Daily Fantasy College Football Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Saturday 12/5 Late Slate

Another packed Saturday in college football land. Some really high scoring games could be coming your way.

We're also selling lineups for every CFB slate. This week they include DraftKings and FanDuel lineups. They are $5 and are separate from our membership subscription. This season of our 69% of our FanDuel lineups have moneyed in cash games, and one won the FanDuel Redshirt tournament. Meanwhile 60% of our DraftKings lineups have hit in cash games. Don't miss out.

Quarterback

DeShaun Watson
Watson is far and away the best quarterback on the board and it’s not particularly close. Watson is the perfect fantasy quarterback. A guy who can run or pass. Contractual obligations require to now reference our CFB eBook for the umpteenth time and how we illustrated quarterbacks with Watson’s skill set deviate from the mean far less than a one dimensional signal caller. Clemson is only a 4.5 favorite with a total on the high 60’s. UNC has the offense to hang with Clemson and as the line reflects could even pull of the upset. This is a situation where you should get the very best of what Watson has to offer. You can bet he will leave it all out on the field Saturday night.

Connor Cook
There isn’t much reason to get away from Watson, but if you insist I would look to Cook. I considered Taylor Lamb and I may still run him, but I think Cook actually offers a tad more safety. If you run Lamb I would consider pairing him with running back Marcus Cox. Iowa is a good team with a solid defense, but if there is a chink in the armor it would be their pass defense. State’s running back by committee isn’t quite getting done and if Michigan State wants to compete in this game Cook will have to have his stuff. He looked real good last week throwing for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns against a top notch Penn State pass defense. I see this game a little higher scoring than the Vegas total of 51. I won’t get away from Watson too much on FanDuel, but Cook will see plenty of my lineups on Draftkings.

Running Back

Jordan Canzeri
On paper this is not a favorable matchup for Canzeri and hoping it scares a few people off. I was very tempted to pull the trigger on Canzeri last week in a tough matchup against Nebraska. My intuition was telling me Canzeri had his warm-up games to shake of the rust from missing a couple games due to injury and he was ready to roll again. Well, he proved he was ready to roll by racking up 140 yards and two scores on just 17 carries. Nebraska has been tough against the run so that was quite an impressive performance. There is a lot at stake in this game and Iowa will surely get their best offensive player the ball early and often. I’m not scared by the matchup one bit. Canzeri is going beast mode, sorry Spartans.

Christian McCaffrey
Caff has seen his price steadily drop due to his unexplained allergy to touchdowns. It’s actually kind of incredible that a guy with over 2000 rushing/receiving yards only has 10 touchdowns on the year. That may sound like a lot, but in the college world that’s a very paltry touchdown total for someone with Caff’s usage rate. Remound Wright serves as the goal line back, which accounts for much of the reason, but it’s still hard to rack up as many yards as McCaffrey has with so few touchdowns. That said, his yardage has been such that he still pays at this price. One thing you can be certain of is the fact McCaffrey will see plenty of work. Stanford uses their star back in the running, passing and return game and volume is good place to start for cash games.

Wide Receiver

Aaron Burbridge
At the top of the food chain sits Burbridge and JuJu. If i can play both I will, but if I am choosing between them Burbridge is the easy choice. Neither team has a great matchup, but Iowa has had trouble at times defending the pass. USC is all over the place with coaches and consistency. JuJu may be the better talent in real life, although that’s debatable, but I prefer the passing game of Connor Cook against Iowa to that of USC against Stanford. In recent weeks USC has also moved to a more run oriented scheme further limiting the opportunity for Smith. The Spartan’s run game has lacked a true identity all year and if they are going to beat Iowa for the Big Ten title it will be on the arm of Cook and the hands of Burbridge.

Deon Cain
Artavis Scott

This next selection comes with great pause and is truly the result of a terrible group of receivers. Outside of JuJu and Burbridge it gets extra murky. There are a few guys that have had good games like Rector or Hollins, but largely the rest of the field consists of low volume receivers that score the occasional touchdown. Cain has scored in 5 straight games and appears to have emerged as Watson’s favorite target. Scott, on the other hand, has not seized the opportunity left behind when Mike WIlliams was lost to injury. Scott is still talented and is coming at minimum prices. Both have one of the best quarterbacks in the nation throwing them the ball.

Tight End

Austin Hooper
Hooper is a clear overpay, but there are so few receivers to spend on I don’t think it’s a terrible idea to cough it up. He will need to score to really pay off as he is not a high volume play. A few weeks ago I would have said Gerald Everett would have been a must play, but he only has two receptions over his last two games combined. Also consider George Kittle.
