Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 9/7/14

DFSR has partnered with ScoreStreak: a new, innovative style of DFS play. Gone is the salary finagling, mixing and matching, and hair-pulling that goes into setting lineups. ScoreStreak simplifies the process in an easy-to-use interface. Employing a prop-pick style, ScoresStreak leagues are specific outcome dependent with three categories: Total Bases, Hits, and for pitchers, Strikeouts.

Total Bases

Mike Trout
It hasn't been the greatest start to this whole major league pitching thing for Logan Darnell, and it isn't about to get any better. He'll take on Trout and the Angels on Sunday, and when Trout marches to the plate, it might be the mismatch of the season. You can take Trout for hits or total bases, but just make sure he's topping one of your lists.

Edwin Encarnacion
The way E5 has been slamming the ball recently, he probably doesn't require a ton of explanation here. But I'll humor you. Not only does he have 3 homers in the last week, he's actually crushed right handed pitching this year more than he has left. He'll be squaring off against Rubby De La Rosa - the very definition of "generic bad pitcher" - and chicks who dig the long ball should tune in here and take in the magic.

Hits

Howie Kendrick
Kendrick never turned into a super star, but one thing the man can do is get a hit or two. His high effort, high BABIP approach will be perfect to match up against the stuff-less Darnell. The only risk here is that Darnell gets chased before Kendrick can get his requisite plate appearances!

Buster Posey
Posey is one of the true lefty mashers in the game, and with 13 Ks and 8 BBs in 17 IP this year, this "Kyle Lobstein" fellow isn't doing anything to scare me off taking the Giants catcher anywhere and everywhere.

Strikeouts

Julio Teheran
Teheran is an interesting guy for the top K slot, because chances are pretty slim that he'll actually drum up the 9 you need to win the day. My suggestion? Take a serious boom or bust guy in your top slot, and fit Teheran in that 2nd slot. The Marlins strike out 2nd most in the entire major leagues, and they are even worse against righties than lefties. I have a hard time believing this is anything other than a deep, solid outing for Julio.

Gio Gonzalez
While Gio has been less than an ace this year, Scorestreak doesn't care! We're just looking for Ks, baby. And with more than a K per inning, Gonzalez is as likely as anyone to put up a terrific K outing. While the Phillies have only the 11th most strike outs in the majors, their wOBA is desperately terrible - meaning Gio could see a long and productive outing here. Our projection system likes him only a hair behind Teheran, so we're sticking with him.
