Zurich Classic of New Orleans

TPC Louisiana - Avondale, Louisiana
Par 72, 7,425 Yards

This week the players head to Louisiana for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. The course is rated as one of the easiest on tour and you need to go low to have a chance this week as the winning score is usually around -17 to -20. When looking at course history it is a real crap shoot as even players with good finishes have missed cuts mixed in. I am looking more this week at current form for those players who are peaking at the moment. As most of the scoring here is done through the Par 4's and 5's I will be looking at both together with the usual Strokes Gained stats and GIR. Now that we are well into the 2015 season I will be solely looking at 2015 stats. This week more than ever it seems like a time to really target GPP's as anyone can get hot for 4 days here. Good luck!

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green
  • Strokes Gained: Putting
  • Greens in Regulation
  • Par 4 Scoring
  • Par 5 Scoring

Tier 1 Targets (DK Price $9,000-Max)

Dustin Johnson - $13,000 (Vegas Odds – 9/1)
I don't mind one bit that his price is $13,000. When looking for a player in good form look no further than Johnson. Coming off a T6 at the Masters, T6 at Texas Open, and a Win at the Cadillac, Dustin's game is looking pretty good. If he can get a good tournament from the putter, another win is in store.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 1st
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 139
  • Greens in Regulation - 132
  • Par 4 Scoring - 106
  • Par 5 Scoring - 3

Keegan Bradley - $10,500 (Vegas Odds – 21/1)
When I look a little lower on the list I gravitate to Bradley. His form is good(T22,T5,T49,T38) and has only missed one cut in 2015. He finished T8 here last year and is a guy who can go low with the help of the long drive. I really like the fact he is around the top 60 in both Par 4 and 5 scoring.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 14
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 125
  • Greens in Regulation - 90
  • Par 4 Scoring - 58
  • Par 5 Scoring - 64

Brendan Steele - $9,200 (Vegas Odds – 41/1)
Steele has been extremely consistent this year with no missed cuts to his record. His only finish outside the Top 40 was a T45 at the Farmers. If you are looking for a guy to anchor your cash games he is your man. His stats are pretty impressive as well and he hasn't missed a cut here.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 13
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 102
  • Greens in Regulation - 49
  • Par 4 Scoring - 6
  • Par 5 Scoring - 37

Tier 2 Targets (DK Price $7,000-$8,900)

John Peterson - $8,900 (Vegas Odds – 51/1)
Another consistent golfer so far this year missing only 1 cut and more than not finishing inside the top 40. I like that he is inside the top 50 in both Par 4 and 5 scoring and 24th Tee to Green. He sandwiched a T8 in between 2 missed cuts here his last 3 trips.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 24
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 158
  • Greens in Regulation - 53
  • Par 4 Scoring - 41
  • Par 5 Scoring - 49

Justin Thomas - $8,300 (Vegas Odds – 41/1)
The first thing I noticed with Thomas was that he was cheaper than a few guys with better odds to win.  That's solid value. He is coming in off a T11 last week and has the game to go low ranking 4th in Par 5 scoring and I think he has a great chance at his first PGA Tour win this week.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 47
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 86
  • Greens in Regulation - 76
  • Par 4 Scoring - 92
  • Par 5 Scoring - 4

Martin Laird - $7,500 (Vegas Odds – 76/1)
Laird seems like a bit of wildcard pick but he hasn't missed a cut in 2015. He hasn't finished inside the top 30 in his last 4 tournaments but had 2 Top 10's before that and I am thinking he gets back to that this week. He crushes Par 4's and has a great Tee to Green game and he also ranks high in GIR.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 19
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 94
  • Greens in Regulation - 24
  • Par 4 Scoring - 13
  • Par 5 Scoring - 126

Tier 3 Targets (DK Price $MIN-$6,900)

Robert Streb - $6,200 (Vegas Odds – 76/1
I was all over Streb early in the season when he was very consistent. He went on a cold streak after the nice start but I think he is ready to break out of the slump. He finished T44 last week after 3 consecutive cuts which is a boost to the confidence and his stats are still ranked high this year. I am going to take a few shots with Streb on my rosters this week.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 39
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 73
  • Greens in Regulation - 43
  • Par 4 Scoring - 13
  • Par 5 Scoring - 119

Kyle Reifers - $6,700 (Vegas Odds – 101/1)
When looking for a long shot I chose Reifers. No not because it's 4/20 today. But it works. LOL. Reifers is actually coming off a back to back T11's so his confidence should be high. For the price point I really like the fact he is inside the the Top 50 in both Par 4 and 5. Fire up the Reifers in your GPP's this week folks.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 40
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 85
  • Greens in Regulation - 48
  • Par 4 Scoring - 41
  • Par 5 Scoring - 49
