Quarterbacks

Josh Allen FD 8800 DK 8100
Opponent MIA
Proj Points FD - 25.06 DK - 25.79

Through his six games, Josh Allen is first among quarterbacks in DraftKings per game scoring at 28.22 and he’s third overall behind only Derrick Henry and Cooper Kupp. It’s quarterbacks all the way down after that, but Allen is the best among the group. Miami ranks 25th in defensive DVOA this season and is actually allowing the 5th-most opponents plays per game as well. This lines up perfectly for Allen considering how much the Bills want to keep the ball in the air with their superstar quarterback. Allen has the sixth-most rushing yards among quarterbacks this season and that's even without being totally pressed to do so in the offense.

Trevor Lawrence FD 6700 DK 5500
Opponent SEA
Proj Points FD - 18.4 DK - 19.16

This matchup lines up very well for the rookie with Lawrence facing off against a pretty bad Seattle team. Over the course of the season, the Seahawks have allowed the most opponent plays and ranks 25th overall in defense against the pass. It’s been an up-and-down first season for Lawrence though, from a fantasy perspective, he does offer a higher floor because he will get out and run. He’s averaging more than four rushes per game and has a couple of touchdowns on the ground. And over the last four weeks, he’s improving his accuracy completing 66% of his passes in that stretch. He’s coming cheaper on a week we might want to load up at the other positions.

Running Backs

Darrell Henderson Jr. FD 7700 DK 6500
Opponent HOU
Proj Points FD - 20.3 DK - 22.37

Running backs in positive game scripts is the place to be and almost no one projects to have a better one than Henderson this week against the Texans. The Rams come in as -14 road favorites against Houston and Henderson is set to, once again, dominate the touches out of the backfield. He played 88% of the snaps in Week 7, totaling 21 touches (15 carries and six targets) even though the yards didn’t exactly rack up. Nevertheless, He’s looking like a chalk option going into Week 8 and the price isn’t making it all that difficult on either site.

Leonard Fournette FD 7200 DK 6300
Opponent NO
Proj Points FD - 17.34 DK - 19.28

Fournette played only 53% of the snaps in Week 7, but that was because the Bucs were crushing the Bears into oblivion and barely needed to break a sweat in the second half. He’s been the clear bell cow for this team for a few weeks now and dominated the first half snaps. He finished with 15 carries and four targets, totaling 90 yards and touchdown with relative ease. Even with Tampa wanting to pass the ball a ton, there is still plenty of usage for him in this offense and he is a favorite against the Saints once again.

Elijah Mitchell FD 5800 DK 5400
Opponent CHI
Proj Points FD - 13.37 DK - 14.11

Even with the 49ers struggling against the Colts on Sunday night, Mitchell was still able to garner the lion’s share of the touches out of the backfield. He played 66% of the snaps and carried the ball 18 times. He put up nearly six yards per carry on the ground. If that’s going to be the case in a runaway loss, then a better game script (possibly) against the Bears looks even better. He’s coming very cheap on FanDuel at under $6K. Because of the lack of targets I’m not interested in him on DraftKings.

Wide Receivers

Cooper Kupp FD 9200 DK 9000
Opponent HOU
Proj Points FD - 23.39 DK - 28.42

Kupp is the NFL target leader with 81 through seven weeks and the next-closest guy is about 10% behind him. It’s pretty unreal what he’s done so far and as mentioned before, his 28.91 DraftKings points per game is the best in the league. He’s just such a tough fade on a week-to-week basis having seen double-digit targets every single week. The Houston defense shouldn’t provide much in the way of resistance here and frankly, considering how much Stafford looks his way, the only real concern is if the game turns into a total blowout.

Mike Evans FD 7500 DK 7000
Opponent NO
Proj Points FD - 18.15 DK - 21.66

Chris Godwin FD 7200 DK 6400
Opponent NO
Proj Points FD - 16.64 DK - 20.26

When Antonio Brown was officially ruled out last week both of these guys found their way into our optimizer’s top lineups. And it was a good thing too with an under-owned Mike Evans helping to win the day. He had 10 targets and finished with 76 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, a chalkier Godwin was good in his own right, leading the team with 11 targets and finishing with a team-high 111 yards. The Bucs have the second-highest pass-to-run ratio in the league and will continue to keep the ball in the air until the game is well in hand. If Brown is back in then both of these guys probably can’t be used in cash so keep an eye on this situation.

If Antonio Brown is back in the mix and we need to downgrade the Bucs’ WRs a little bit then I think we can look at the group in Cincinnati. Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase would look like solid options at their respective price points against the Jets.

Tight Ends

Ricky Seals-Jones FD 5400 DK 3800
Opponent DEN
Proj Points FD - 9.8 DK - 12.17

Over the last three weeks, Ricky Seals-Jones has the 5th-most tight end targets in the league. It’s not an overwhelming number, but sure looks a lot better when you see his prices. He’s the 10th-most expensive TE on both the DraftKings and FanDuel main slate. That’s a great bargain for how much Heinicke is looking his way in the offense. We can keep running him out there without much hesitation.

Dan Arnold FD 4900 DK 2800
Opponent SEA
Proj Points FD - 6.99 DK - 8.58

We mostly want to go cheap at tight end and this is one way to go. He isn’t going overwhelming target share, but few at the position do anyway. Lawrence has looked Arnold’s way since the latter came over from the Panthers in the trade and he’s coming near the minimum on DraftKings.

Defense / Special Teams

Washington Football Team FD 3400 DK 2100
Opponent DEN
Proj Points FD - 6.97 DK - 6.97

The Broncos have been sacked the fifth-most times in the league this season, allowing opposing defenses to get to Teddy Bridgewater over and over. Meanwhile, Washington is about league average at getting to the quarterback on the year. They are priced at the minimum on DraftKings which actually, I think, makes this a pretty easy choice all things considered. This game has a lower total and isn’t likely to feature all that much scoring.

After Washington, you might be looking at paying all the way up for a defense or punting altogether. Teams like the Rams and the Bengals play the Texans and Jets (and Joe Flacco) respectively and could really rack up points in these matchups. But you are going to definitely pay for the pleasure.
