Quarterback

Kyle Murray
I gave Murray a pretty long look last week, but apparently not long enough as ultimately I avoided the largely unknown quantity. Coming out of high school Murray was tabbed as the #1 dual threat quarterback and he put his skills on display last week tearing up the Gamecock defense to the tune of 223 through the air and another 156 on the ground. It seems clear to me as it should you, Murray can boogie and his lofty status as a runner appears to be every bit the truth. Auburn isn’t exactly a great matchup, but they are far from a stout defense. The Aggies are a touchdown favorite at home with a total around 60. Murray’s price is nowhere near his top end potential and with his ability on the ground his floor seems to be the highest of any quarterback relative to salary. I like Murray in an encore performance against the Tigers.

Baker Mayfield
If you want to spend up Mayfield is the place to do it. His game log doesn’t resemble that of an elite cash game play as his production has varied quite a bit from the mean week to week. I haven’t totally convinced myself a Sooner stack is the way to go, but something deep inside my DFS brain says if you play Mayfield you need to just stack the Sooners to guard against one of Mayfield’s off days. When Baker has fallen short Perine and Mixon have crushed it so the theory seems to make sense to either load up on Sooners or avoid them all in cash games. I actually like Oklahoma to make the dance as one of the playoff teams. I think they keep this thing rolling and drop a huge number on the Cyclones of Iowa State.

Running Back

Royce Freeman
The Ducks opened the season in unusual fashion compared to the way they have become accustom too. After the first month they were just 2-2 having lost to the only legit teams, Michigan State & Utah, they faced. They cruised to wins over Eastern Washington and Georgia State, but still allowed 70pts combined in those wins. They are 3-1 in their last 4 games having only lost a double OT game to a now surging Washington State. The more important thing is their offense returned key starters from injury and have been grooving for a few weeks now. Oregon is enjoying an offensive resurgence thanks to the tough play of Freeman. IN the last 4 games Freeman has combined for 659 yards rushing, 115 yards receiving and 7 total touchdowns. Carrington returning from injury adds to the offensive balance and will help keep the defense honest. Oregon will host Cal as 3pt favorites with a total in the mid 70’s. Freeman is your best big money guy for cash games.

Daniel Lasco
Lasco has sort of become a forgotten man in the DFS community. He was hardly the elite must play back, but Lasco was a solid play most weeks last season. He has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield evidenced by his 33 receptions in 2014, but he has managed on 4 receptions YTD. Lasco has either missed or been less than 100% more than a few times this year, but he self reported last week that he is 100% for the 1st time in a month. I believe him. And I think last week was just the primer he needed to get back to full workload against a suspect Duck defense. Lasco received 15 carries last week which is the most carries he has received since September. I think he will see closer to 20-25 touches this week and against this defense that’s all the opportunity he should need to hit value. I think he will be under owned creating a nice edge in cash games and GPP’s alike.

Wide Receiver

Aaron Burbridge
On the night slate you are going to have to deal with the proposition of not being able to roster a guy like Corey Coleman or Josh Doctson, but life must go on. We must push through with determination and perseverance as those who aspire to great things in life. We have gone to the Burbridge well before and he paid us back in spades. Michigan State is a run first team and we shouldn’t forget that, but they do run a pro-style offense and Burbridge is lone threat on the outside. He dominates the targets among his team and is another case of an NFL talent playing against mostly collegiate level defensive backs. Burbridge has eclipsed 100 yards receiving in 3 straight and has 27 receptions over that same stretch. The receiver slate as a whole is not very strong. Burbridge is one of your better cash plays relative to the field.

Darren Carrington
Bralon Addison

As I mentioned with Freeman, Oregon has seemingly found their offensive stride. It’s hard to say the return of Carrington is the driving factor in their recent consistency, but he’s been pretty good in his two games back. In his only two games Carrington sports a 10/232/3 stat line. Addison on the other side seems to be enjoying Carrington’s return as well by stringing together 3 straight with double digit fantasy points. The game should be high flying with the Duck offense in gear and their defense, well, still crappy. Hopefully Goff & Co. come prepared to match scores. I like the game. I like the Duck offense. Feel free to play both, but if I had to pick one I would ride the hot hand in Carrington.

Tight End

Taylor McNamara
The tight end stink continues Saturday night and thankfully we have another 2k guy coming back from injury. FanDuel has done a good job of eliminating most of the 2k tight ends that actually play. This forces you to waste dollars on guys who soul suck the life right out of you. It’s one thing to spend 2k on a guy that barely sees the ball, but to drop 3k+ on the same guy is criminal. I will now devote my entire existence to persuade FanDuel to eliminate this wasted dumpster fire of a slot.
