A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!

Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Washington Nationals vs. Archie Bradley (ARI)

The Nationals continue their West Coast road trip and are now spending the next few days at Arizona. This means that they get a huge ballpark boost and will be facing a bullpen that owns a 4.90 ERA on the year (29th in MLB).

I would go ahead and stack the Nationals just on those two factors, but they will be also going up against Archie Bradley, who has struggled to find his groove in the majors.

On the year, Bradley owns a 1.41 WHIP to go along with a 4.52 FIP. His problem this season has been the walks, as he has walked over 11% of the batters has faced, which yells out [trouble] to me. The Nationals are in the middle of the pack when it comes to hitting righties, so go ahead and plug them into your lineups! They have a beautiful matchup and other factors in their favor as well!

My top 4 guys to stack: Trea Turner, Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy and Wilson Ramos

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Jarred Cosart (SD)

Cosart will be making his first start with San Diego and I don't see it going to well for him. Since 2014, he owns a 4.34 xFIP and walks over 10% of his batters. The worst part about Cosart, is the fact that he walks all these batters and only fans 15% of the hitters he faces. I see this favoring the Brewers tonight.

While this Brewers' squad is known for striking out, they have been one of the hottest teams in baseball. In their last 14 games, they own a .339 wOBA (4th in MLB) and 111 wRC+ (5th in MLB). Don't sleep on the red-hot Brewers tonight!

My top 4 guys to stack: Ryan Braun, Scooter Gennett, Jonathan Villar and Kirk Nieuwenhuis

Cleveland Indians vs.Jose Berrios (CLE)

Jose Berrios has a bright future, but I will be stacking against him tonight. He will be going one of baseball's best squads, in the Cleveland Indians, so it's hard not to stack against him.

The Indians were one of the hottest teams in July. They owned a .336 wOBA (6th in MLB), .183 ISO (8th in MLB) and 110 wRC+ (6th in MLB). This squad sure knows how to put up runs in bunches, so I'll go ahead and stack 'em tonight. Never sleep on the Indians!

My top 4 guys to stack: Mike Napoli, Francisco Lindor, Jason Kipnis and Jose Ramirez

Boston Red Sox vs. James Paxton (SEA)

I'm a James Paxton fan, but not tonight. He will be going up against this scary Red Sox lineup, and this game has the highest total of the night (9 runs).

Paxton owns a 4.60 ERA in his last six starts. Opponents also own a .284 AVG during that span, so don't be surprised if they do some damage. The Red Sox own the highest wOBA in the majors against left-handed pitchers on the year, so look for them to put some runs on the board against, Paxton.

My top 4 guys to stack: Hanley Ramirez, Xander Bogaerts, Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia.

  1. Seattle set to get handled tonight. Flying back form a Chicago game that ended at midnight. I think Rodriguez and several Boston bats is a great stack tonite
