LOS ANGELES DODGERS

This legitimately might be the last time you get a chance to stack against Bartolo Colon, so we'd suggest you take advantage of it. The 44-year-old is reportedly considering retirement and could make a decision on his future after tonight's start against the Dodgers. He's been a shell of his former self this season, getting blistered in 13 starts with the Braves, then giving up four runs on eight hits in just four innings in his Twins debut last week. Stacking the Dodgers could be extremely chalky tonight, but we just can't recommend the full fade. They're a top-five offense in both wRC+ and wOBA vs. RHP, and Bartolo comes in with a 8.19 ERA/4.88 FIP/4.90 xFIP. The usual suspects (Seager, Bellinger, Turner, Chris Taylor) are the first place we're going to look; they each come in with a wOBA over .370 in the split. But don't overlook Joc Pederson, Yasiel Puig and Yasmani Grandal; all three have an ISO over .225 and a wOBA north of .345.

TEXAS RANGERS

The Rangers aren't usually a team we go to against lefties, but with temps in the 90s, Globe Life Park is one of the best hitting environments in baseball, so we're willing to consider it. And when the lefty in question is struggling as badly as Adam Conley, sure, go ahead and sign us up. One caveat here: Conley doesn't give up many home runs, which is kind of a downer. But on the other hand it makes the fact that he comes in with a 4.88 FIP/5.65 xFIP all the more eye-opening. Opposing offenses are cranking out the runs against Conley thanks to a combination of free passes (4.67 BBs/9) and hard contact (.343 xwOBA allowed). We'll have to see how the batting order shakes out, but Adrian Beltre and Mike Napoli are our preferred building blocks against southpaws. The at-bats this season are too scant to tell us much, but dating back to 2016, Beltre has a .406 wOBA and Napoli owns a .364 ISO in the split.

DETROIT TIGERS

I kicked around a few teams for this third spot -- we've got lots of teams with implied run totals over 5, and then there's the A's, who are super cheap. The Tigers give us a little bit of both. They're in a good spot against Jason Hammel (5.26 xFIP), and they're reasonably priced. And while Comerica Park isn't a great hitting venue, the Tigers do just fine there, boasting a .348 wOBA, .194 ISO and .819 OPS at home this season. They're also one of the unluckiest teams in baseball this season, according to MLB's Statcast. Miggy, V-Mart, Castellanos and Alex Avila have all out-performed their results in xwOBA vs. actual wOBA vs. righties this season, and should be due for some positive regression. Avila and Miggy look like the top two plays if you're paying up for pitching, and don't skip over Justin Upton, either. He'll cost a little more, but delivers nice upside with a .233 ISO vs. RHP this season.
