Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Pitching Targets

Note- Jon Lester and Drew Smyly were talked about on our daily picks article.

Adam ConleyAdam Conley FD 8400 DK 7400
Opponent - MIL (Gonzalez) Park - @MIA
FD - 33.31 DK - 17.4

Adam Conley will get the nod against the Brewers tonight, and I see the 25-year-old delivering another quality start for the Marlins. He has been stellar to open the 2016 campaign, as he owns a 3.01 ERA, 26.2 K% and 16.2 K-BB%. He has shown us the ability to fan hitters (which is great for tournaments), and has shown us that he is able to keep the walks down (which helps his pitch count and limits damage).

He will be going up against the Brewers, who are in the middle of the pack against left-handed pitching. They own a .91 wRC+ (22nd in MLB), .726 OPS (16th in MLB) and .319 wOBA (14th in MLB). This isn't a matchup that jumps out to you on paper, but there is one thing I do love about his matchup against the Brewers, and that is there -- K%. They own a 24.5 K% on the year, which ranks fourth highest in the MLB. Sure, Conley doesn't have the best of matchups, but you have to love his price tag and upside. He is in play for me in all formats.

Jacob deGromJacob deGrom FD 10500 DK 10700
Opponent - LAD (Wood) Park - @LAD
FD - 36.6 DK - 19.95

Jacob deGrom upset a lot of us in his last start against the Padres, but I am going to suck-it-up and roll with him again tonight. He has been one of the most dominant starters in the league since 2015, so one bad start won't shy me away from him. Since 2015, deGrom owns a 26.2 K% and a 2.72 FIP. He has tremendous upside, and his FIP suggest that he is as good as people say he is!

He will be going up against the Dodgers tonight, which will scare people away, but they have not been all that in 2016 (at least offensively). They own a .301 wOBA (21st in MLB), 79 wRC+ (26th in MLB) and .129 ISO (26th in MLB). They struggle to hit for power or create scoring opportunities, so don't let the Dodgers fool you! deGrom's ownership will be very low after his last start, so he is in play for me in all formats.

Kevin GausmanKevin Gausman FD 7700 DK 8200
Opponent - MIN (Hughes) Park - @MIN
FD - 30.87 DK - 16.29

WOW, Kevin Gausman has looked amazing to start the 2016 campaign. Not only does he own a 1.42 ERA, but he has a 2.91 FIP to back it up. His 20.0 K% might not wow you, but his 0.68 WHIP sure will! He is allowing less than one runner on base per inning, which explains why his ERA is so low.

Tonight Gausman will be going up against the Twins, who have struggled in the early going of the season. They own a 23.4 K% (7th in MLB), .134 ISO (24th in MLB) and .297 wOBA (25th in MLB). The Twins strikeout a ton, don't hit for power and have struggled getting on base, which is the perfect formula for a pitcher (in this case Kevin Gausman). He does not fan a ton of hitters, but the Twins sure know how to strikeout, so don't worry so much about his K%. Gausman has been excellent in the early going of the season, so he is in play for me in all formats tonight as well.
