Goaltenders

Marc-Andre Fleury
Opponent - CGY
FD - 9800 DK - 8200

Top goaltending option on the day. He has been excellent lately winning three straight games and allowing only two total goals against. The Penguins get a great matchup Saturday afternoon as the Flames come to town with the worst road record(9-20-3) in the league. The Penguins are big favorites with the total trending towards the under. Get Fleury in your lineups.

Also Consider - Robin Lehner - Buffalo Sabres vs. MIN

James Reimer
Opponent - VAN
FD - 6600 DK - 6700

He is making his debut with the Sharks tonight at home vs. the Canucks. His record(11-12-7) with the Leafs doesn't reflect how well he has played this year as he has recorded an impressive .918 save % on the leagues 24th ranked defense. Not only does he get a better defensive team in front of him the Sharks also rank 4th in total offense. Look for him to start the next chapter in his career with a win Saturday night. Terrific value on both sites under $7K.

Also Consider - Ben Bishop - Tampa Bay Lightning vs. CAR

CENTER

Evgeni Malkin
Opponent - CGY
FD - 9300 DK - 7400

The Penguins are big favorites on Saturday afternoon in a game that could see some goal scoring. The Flames are the worst road team in the league and rank 29th in overall goals allowed per game. Great spot for Malkin who is four games back from injury and hasn't skipped a beat. He has scored in back to back games and has five points in his four games back. Both he and Crosby present big upside but I will take the slightly cheaper option Malkin and spend up elsewhere.

Stack with - Phil Kessel, Chris Kunitz, Sidney Crosby(PP)

Also Consider - Jack Eichel - Buffalo Sabres vs. MIN

Joe Thornton
Opponent - VAN
FD - 6700 DK - 5700

Big Joe just keeps producing and remains one of the best setup men in the NHL as he is tied for third with 46 assists on the season. In the past five years he has lead the NHL with 252 assists. He has developed great chemistry with Joe Pavelski and Tomas Hertl making them one of the best two way lines in the league. Thornton has tallied 14 points in his last 10 games and makes a terrific play in any format Saturday night.

Stack with - Tomas Hertl, Joe Pavelski

Also Consider - Jack Eichel - Buffalo Sabres vs. MIN

WINGERS

Patric Hornqvist
Opponent - CGY
FD - 7400 DK - 6700

If you are going to roster Malkin in the early slate you would be a fool to not pair him with Hornqvist. He has been red hot lately with five goals(two on the PP) in his last three games. Over his last 10 games he has averaged over four fantasy points per game on both sites and is a safe play in any format.

Stack with - Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby(PP)

Lee Stempniak
Opponent - WAS
FD - 4100 DK - 4400

As long as he remains on the top line with Marchand and Bergeron he will be a tremendous value play.  He was held pointless in his first game as a Bruin but rebounded on Thursday picking up two assists. He has received right around 16 min of ice time in his first two games and there could be a shot for that to go up moving forward. Great punt play for any format.

Stack with - Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand

DEFENSE

Kris Letang
Opponent - CGY
FD - 7700 DK - 7000

A terrific option in the early slate in a great matchup at home to the Flames. Letang has tallied nine points in his last 10 games with 26 shots, 17 blocks, 14 PIMs, and a +6 rating for the Penguins. He provides a very safe floor for cash games and multi point upside needed for winning tournaments.

Also Consider - Cam Fowler - Anaheim Ducks vs. LA

Seth Jones
Opponent - PHI
FD - 4200 DK - 5100

He makes a good cash game play tonight on the road in Philly. His offensive game has really started to show since being traded to Columbus. In his last 10 games he has tallied six points(three on the PP) with 21 shots, and 20 blocks(DK bonus).

Also Consider - Michael Stone - Arizona Coyotes vs. FLA

  • Justin I like San Jose' line 1 because they are the late game and may be under owned. Also Ottawa line 1 and jets line 1 vs Habs. Bosons line 2 maybe be sneaky vs caps backup tender. The problem with the Bergeron line is that they will be sent out to shadow ovechkin's 1st line.

  • I'm gonna play a couple late gpps and stack floridas line 1 or 2 and sharks line 1 or 2 depending on who I feel has the lower ownership and I'll pick defencemen based on salary left. Prob stone from Arizona since we need a guy from 3 teams. Prob Montoya will be my goalie as Reimer will be heavily owned IMO. Here's my gpp lineup for the main 7 et slate.
Zach smith jokinen stone wheels Scheifele pageau buff phaneuf and Pavelec. My reasoning for pavvy is that he will be very low owned and he's not very good but he has the potential for a shutout at any time. Very hot cold goalie.

  • Thank you Ryan! I will definitely use that one. I was leaning on Bos1 and Wash2 but glad I didn't make that mistake

  • To complete my lineup I used Chris Durell advice and had an extra 500 was able to bump up for Palat. I thank you. Although I had that extra because I went down to Seth jones.....Lol. Good banter on the nba side of this site. Hoping for more comments and banter on the nhl side. (for the record hockey is my favorite sport but is my worst for dfs) Go Hawks!
