Welcome to the daily fantasy hockey picks article for DraftKings, FanDuel, & Draftpot for Sunday, December 27th, 2015. The 3 day Christmas break presents us with a another large 9 game slate. Tonight the following teams are playing on back to back nights:

Let's take a look at some core plays for Sunday night.

Goaltenders

Corey Crawford - Chicago Blackhawks vs. CAR *Probable*
DraftKings - $8,000 FanDuel - $9,700 DraftPot -  5.96 DPPG

He is the top goaltender option on Sunday for many reasons. First of all, the Blackhawks are the biggest favorites on the board at home vs. the Leafs. They are tied for 1st in the league with 14 home wins. Crawford has been brilliant leading up to the Christmas break going 7-2-1 with a .944 save % in his last 10 games. Start your cash games off Crawford and move on.

Thomas Greiss - New York Islanders vs. TOR *Confirmed*
DraftKings - $7,300 FanDuel - $8,700 DraftPot -  5.30 DPPG

With the injury to Jaroslav Halak, Greiss will get the start on Sunday in a home matchup vs. the Leafs. He has been very productive in his starts going 9-4-2 with a .933 save % on the year. If Halak is out for an extended period, Greiss will become the #1 option on Long Island. Look for him to start his tenure with a win on Sunday.

CENTER

Nathan MacKinnon - Colorado Avalanche vs. ARI
DraftKings - $6,600 FanDuel - $7,900 DraftPot -  2.33 DPPG

Should be considered a GPP play only as the offense has been up and down lately but he is star and has 29 points on the season. He is also much better at home where he has one more point(15) than on the road in five less games. The Avs are home favorites Sunday vs. the Coyotes playing on back to back nights.

Stack with - Matt Duchene, Gabriel Landeskog

David Backes - St. Louis Blues @ DAL
DraftKings - $5,100 FanDuel - $7,800 DraftPot -  3.45 DPPG

He is a much better play on DraftKings where he will only cost you 10% of your cap vs. 14% on FanDuel and 12% on Draftpot. In his last 10 games before the break he picked up 8 points with 23 shots and added 11 blocks. The Blues are playing back to back, home at home games vs. the Stars and Backes picked up a point last night.

Stack with - Paul Stastny, Vladimir Tarasenko, Alex Steen, Kevin Shattenkirk

Also Consider - Leon Draisaitl - Edmonton Oilers @ CGY

 

WINGERS

Taylor Hall - Edmonton Oilers @ CGY
DraftKings - $7,400 FanDuel(LW) - $9,600 DraftPot -  5.38 DPPG

He has been a Flame killer this season with six points in only two games. Another battle of Alberta on Sunday should produce another fantasy friendly game. Hall now has 39 points in 35 games this season with an enormous 140 shots on goal. He went in to the break hot(14 points in last 10 games) and should continue the elite play against the Flames.

Stack with - Leon Draisatl, Teddy Purcell

Blake Wheeler - Winnipeg Jets vs. PIT
DraftKings - $7,000 FanDuel(RW) - $7,000 DraftPot -  4.20 DPPG

He went into the break red hot with 11 points in his last 10 games with 28 shots and a +2 rating. He is now up to 35 points on the year and is very affordable across the industry. The Jets are at home on Sunday vs. a Penguins team that has been struggling in the first half of the year. He is safe in all formats.

Stack with - Andrew Ladd, Bryan Little, Dustin Byfuglien

P.A. Parenteau - Toronto Maple Leafs @ NYI
DraftKings - $3,600 FanDuel(RW) - $4,200 DraftPot -  2.73 DPPG

He is a great value on all sites and presents a ton of value as he went into the break on a  hot streak with 7 points in his last 10 games. He has a high floor and his low salary allows room for some high priced players tonight.

Stack with - James Van Riemsdyk, Tyler Bozak

Also Consider - John Gaudreau - Calgary Flames vs. EDM

DEFENSE

Mark Giordano - Calgary Flames vs. EDM
DraftKings - $5,900 FanDuel - $7,200 DraftPot -  4.28 DPPG

He has been trending in the right direction lately with 5 points in his last 3 games with 12 shots on goal. He has also been averaging over 3 blocks a game in the last week which is an added bonus on DraftKings and Draftpot.

Shayne Gostisbehere - Philadelphia Flyers @ ANH
DraftKings - $4,500 FanDuel - $3,900 DraftPot -  3.28 DPPG

My top value pick on the point again tonight. The rookie sensation has been better than advertised for the Flyers so far in his young career. He has posted 14 points in his first 18 games and ranks 60th in the league averaging 15.9 iCorsi/60.
