While Archer will be the chalk in the early slate, Strasburg makes a very intriguing tournament option today. He gets a discount due to the matchup in Coors which can be scary but look a little deeper and and you will notice Strasburg has been elite on the road this year with a .170 ERA while limiting opponents to a .191 batting average. He comes with a high 11.03 K/9 rate which gives him a fairly high floor and if he can avoid the big hits today could be a sneaky play that has potential to be a top play on the early slate and get you to the top of your leagues.

The Vegas lines were released late for this game which left Carrasco off the main article today. When those lines came out he quickly jumped to the top spot from a PTS/$ perspective. He is the 4th most expensive option tonight on both sites and the Indians are coming in as huge -225 favorites with the White Sox projected to score under 3.5 runs. While Carrasco has seen a drop off in K rate this year the fastball velocity remains around 95 mph, the issue is that he just isn't missing as many bats. The swinging strike rate is still above average(11%) just not at the elite level(14%) we seen last year. The K rate is still above average(8.56 K/9) and should get a bump tonight vs. the White Sox who rank 20th in wOBA(.306) with a 20.7% strikeout rate vs. right handed pitching. Carrasco is a safe option in any format tonight.
