Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel - 3/20/16

We're back at it again for another exciting day of March Madness. I'm not sure about everyone else, but my bracket isn't looking too hot, so I'm turning my entire focus to DFS from here on out. I'm glad that we've made it to the next round where the matchup's are more competitive, and the games are a bit more predictable (hopefully, but they don't call it March Madness for nothing). There's a few games on this slate with some pretty high O/U's which we love to see, so let's get the picks rolling.

    Upper Tier

    DeAndre Bembry
    FD - 9600 DK - 9500
My favorite pick on tonight's slate is St. Joseph's do-it-all forward DeAndre Bembry. Bembry has been on an insane run this season, averaging 17 ppg, 8 rpg and 4.5 apg on the season. He's also first on his team in usage %, so he's the go-to-guy who the Hawks run their entire offense through. He's gone for over 30 FD points in 8 of his last 10 games, including multiple 40 point performances, so he can be relied upon to put up solid numbers night in and night out. The matchup with Oregon is good from the standpoint that this game has the highest O/U on the slate by far, so it should be very high scoring. He's got a tougher individual matchup against Chris Bouchard, but I still expect Bembry to have one of the highest DFS scores of the night.

    Zach Auguste
    FD - 8800 DK - 8700
One of only two guys to average a double-double in the ACC this season, Zach Auguste from Notre Dame has been very consistent this season for the Fighting Irish. He's been especially aggressive on the glass over his last 5 games, out-rebounding his season average by 3 rpg over that stretch. That's why I really love this matchup vs the Lumberjacks from Stephen F Austin, who really lack any kind of strong inside presence. The O/U is pretty high, and the spread is low so I'm expecting a fast-paced, competitive game here. This has massive double-double potential written all over it, and I'll have Auguste in all of my lineups to take advantage of that today.

    Elgin Cook
    FD - 8500 DK - 7700
Another big guy from the Oregon vs St. Joseph's game that I like is Elgin Cook out of Oregon. The senior forward has really come on strong down the stretch, averaging 17 ppg and 7 rpg over his last 10 games (both of which are much higher than his season averages). He's also been more aggressive over his last 10 games, getting to the free throw line nearly 7 times per game. This matchup for the Ducks is going to come down to who can control the paint, and Cook figures to be a big part of what they plan to do on the interior today. I already mentioned the massive O/U in this one, so I love the upside that Cook has in this matchup.

I also really like Buddy Hield on FanDuel, but his price is a little too high for me on DraftKings.

    Middle Tier

    Stefan Jankovic
    FD - 7700 DK - 7200
I'd be lying to you if I told you I'd seen a Hawaii game before yesterday, but what I did see out of Stefan Jankovic really impressed me. Even though he was limited by foul trouble,Jankovic still managed to score 16 points in just 18 minutes of action against the Golden Bears of Cal. He met the eye test yesterday and his stats also don't lie, as he's produced at a high level all season, which is evidenced by his 27 PER and 60% true shooting percentage. I don't love the matchup with Maryland because they have a tough interior presence, but Jankovic gets enough run and usage to make up for that. It's not often that you can find a conference player of the year for under 8k across both sites, so I strongly recommend playing Jankovic in a game that I predict will be higher scoring than many people think.

    Tyler Roberson
    FD - 6300 DK - 6600
A guy who got more minutes than usual and really did something with them the other day is Tyler Roberson from Syracuse. He got 38 minutes vs the Flyers and did not disappoint, grabbing 18 rebounds on his way to a big-time double-double. Now I'm not expecting him to grab 18 rebounds again, but I could definitely see another double-double in this matchup with Middle Tennessee. The Blue Raiders do not have much of an inside presence, so Roberson should be free to rebound at a high rate again, and should be able to stay out of foul trouble do to the lack of an inside scoring presence. When he gets 30+ minutes he's nearly a lock to hit x3 value or higher, so I feel good plugging him into my lineups as a safer mid-priced guy.

    Tyler Dorsey
    FD - 5900 DK - 6600
Because the O/U is so high in this one, I'd recommend getting as much exposure to this Oregon vs St Josephs game as you can, and I really like Tyler Dorsey out of Oregon today. He didn't have a big game last time out, but he only played 23 minutes in a game that was basically over at halftime. That being said, in the 5 games prior to their first round game, Dorsey has averaged over 19 ppg and had reached greater than x3 value in all 5 games. St Josephs struggle to defend the perimeter at times, and I really think Dorsey will have a big night scoring the basketball for the Ducks in this one.

    Jordan Woodard
    FD - 5700 DK - 6700
Another guard who you can plug into your lineup who won't break the bank is Jordan Woodard out of Oklahoma. He's not the Sooner's go-to-guy by any stretch of the imagination, but the junior guard is averaging about 30 minutes per game this season. He's been on a nice scoring streak lately as well, going over 10 points in 3 of his last 4 games. He's also one of the best 3-point shooters in the country, shooting 44% from distance on the season. This is another game that has a pretty high O/U, so Woodard should see plenty of meaningful minutes in this one, and I really like him to hit value.

    Lower Tier

    Quincy Smith
    FD - 4800 DK - 5100
I don't particularly love any of the lower priced guys today, but I do think that Quincy Smith has some real upside today against the Maryland Terrapins. Smith gets a lot of minutes for the Rainbow Warriors (what a name), and has been pretty effectively as of late, reaching greater than x3 value in his last 4 games. I expect the minutes to be there in this one, and I think he'll have plenty of opportunities to score as Maryland keys in on Hawaii's other scoring threats. Not a super safe pick, but I'll have him in my lineups so I can spend up on some of the bigger guys.

    Paul Jesperson
    FD - 4500 DK - 4700
A guy who's priced at the minimum who gets high 20's, low 30's minutes per game at least deserves a mention, and that's the case for Paul Jesperson. I wrote about him the other day, and he did pretty well by reaching over x3 value. Texas A&M is a tougher defensive matchup than Texas was, but if you're looking for super cheap guys so you can spend up else where, and you don't mind carrying a good amount of risk, definitely give Jesperson a look. He's more of a tournament play for me, but he does give you a lot of flexibility should you decide to play him.
