Point Guard

George Hill FD - $4600 DK - $3800
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 26.83 DK - 27.09>

It looks like we are going to play a few different Bucks in cash on this slate. Hill is filling in for the injured Jrue Holiday in the starting lineup and is coming off a solid game in the role. While sometimes he can get lost in the offense, last time out Hill took 10 shots and finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists in his 30 minutes. It wasn’t an overwhelming performance, but more than enough to get the job done at these prices, especially on DraftKings where he is simply coming too cheap.

Russell Westbrook FD - $9200 DK - $9900
Opponent - HOU
Proj Pts FD - 47.87 DK - 51.92

Lebron James is currently questionable for this game. If he were to sit then Westbrook would become a lock for cash games. But even if James plays in this one, I think there is a case enough to consider Russ at his FanDuel price. In games Lebron has played this season, Westbrook is averaging 15 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, with those numbers dragged down by a disastrous first game of the year against the Warriors. Lop that one off and you get close to a triple-double average with 17 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. Plus, Westbrook has 11 steals on the season as well. I think he’s moderately safe no matter who the Lakers have tonight.

Kyle Lowry (FD 5900 DK 7100) is still too cheap on FanDuel.

Shooting Guard

Cade Cunningham FD - $5000 DK - $3600
Opponent - MIL
Proj Pts FD - 21.39 DK - 23.01

Cade Cunningham made his NBA debut on Saturday for the Pistons and began to flash some of the superstar promise for the number one overall pick. He played just 19 minutes and scored just two points. But he already showed that he’s going to get up shots in this offense and there aren’t going to be many 1-8 shooting nights. Plus he grabbed seven boards in limited run and dished out two assists as well. I think we see the minutes uptick just a bit here and he’s coming at punt pricing on DraftKings. He should play enough to warrant cash game ownership over there.

Grayson Allen FD - $4900 DK - $4800
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 26.4 DK - 29.72

The Bucks are going to be something of a theme here simply because they are so thin their starting ranks right now. Allen took the third-most shots on the team last game against the Jazz, finishing with 18 points and six rebounds. He should see a little north of 30 minutes in this game and the Pistons aren’t going to bring an overwhelming defensive presence. The sub-$5K price tag on both sites puts him into cash game consideration for sure even if the ceiling is a bit limited.

Small Forward

Kevin Porter Jr. FD - $5900 DK - $6200
Opponent - LAL
Proj Pts FD - 30.74 DK - 34.44

If the Rockets can keep this game close then we should see Porter play in the mid-30s in terms of minutes. That being said, it might be tough for Houston to stay in this one if the Lakers are full strength even though the latter has looked bad at times this season. Porter’s price is down on FanDuel thanks to an inconsistent season thus far. But he’s still getting up double-digit shots per game and is able to contribute rebounds and assists as well. Jalen Green and a healthy Christian Wood have, for sure, cut into the usage, but I think Porter is still viable here.

If Bam Adebayo is out again then Jimmy Butler (FD 10000 DK 9100) would become a lock-and-load play against the Mavericks. He has been so good, he is probably just a play regardless on DraftKings at that price. We need to wait on that news heading into the evening slate.

If Brandon Ingram is out then Josh Hart (FD 5500 DK 4900) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (FD 6100 DK 6700) would be cash game plays even against a tougher Phoenix team. Hart is especially intriguing after playing 30 minutes in the start last game. He dropped 16 points and eight rebounds.

Power Forward

Giannis Antetokounmpo FD - $11300 DK - $11600
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 67.56 DK - 69.41

Thanasis Antetokounmpo FD - $4200 DK - $3100
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 26.05 DK - 25.56

Let’s just pair the Greek Freaks why don’t we. It isn’t often we get to stack a pair of brothers in cash and this represents the most letters we’ve ever put into a single position write-up before without a doubt. The Giannis side of this is an easy one. The Bucks are playing very shorthanded right now with Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, and Brook Lopez all on the shelf. It’s meant more minutes, and a bit more usage for Giannis who was already the top fantasy, per-game scorer on the season. He’s a pretty easy play here against a Detroit team that is playing a top-10 pace and a bottom-10 defense. That is the fantasy sweet spot for sure.

And then there is Thanasis who has drawn a couple of starts on the season, but last game played his most minutes yet. He ran 32, put up 15 shots, was able to (mostly) stay out of foul trouble, and finished with 10 points and nine rebounds. The price hasn’t come up anywhere close to enough to match the opportunity he now has with the Bucks so thin in their ranks. I suspect both of these guys are chalk options on the slate.

Center

Rudy Gobert FD - $8200 DK - $8100
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 45.01 DK - 46.64

Rudy Gobert just continues to do Rudy Gobert things from a fantasy perspective, racking up rebounds and posing a nightly double-double threat. On the season, he’s averaging 16 points and 17 rebounds, both of which would represent career-highs for the center. The blocks are down a bit, but the other stats are more than making up for that. He’ll face a Kings’ team on Tuesday that is playing the fourth-fastest pace in the league on the season and once again ranks among the worst defensively. Gobert is a high-floor play here and is especially good on DraftKings with the double-double bonus.

Strongly consider Jonas Valanciunas (FD 8600 DK 8500) who has been a fantasy monster this season.
