Goaltenders

John Gibson
Opponent - WPG
FD - 8100 DK - 7600

No confirmation yet but it looks like it will be Gibson's turn between the pipes on Sunday in a very favorable matchup vs. the Jets who have lost two straight and seven of their last 10 games. Gibson is coming off three straight losses to some good competition and is in a prime spot to bounce back today. He faced the Jets earlier in the  year stopping 19 of 20 shots in a 4-1 Ducks victory. Every game down the stretch is magnified for the Ducks who have an outside shot at catching the Kings in the Pacific Division. Even if they don't catch LA, they will still want to keep home ice advantage over the Sharks who trail them by only one point.

James Reimer
Opponent - ARI
FD - 7100 DK - 6900

He will get the nod for the Sharks on Sunday night, making his fourth start since being acquired at the trade deadline. He has played well for the Sharks since losing his start shutting out the Oilers and following it up by beating the Bruins last Tuesday. He gets a great matchup on Sunday as the Sharks are huge favorites at home to the visiting Coyotes who have lost six of their last 10 games and own one of the worst road records in the league.

Also Consider - Corey Crawford - Chicago Blackhawks vs. MIN

CENTER

Joe Thornton
Opponent - ARI
FD - 6600 DK - 5800

The always consistent Big Joe has not had back to back games without a point since mid December. That is just amazing and exactly what we are looking for in a cash game play. He has tallied 12 points in his last 10 games for the surging Sharks and now sits with 69 points on the season and is tied for third with 52 assists. Great matchup vs. the Coyotes who rank 28th in defense.

Stack with - Joe Pavelski, Tomas Hertl

Alex Galchenyuk
Opponent - CGY
FD - 6200 DK - 5200

The young Canadiens up and coming star center has been nothing short of brilliant lately with 11 points in his last 10 games including four multi goal games. He is coming off a horrible road game in Ottawa where he went -4 in a 5-0 rout on Saturday. Look for the Habs to be more motivated on Sunday at home when they face the Flames who own the worst road record in the league and rank dead last in defense.

Stack with - Max Pacioretty, Sven Andrighetto

Also Consider - Connor McDavid - Edmonton Oilers vs. COL

WINGERS

Patrick Kane
Opponent - MIN
FD - 8400 DK - 8600

Both superstar high priced forwards are on the ice Sunday and while comparable in price on DraftKings, Kane is quite a bit cheaper on FanDuel. Ovechkin has also been dealing with a nagging injury and with the Caps near clinching the East they aren't going to push him if they don't have to. Kane leads the NHL in points(92) and has started to heat up again as he tries to become the first 100 point player since Sidney Crosby. He is coming off a multi point game vs. the Jets and gets a great matchup at home on Sunday vs. the Wild playing on back to back nights on the road and a third game in four nights.

Stack with - Artem Anisimov, Artemi Panarin, Jonathan Toews(PP)

Kyle Palmieri
Opponent - CBJ
FD - 5000 DK - 5200

He paid off last night as the top value play and I am going back to the well on Sunday. The Devils got blasted by the Blue Jackets but that didn't stop Palmieri from contributing for fantasy owners with two goals and assist. The Devils and Palmieri will get another shot at the Blue Jackets on Sunday in the second of the home at home matchup. I am expecting a tighter game played by the Devils but at a mid $5K price tag on both sites, Palmieri should be able to pay off once again for us.

Stack with - Reid Boucher, Travis Zajac

Also Consider - TJ Oshie - Washington Capitals @ PIT

DEFENSE

Brent Burns
Opponent - ARI
FD - 8000 DK - 8400

While I don't like spending 15%+ on one D man in cash games, I love playing the high priced, high upside guys in GPP formats. Burns is, by far, the highest upside play at the position on Sunday. He is coming off back to back pointless games but still managed over 5 fantasy points last game vs. the Rangers with 9 shots on goal, 2 blocks and a +2 rating. He gets an elite matchup on Sunday vs. the Coyotes who rank 28th in goals allowed per game. Fire up the beard on Sunday night.

Cam Fowler
Opponent - WPG
FD - 3900 DK - 4400

When filling in my cash game D men I always start with a low end value. I look for a player who will get shot volume, can block shots, gets PP time and can add offensive value. Fowler checks all these boxes for me today. While he has only tallied four points in his last 10 games they have all come on the PP. He has also added 13 shots and 22 blocks for a fairly safe floor for a player in the sub $4K range. He is in a favorable spot on Sunday as the Ducks travel to Winnipeg to take on the Jets who have little to play for the rest of the season.

Also Consider - Tyson Barrie - Colorado Avalanche @ EDM

  • Absolutely crushed it last night thanks to you guys - 53+ pts and a couple of cashes with STL1, NJ2, and Bishop. I only wish I played more lineups! Thinking of going back to NJ2 again with potentially SJ1, ANH1, or CHI1. I'm worried about the 3rd game in 4 days for SJ. Any thoughts?

  • Congrats and thank you. Another great night for me as well.

I am thinking the exact same today. Not too worried about SJ as ARI is also on a 3rd in 4 days and is awful on the road.

  • I wish I could share your optimism. I only won one as I relied heavily on Galchenyuk. I am looking to rebound and I know Montreal will be motivated.

I think I'm going MON1 and SJ2 with Burns a cheap D man and Crawford between the pipes

  • Ok I'm doing three lineups today and any critiques are welcome Chris, Robinson and whoever else.

    L1- MON1 + SJ1 with Burns/Gustafsson and Dubnyk.

    L2- CHI1 + NJ2 with Burns/Byfuglien and Gibson.

    L3- JETS1 + WSH2 with Burns/Fowler and Reimer.

Leaning heavy on Burns because he always helps me in GPP.

  • Update on L3- I'm rolling with ANH1 and WSH2 with Byfuglien/Fowler and Reimer. Should I stick with Jets1. I was going to because they are the home team, but they have nothing to play for.

  • On a gambling whim on the FanDuel Daily FreeRoll I'm going ANH1 + JETS1 with Byfuglien/Fowler and Dubnyk. Just for kicks and giggles

  • I am off the Jets today but could see a case for GPP contrarian lineup. should be low owned.
