Welcome to the daily fantasy hockey picks article for DraftKings & FanDuel for Thursday, January 21st, 2016. We have a large 10 game slate tonight and only 1 one team(Minnesota Wild)

Let's dig in and find some core and value plays for tonight's action.

Goaltenders

Jonathan Quick
Opponent - MIN
FD - 8900 DK - 8500

It is unusual to get a goalie of his caliber under $9K on FanDuel making him a tremendous value tonight. He was won 9 of his last 11 starts and only allowed more than two goals in a game on two occasions. He pushed his record to 26-10-2 with a .923 save % for the Kings as they are starting to peak on their second half run to the playoffs and beyond. It is also of note that the Wild have lost four straight games, own a 8-13 road record and are playing on back to back nights. Just saying.

Ben Bishop
Opponent - CHI
FD - 8800 DK - 7700

We are gifted with a fantastic game on Thursday in a rematch of the 2015 Stanley Cup Finals which saw the Hawks win their third cup in the last six years. Bishop will look for revenge at home on Thursday as the Lightning are favorites(-125) and winners of six straight games. The Blackhawks have a streak of their own that only 14 teams in history have accomplished(12 straight) and will be looking to track down the 17 game streak of the 1992/93 Penguins. Bishop is GPP only tonight because of the Hawks great run recently, but I have a good feeling the Lightning come out very motivated and take this one.

Also Consider - Martin Jones - San Jose Sharks @ ARI

CENTER

Sidney Crosby
Opponent - PHI
FD - 8500 DK - 7200

Somehow Sid was left off the All Star team this year. I am still shocked. I am a die hard Flyers fan so that makes it even more shocking as I normally(okay I always) dislike Crosby for anything other than fantasy. His price on DraftKings makes him an almost must play Thursday night in an elite matchup vs. the Flyers coming off a tough loss to the Leafs. Crosby has 13 points(four on PP) in his last 10 games with 31 shots on goal. He has used the Flyers as a punching bag over the years with 76 points in 52 career games. I won't be happy about it but will have plenty of Crosby shares on Thursday.

Stack with -  Evgeni Malkin, Patric Hornqvist, Phil Kessel, Kris Letang

Ryan Johansen
Opponent - CGY
FD - 7200 DK - 6000

He has delivered a boost in fantasy production since being traded to the Predators. In six games with his new team he has picked up six points(four on the PP) with 20 shots on goal and even added six penalty minutes. He has been skating with James Neal and rookie Kevin Fiala on the Preds top line who make a very cheap line stack Thursday night.

Stack with - James Neal, Kevin Fiala, Mike Ribeiro

Also Consider - Joe Thornton - San Jose Sharks @ ARI

WINGERS

Patrick Kane
Opponent - TB
FD - 9200 DK - 9100

The hottest player on the planet is a tough fade right now. He has provided an extremely high floor averaging over four shots on goal over the last 10 games. In those games he has added 15 points including three straight multi point games. The Hawks are riding a 12 game winning streak, that has to come to an end at some point but until it does Kane will be an elite play.

Stack with - Artemi Panarin, Artem Anisimov

Jakub Voracek
Opponent - PIT
FD - 7200 DK - 5900

He is a much better play on DraftKings where the price is very affordable. After an extremely slow start to the year he has 8 points in his last 10 games and now sits with 31 points on the year. If the Flyers are going to continue to trend towards making the playoffs they are going to need Voracek to start scoring more goals. The shot volume is there. He just needs to start seeing a couple more hit the twine. The Flyers have owned the Penguins having won the last eight meetings between the two teams dating back to 2013.

Stack with - Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds, Shayne Gostisbehere

Also Consider - Mikkel Boedker - Arizona Coyotes vs. SJ

DEFENSE

Ryan Suter
Opponent - LA
FD - 4400 DK - 6200

He is a player with one of the biggest price differentials between DraftKings and FanDuel. He is a must play in any format on Fanduel and is also a GPP option DraftKings. While he is more know for his defensive ability he has added six points in his last 10 games with 33 shots on goal and 18 blocked shots(DK bonus).

Jake Muzzin
Opponent - MIN
FD - 4900 DK - 4800

He is red hot lately with points in eight straight and nine of his last 10 games for the LA Kings. He has a nice floor with 27 shots in his last 10 games with 16 blocks(DK bonus) and comes in under $5K leaving room for some upside as well tonight.

Also Consider - Erik Gustafsson - Chicago Blackhawks @ TB
