Point Guard

Jeff TeagueJeff Teague FD - $7600 DK - $7500
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 37.89 DK - 40.69
Last night Teague drew the fantasy dream match up of the Brooklyn Nets. Tonight, the Pacers welcome in Detroit and while they may not be the Nets, the Pistons are still a bottom ten defense for opposing point guards. Everything Doug said yesterday about Teague applies here, the minutes are about as secure as you can find, the assists are up, the rebounds have been coming at a steady clip and he's averaging about 16 points per game. Currently, he's coming in at a nice bargain and as long as the price stays in the mid 7k range, he should definitely be in the conversation as a solid cash game play.

George HillGeorge Hill FD - $5800 DK - $5600
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 31.9 DK - 33.67
George Hill has really been struggling lately, but there have been some signs of life. Last Saturday against the Grizzlies he shot over 50% from the floor putting up 16 points, and threw in 3 rebounds and 5 assists for good measure. He took a step back against Milwaukee on Wednesday but the Bucks are one of the best defenses in the league against opposing point guards. Tonight he draws Charlotte who are in the bottom half of the league defending against the one, and Kemba Walker is questionable with an illness. Even if Walker plays, he may not be feeling 100% and Hill could exploit that. While I feel a little uneasy about Hill until I see him consistently return to form, the price dropping to its lowest point since early November has me willing to roll the dice on this.

Mike ConleyMike Conley FD - $7800 DK - $7100
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 37.91 DK - 40.16
More of a Draftkings play, though I wouldn't completely rule him out on Fanduel, Mike Conley has been having a very nice year so far. He's averaging 33 minutes per game and averaging nearly 2 points per minute. Vegas has this game set at nearly a pick'em so the minutes should be secure, but my biggest concern would be these two teams being among the 10 slowest paced in the league. That could almost definitely limit Conleys upside. His 41% three point percentage and the cheaper price could sway me to use him in tournament lineups on draftkings, and definitely as a cash play over there, on Fanduel however, I'll limit him strictly to cash games.

Brandon JenningsBrandon Jennings FD - $6500 DK - $6000
Opponent - CLE
Proj Pts FD - 31.41 DK - 34.16
Derrick Rose is questionable, and if he sits then Brandon Jennings becomes a nice play once again. In three games that Rose has missed so far Jennings has averaged 35.23 fantasy points per game good for 5.4 points per dollar at this salary. Kyrie and the Cavs show little interest in defending opposing guards so as long as this one stays close, and being in New York, I would expect it to, Jennings could be in for a very good night.

Shooting Guard

Giannis AntetokounmpoGiannis Antetokounmpo FD - $10500 DK - $10300
Opponent - PHO
Proj Pts FD - 52.08 DK - 54.46
The alphabet man had a pretty remarkable December and followed it up with a slightly more down to earth January. Then February opened with a thud. A 9/6/4 line against the Jazz left a lot of people frustrated on Wednesday. The thing to remember is that the Jazz are an extremely tough defensive match up, and play at a snails pace, whereas tonight, the Bucks are heading into Phoenix to play a Suns team that plays at a top three pace and are giving up 7% more points than league average to the two. Some people may be off of the freak after getting burnt on Wednesday, followed by last night's 4X performance, but I'm expecting ABC to return to form very soon and tonight has all the makings of the night for it to happen.

Brad BealBrad Beal FD - $7000 DK - $6900
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 32.91 DK - 35.26
Bradley Beal is having a breakout year for the Wizards averaging 34 minutes per game and about a fantasy point per minute. Over his last 5 games he's come in under 20 points just once. Sunday against these same Pelicans, he led the Wiz with 27 points hitting 11 of 16 and three 3s complimented with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. The thing with Beal is there isn't a ton of upside, so I would limit my tournament exposure, but for your cash game needs, he is a safe play that won't break the bank.

Alec BurksAlec Burks FD - $3500 DK - $3400
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 23.85 DK - 25.31
Rodney Hood is looking to miss some time with a bone contusion on his knee. After Hood left the last game against Milwaukee early with the injury, Burks stepped in and saw 25 minutes tying his season high. As long as Hood is out look for Burks to split time with Joe Ingles. For the price Burks is definitely worth taking a flier on, it doesn't take much to pay value at this price, and Charlotte gives up 5% more rebounds and 6% more assists to opposing shooting guards. If he's able to drop double digit points and pick up some periphs he should provide some nice upside with little effort.

