Welcome to the daily fantasy hockey picks article for DraftKings, FanDuel, & Draftpot for Tuesday, January 7th, 2016. There are seven games in the NHL tonight and only one team(TOR) playing on a back to back. Four of the seven games present us with home favorites and the other three games are sitting at pickem's at the moment. There are a few elite goaltending options tonight with great matchups so with that let's take a look at some core plays for tonight.

Goaltenders

Jonathan Quick - Los Angeles Kings vs. TOR *Probable*
DraftKings - $8,200 FanDuel - $9,100 DraftPot -  5.72DPPG

I absolutely love this spot tonight for Quick. He has won five straight games and has wins in six of his last seven starts. He gets a home matchup tonight vs. the Leafs who are playing on back to back nights on the road. The Kings are heavy favorites(-250) giving Quick the best shot at a win tonight.

Roberto Luongo - Florida Panthers @ OTT *Probable*
DraftKings - $8,300 FanDuel - $9,800 DraftPot -  6.06 DPPG

The hottest goalie on the hottest team in the NHL right now is Roberto Luongo. He has won eight straight games with two shutouts and has only allowed more than two goals once in that time. He has carried the Panthers on his back to the Atlantic division lead and it don't look like they are about to give it up any time soon. The game is set as a pickem for tonight with a low projected total. Be sure to check throughout the day to ensure Luongo is confirmed starting.

Also Consider - Kari Ramo - Calgary Flames vs. ARI

 

CENTER

Tyler Seguin - Dallas Stars vs. WPG
DraftKings - $8,500 FanDuel - $9,000 DraftPot - 3.80 DPPG

The price has dipped again after an embarrassing performance last time out in a blowout loss to the Rangers. Seguin and Benn were benched for their play and will undoubtedly be motivated to turn things around tonight. The Stars are in a nice spot tonight as favorites at home to the Jets who have struggled to an 8-14-1 record away from Winnipeg. Seguin comes into this game with 50 points on the year and should be able to add at least another point to the total tonight. His best value is on DraftPot tonight.

Stack with - Jamie Benn, Patrick Sharp, Jason Spezza

Aleksander Barkov - Florida Panthers @ OTT
DraftKings - $5,700 FanDuel - $6,200 DraftPot -  4.58 DPPG

He is one of the highest Pts/$ plays on the projection system for tonight. He has been at his best lately recording 12 points in his last 10 games and now sits with 25 on the year. He has added seven powerplay points and a short handed point as well this campaign. He plays on a line with Jagr and Huberdeau and the three have created a tremendous chemistry that has them as one of the top lines in the NHL.

Stack with - Jaromir Jagr, Jonathan Huberdeau

Also Consider - Evgeny Kuznetsov - Washington Capitals @ NYI

 

WINGERS

Zach Parise - Minnesota Wild vs. PHI
DraftKings - $7,700 FanDuel(LW) - $9,700 DraftPot -  4.75 DPPG

If he was healthy for the whole season he would be in the Top 10, if not the Top 5, in points in the league. Due to a couple nagging injuries, Parise has only played 30 games this year but still managed to record 25 points with 8 on the powerplay. He is coming off a hat trick in Columbus last time out and now gets a home matchup vs. the Flyers ranked 19th in goals allowed per game and struggle on the road. Be sure to check line combinations following morning skate to see who Parise is skating with if you plan to stack his even strength line.

Stack with - Mikael Granlund, Charlie Coyle, Nino Niederreiter

Tyler Toffoli - Los Angeles Kings vs. TOR
DraftKings - $5,900 FanDuel(RW) - $5,700 DraftPot -  4.85 DPPG

The Kings have the best matchup on the board tonight as big favorites at home to the Maple Leafs playing back to back games on the road. Toffoli has really started to heat up and get back to the form he was in back at the beginning of the season. He has recorded 11 points in his last 10 games with includes three powerplay goals, 30 shots and a +8 rating. He might also see a bump if Jeff Carter rejoins the Kings tonight. The two have shown good chemistry and should be able to do some damage vs. the Leafs. Be sure to check line combinations following morning skate.

Dwight King - Los Angeles Kings vs. TOR
DraftKings - $3,300 FanDuel(LW) - $3,400 DraftPot -  1.94 DPPG

The top Pts/$ player in the projection system today. He made his season debut December 29th and has recorded three points in his first four games back. He plays on the third line of a very deep Kings team that is a extremely balanced with their scoring. A great punt play in any format to allow room to roster some of the top players and goalie.

Stack with -  Dustin Brown, Trevor Lewis

Also Consider - Dylan Larkin - Detroit Red Wings vs. SJ

DEFENSE

Mark Giordano - Calgary Flames vs. ARI
DraftKings - $6,200 FanDuel - $6,500 DraftPot -  4.70 DPPG

The projection system has him for over 4 fantasy points tonight on DraftKings and FanDuel. He has been red hot lately with 11 points in his last 10 games with 27 shots, 26 blocks and he has added two powerplay goals. As with the entire Flames team, he plays better at home and gets a great matchup tonight vs. the Coyotes ranked 29th in goals allowed per game.

Jake Muzzin - Los Angeles Kings vs. TOR
DraftKings - $4,600 FanDuel - $4,900 DraftPot -  2.00 DPPG

A cheap option tonight in a great matchup. Has picked up points in three of his last four games with 12 shots on goal in that time. He blocks shots for an added bonus on DraftKings and DraftPot and gets around 2 min a game on the powerplay.
