in the season, I’m very well convinced that his middle name is simply a letter, Stephen K Strasburg. He gets the Cardinals today, who is a really good hitting team, but there is no stopping a pitched when he’s on his game. Especially one of his caliber. His K/9 this season is over 11 and his K% is almost at 30%. That’s all I need to know, personally.
Zack Wheeler
The hope for all Mets’ fans since Matt Harvey got Tommy John, has been the progession of this kid, and a couple other prospects. His ERA is bloated, but his xFIP is a very good, 3.38. He has 75 strikeouts in 13 games and a K/9 of almost 10. That alone is enough for me to pick him. But let me throw this at you, he’s easily the best pitcher in our system today. Thats right, ahead of Strasburg and the others. AND, this keeps getting better I know, he faces the Padres today. Boom. Well, I should’ve told you that to start, but I wanted you to keep reading.
