Welcome to the daily fantasy hockey picks article for DraftKings & FanDuel for Tuesday, January 12th, 2016.

Let's take a look at some core plays for tonight.

Goaltenders

Marc-Andre Fleury
Opponent - CAR
FD - 9100 DK - 8000

He picked up a huge win in Montreal on Saturday. The Penguins led 2-1 in the third period giving way for Fleury to stop 16 3rd period shots en route to a 3-1 win over the Canadiens. Despite the lack of offense this season, Fleury has been phenomenal with a .928 save % to go along with his 15 wins. The Penguins are starting to play better hockey under their new coach which should help Fleury earn more wins in the second half, starting tonight in Carolina.

Corey Crawford
Opponent - NAS
FD - 10000 DK - 8200

Outside of Chicago, he doesn't really get the credit he deserves. He has been excellent between the pipes lately winning five straight games pushing his record to 23-10-2 with a .926 save percentage. The Hawks have won seven straight games and own the leagues top home record. They are home tonight in a matchup vs. the Predators who have lost three straight games and are 7-10-4 on the road this year. Fire Crawford up in any format.

Also Consider - Louis Domingue - Arizona Coyotes vs. EDM

CENTER

Sidney Crosby
Opponent - CAR
FD - 8300 DK - 7000

After two straight scoreless games, Sid should get back on track tonight in a road game in Carolina. He has 10 points in his last 10 games including 31 shots on net and five powerplay points. The Penguins offense goes where it's two superstars go and if they are to make a playoff push in the second half they are going to need Sid to produce like the elite talent he is. He has 38 points in 31 career games vs. the Hurricanes. He is still a terrific value on DraftKings as the 6th ranked center in salary.

Stack with -  Line Stack - David Perron, Sergei Plotnikov

Powerplay Stack - Patric Hornqvist, Phil Kessel, Evgeni Malkin

Joe Thornton
Opponent - WPG
FD - 4900 DK - 5100

He is currently playing his best hockey of the season and has 14 points in his last 10 games. The price on both sites is still extremely low for the production and is must play in cash games. San Jose is playing their third game in four nights on the road so the legs might be getting tired but they have scored 13 goals in their last two games so I am not too worried. Fire Big Joe up in any format.

Stack with - Joe Pavelski, Patrick Marleau, Brent Burns

Also Consider - Artem Anisimov - Chicago Blackhawks vs. NSH

WINGERS

Patrick Kane
Opponent - NAS
FD - 9100 DK - 9000

He has built a sizable lead(11 points over 2nd place Benn) in the NHL points race and is now up to 62 on the season. He has also recorded 14 poitns in his last 10 games with five multi point games. He has also fired a monstrous amount of shots(46) in those 10 games and added five powerplay points. The Hawks are the best home team in the league and welcome Nashville tonight who have struggled on the road. Look for another strong game from Kane. The price is fair on both sites making him a great play in any format.

Stack with - Artem Anisimov, Artemi Panarin

Patric Hornqvist
Opponent - CAR
FD - 5600 DK - 6000

He makes on e the best cash game plays in the mid range at these prices. He has picked up seven points in his last 10 games but the high floor comes in the form of shots(45 in last 10 games). With the Penguins offense really starting to pick up the pace he also provides upside in the form of powerplay production and has four PP points in his last 10 games.

Stack with - Phil Kessel, Evgeni Malkin

Nino Niederreiter
Opponent - BUF
FD - 4100 DK - 3700

A great punt option on both sites that won't break the bank and will allow you to roster a top goalie and star forward tonight. He has put up six points in his last 10 games with 25 shots and has added eight penalty minutes as well.He has been skating on a line with Pominville and Granlund and they make a great low priced stacking option tonight at home vs. the Sabres.

Stack with -  Jason Pominville, Mikael Granlund

Also Consider - Mikkel Boedker - Arizona Coyotes vs. EDM

DEFENSE

Kris Letang
Opponent - CAR
FD - 6100 DK - 5900

The four game point streak came to an end last game vs. MTL but Letang still picked up a shot and five blocks to give him 3 DK points on Saturday. He is the perfect fit for a top tier defense option as he has a high floor with shots and blocks and provides a huge amount of multi point upside as the Penguins are starting to heat up.

Ryan Suter
Opponent - BUF
FD - 4300 DK - 6000

He is second in ice time in the league and eats a ton of minutes for the Wild. He has picked up 28 points on the season with 10 coming on the powerplay and has added 100 shots on goal. He is a much better value on FanDuel where his price makes him a must play in any format.

Also Consider - Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Arizona Coyotes vs. EDM