Small Forward

Kent BazemoreKent Bazemore FD - $4900 DK - $5000
Opponent - ORL
Proj Pts FD - 25.17 DK - 27.21
Woof. Small forward is a tough one tonight. Sure, you can lock in KD and the King, and go along your merry way, but their match ups leave something to be desired, and there are better ways to spend up on this slate. If we want to get in and out with little trouble, then keep an eye on the Thabo Sefolosha news, and if he misses another one then consider Kent Bazemore. Sure, Bazemore can have you pulling your hair out at times, Thursday against the Rockets he only dropped 7 points, his first bucket coming in the third, but this is another case of price and opportunity mismatch. With no Thabo, Bazemore is sure to see extended run against a Magic team that is rather weak defensively and plays at an average pace. I'm not in love with the idea, but it doesn't take a lot for Bazemore to hit value, and the salary allows you to spend up where it counts.

Otto PorterOtto Porter FD - $6400 DK - $6200
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 29.98 DK - 31.67
Otto Porter is my definition of paying up at small forward tonight. Porter, who leads the league with a 46% three point percentage, has been seeing minutes in the low to mid thirties dating back to December. The Pelicans are a top ten paced team and an average defensive match up. Last Sunday against New Orleans Porter scored 13 points, while picking up 6 rebounds and 4 steals good for 4.5x per dollar, and tonight he gets them on his home court. While there may not be a ton of upside, there's enough safety to definitely lock him in to your cash games, and there could be an argument for tournaments as well.

Joe JohnsonJoe Johnson FD - $3700 DK - $3600
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 17.36 DK - 18.8
Yeah, I warned you SF wasn't pretty, and here we are. Joe Johnson stands to be another beneficiary of Rodney Hoods injury. He's been seeing about 10 more minutes of run per game with Hood out, and paid 7.4X against the Bucks on Wednesday. Even with that, there's not a lot to love about J.J. but the price and opportunity can't be ignored. Johnson is a low floor, high ceiling type of play who at the end of the night, could very well be in someones tournament winning line up, or could provide just enough to make value even at his bargain price. I'll give him a look across all formats, maybe not everywhere, but just enough sprinkled throughout, just in case.

Power Forward

Anthony DavisAnthony Davis FD - $11200 DK - $10400
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 53.12 DK - 55.4
Terrence JonesTerrence Jones FD - $5500 DK - $5500
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 26.49 DK - 27.84
Currently, we have a line on 8 of the ten games tonight, and Vegas has this game as one of the higher scoring games, pushing up on blowout territory, but not completely out of hand with a 7 point spread. We've already discussed a few guys on the other side, now it's time we talk up a few Pelicans. Anthony Davis needs no introduction. I'm sure we've all been burnt at some point but the reward most times far outweighs the risk. Davis has double doubled in 4 straight games. His last time out against Detroit he put up 31 points with 12 boards, 4 blocks and 2 assists in 41 minutes of run. He's having a career best run this season averaging 27.9 points per game, which is 3.5 better than his previous best. Terrence Jones meanwhile, has been the benefactor of Dante Cunninghams injury. the Pels are easing Cunningham back, bringing him in off the bench for limited runs, allowing Jones to keep running with the starting 5. As long as this continues, he makes a great play, and stacking these two against the Wizards is definitely a strategy to consider in tournaments, with Davis being more of a cash game must play.

Serge IbakaSerge Ibaka FD - $6200 DK - $6200
Opponent - ATL
Proj Pts FD - 30.47 DK - 32.23
Serge Ibaka has been on a whole other level lately and now is the time to buy on him. He's seeing a consistent run of 33-38 minutes in 5 of his last 6 games. In his last 3 games he's had 2 double doubles, paying an average of 6.3X his salary which is coming in about $600 shy of where it was a month ago, and where it is going to quickly return to if this type of performance continues. Atlanta presents a tougher match up than he has seen during this recent run but the way he's been playing I'll take a chance on Ibaka now before the salary climbs up to where it should be.

Frank KaminskyFrank Kaminsky FD - $4500 DK - $4200
Opponent - UTA
Proj Pts FD - 24.92 DK - 26.5
DFS is all about price and opportunity, and Frank Kaminsky has hit the opportunity jackpot. With Cody Zeller ruled out for a fifth game with an injury and Spencer Hawes being traded away with Roy Hibbert on Thursday, Kaminsky is bursting in to the spotlight as the starting center for what equates to pocket change. Kaminsky put up an impressive performance against the Warriors on Wednesday, dropping 24 points, picking up 7 rebounds, and 2 assists and steals in 24 minutes of play. If he just manages half of that production against the Jazz then he comes close to value. Power Forward is usually a tough position to find value in, but tonight you can really mix and match any of the 4 plays you see here in all formats and see what kind of line up you can make happen.

