Welcome back for another day of daily fantasy hockey, playoff edition. It's Sunday and we have a pair of game two's with the both home teams with a 1-0 series lead. I am sticking with my horses today and riding the home teams as the playoff grind gets more intense.

Goaltenders

Kari Lehtonen
Opponent - STL
FD - 8700 DK - 7800

It was the goalies putting on a show in game as there were 75 combined shots between the teams. Lehtonen's performance was somewhat overshadowed by the 40 save gem by Brian Elliott but he was great, especially in the final minutes of the game. I don't think there will be as many shots this game and for fantasy I will take the home team as the momentum is in their favor. Lehtonen is also a very affordable as the cheapest of the four goalies on Sunday.

Martin Jones
Opponent - NAS
FD - 9100 DK - 7900

Game one was very close with Nashville holding the lead until the third period when the Sharks exploded for five goals to take game one at home. Winning at home was something they struggled with in the regular season but have sharpened up and won two straight on home ice. Jones stopped 29 of 31 shots he faced and is now 5-1 in the playoffs with a .918 save percetage. If the Sharks can come out strong like they finished game one they should be able to control the Predators and take a commanding two game lead in the series before heading on the road.

 

 

 

CENTER

Logan Couture
Opponent - NAS
FD - 6900 DK - 6100

The Sharks have been getting outstanding secondary scoring from the second line. Couture picked up two goals in game one and now has six points(2 on the PP) in his last three games with seven shots and three blocks. The second line stack isn't going to cost you top dollar and will allow you enough salary to pay up for their all star teammate Brent Burns on the point.

Stack with - Joel Ward, Joonas Donskoi

 

Jori Lehtera
Opponent - DAL
FD - 4000 DK - 4000

The Blues top line was shut down in game one so I hesitate to pay up for Tarasenko in game two. On a small slate you need to find one or two value plays with some upside if you want to fit a top goalie and skater in your lineup. Lehtera presents cheap exposure to the top line and won't hurt you if they are shut down again at half the cost of Tarasenko.

WINGERS

Jamie Benn
Opponent - STL
FD - 8900 DK - 8300

He was finally held off the score sheet in these playoffs as he played very physical in game one setting the tone for the series. He and David Backes showed that they particularly don't enjoy each others presence on the ice. Look for the Stars offensive leader to loosen up a bit in game two and get a bit more involved in the offense as this series rolls on.

Stack with - Cody Eakin, Patrick Sharp

 

Tomas Hertl
Opponent - NAS
FD - 5500 DK - 5200

Another player that provides affordable value playing on a top line with two $6K+ players. Hertl scored in the Sharks game one victory and added five shots on goal in 17+ minutes on the ice. The Sharks fired 38 shots on Pekka Rinne in game one and we can expect more of the same on Sunday as they try to take a 2-0 series lead before heading to Nashville. Look for the top line to get more involved moving forward.

Stack with - Joe Thornton, Joe Pavelski

 

DEFENSE

Brent Burns
Opponent - NAS
FD - 8200 DK - 8600

He is my top play overall today as he continues to put up monster fantasy points from the defense position. He picked up two assists in game one which was his third straight multi point game and fourth of these playoffs. He provides a high floor as he is averaging over four shots on goal per game and has tremendous upside.

 

Ryan Ellis
Opponent - SJ
FD - 4100 DK - 4500

It is extremely tough to find low end value at defense in these playoffs as most guys are expected to play more of a shut down role. Ellis makes a nice pairing with Brent Burns today and doesn't need to light up the score sheet to hit value. In his last three games he has picked up seven shots and also added seven blocks(DraftKings Bonus) for the Preds.

 

Also Consider - Colton Parayko - St. Louis Blues @ DAL