Center

Dwight HowardDwight Howard FD - $7400 DK - $7200
Opponent - ORL
Proj Pts FD - 38.71 DK - 40.87
If you're one of those people that plays narratives, you took Howard against his former team the Rockets on Wednesday and were handsomely rewarded. Prior to that the trend for Howard over the last 5 games has been an average of about a fantasy point per minute, with the caveat, that in the games where the Hawks get blown out, his minutes are cut to the upper twenties killing his value. Tonight the Hawks are favored by 7 over the Magic, so he should see a full compliment of minutes. Orlando allows 3% more points and rebounds, and 9% more blocks to opposing bigs so the opportunity is ripe for Howard to have a nice game and easily pay value. Orlando's pace may slow Atlanta down a bit but Howard should have ample opportunity to pay value in cash games, I just question the upside.

Myles TurnerMyles Turner FD - $6700 DK - $6800
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 34.16 DK - 35.44
Myles Turner is really starting to come in to his own during his sophomore season. Last Sunday he notched his tenth double double of the season, the sixth to come in January. He underwhelmed compared to our expectations last night against Brooklyn, but he also saw his minutes capped at 27 in the win. Detroit isn't the most ideal match up for opposing centers, but Turner did manage a 17/7/1/2/2 line against them last time they faced off. I expect Turner to bounce back nicely tonight, though if you wanted to hedge, you could stick with Howard in cash and lock Turner in to your tournament lines.

Greg MonroeGreg Monroe FD - $5700 DK - $5300
Opponent - PHO
Proj Pts FD - 30.43 DK - 31.82
The projection system wants me to mention Greg Monroe here against the Suns. Monroe has been wildly inconsistent this season. His point totals over the last 5 games read 28/6/14/13/8. The minutes have been equally erratic. I suppose the one thing I can say to Monroes favor would be the match up is ripe with opportunity. The Suns play the third fastest pace in the league so the looks will be plenty on both sides. Phoenix is also a bottom ten defense against opposing centers. Strictly a tournament play in my opinion, Monroe could bust, but the possibility for an explosive performance is definitely there.

  1. Thanks for moing it back to normal time. appreciate

  2. Fanduel didn’t know jimmy butler wasn’t going to play by 6:45?? What a joke!

    • I got royally screwed by that. 313 with his 0.

  3. If you do not pay up at SF tonight and go with any of these clowns, you are already starting at 20-30 FP’s behind the field. If you think you can make that up by paying up at other positions, fine. I just don’t see how that is possible with the depth at the other positions.

    • Hey Jerome, $5900 and $4000 for the small forwards in tonight’s optimal lineup and going to cash easily. Paid up for ABC and Howard, both mentioned above, and Wall who didn’t make the article. Thanks for reading though. Appreciate the support.

  4. You guys didn’t know jimmy butler wasn’t going to play. Messed me all the way up. You guys gotta do better.

    • Isnt that your job to figure out who to play. They give you ideas and good match-ups. What you do with them is your problem, not theirs. Dont’t be mad at them because you weren’t paying attention. I got burned by him too but today is a no day!

  5. You guys blaming fan duel and dfsr for Jimmy Butler? Really? Blame the Bulls and their beat writers, because nobody knew. Don’t throw shade where it doesn’t belong.

  6. Hannah, you need to do a better job checking on late lineup news! This site isn’t here to make sure lazy people know what’s going on. You look foolish blaming this site because you lost!

  7. I set my phone alarm for 10 mins before game time. I’ve been burned too many times by not checking injury updates. I feel your pain! Lol

  8. Barnes at SF for 4K on FD. Fournier at 5 with a matchup. Wilson at 5900… not the best matchup but an option with the SF situation (and Gallinari is soft and most likely won’t play).

  9. Also I wouldn’t bank on jones or Monroe, their minutes are all over the place. Super risky plays.

  10. as far as i saw it last night, butler news came out 15 minutes after lineup lock.

  11. No Gobert? Seems he has a crazy good mu vs Kaminsky. I’m actually playing them both.

  12. I placed 2nd in all my line ups last night. I played 25 bucks and won 80 off te advice from this site, you just gotta over look your team 20min before start see if there is any good picks ups from people being out last min..

  13. haha y’all chased Jimmy buckets

  14. That Butler news didn’t hit the wire till 7:18 well after lock it’s as if they waited just to mess with the betting. I wonder just how much the mob has to do with the news release times and what insiders know before news is released.

  15. That 7:18 Butler news was on Rotoworld and Rotogrinders does anyone know of a web sight that had the news sooner?

  16. A lot of these picks are pure GPP. (T Jones, Monroe, Joe Johnson….) Seriously? Stick to cash game plays. Save your money fellas and just stick to RotoGrinders where their input can actually win you money.

  17. Man…. FUCK Jimmy Butler! “My foot hurts” Get out there and play with yo’ bitchass!!

  18. Dud city tonight. At least Alphabet came through to prevent the 0-fer…

  19. Good stuff as usual, I had a 301 with the Buckets BS. The guys here put in the work
