Point Guard

Trae Young FD - $9500 DK - $10400
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 49.97 DK - 55.23

The Kings are coming on the back-to-back here after getting completely run out of the gym by the Celtics on Tuesday. And we can roll guys up against them again. Trae is in a fantastic spot against the third-worst defense in the league running an above-average pace. He’s playing just about 36+ minutes right now and has scored at least 28 points in each of the last five games. With double-digit assists in two of the last four, there are clear signs that the fantasy production is all well and fine and the FanDuel price is a fairly easy call considering the context.

Cole Anthony FD - $5300 DK - $6700
Opponent - LAC
Proj Pts FD - 31.46 DK - 35.12

It can sometimes be tough, mentally, to play a dude when the short-term performance has looked bad. But those can also be the best times to do it. Because others are game log watching and missing some of the value. I think that’s the case with Anthony here whose price, especially on FanDuel, has really fallen of late. A lot of it is around the shooting which is way down from three and the field overall over the last month. Yes, the volume is down too with the Magic getting healthier. But there’s been an overcorrection with the price here thanks to some run bad overall. I am all for playing him on FanDuel and actually think his floor is pretty high on that price.

Shooting Guard

James Harden FD - $10200 DK - $11500
Opponent - DEN
Proj Pts FD - 57.58 DK - 63.07

Harden is a bit hard to figure here. On the one hand, the Nets need every single thing out of him here and he’s coming off a 33 point, 11 assist, 12 rebounds game against the Lakers that more than paid the day. But then there are the 37 minutes a game he’s playing this season that rank second in the league (per game) to only Fred VanVleet who is now out with knee soreness. It would seem to make sense to go back to the well with Harden here considering the crazy floor we have on his production. But I’m a but worried the Nets start getting concerned with the workload. This is something to monitor, but Harden is still a good play.

Jalen Suggs FD - $6700 DK - $5800
Opponent - LAC
Proj Pts FD - 36.02 DK - 39.19

Suggs is like the opposite of Cole Anthony in that he’s been pouring it on of late and we can probably feel much better about the play even though they are on the same team. Though he’s struggled from three over the short-term ( 3-15 over the last five games), he’s still scoring plenty thanks to his ability to get to the rim and find some shots in the mid-range. Plus, he’s getting to the free-throw line as well. And it’s not just the scoring. Suggs is averaging about six rebounds and six assists per game since returning from injury, even with the minutes still ramping up. He feels like a higher floor play against the Clippers here, especially on his DraftKings price.

Small Forward

Cameron Johnson FD - $5000 DK - $4300
Opponent - UTA
Proj Pts FD - 29.35 DK - 32.14

With Jae Crowder out of the lineup on Monday, Cameron Johnson got the start and a ton of run for the Suns. He ended up playing 38 minutes in the win over the Jazz which was definitely a lot harder than Phoenix thought it would be. Johnson ended up taking 12 shots and finished with 20 points and six rebounds while pitching in three steals as well. It’s mostly the minutes we are looking at here and the dude has a very high floor at these prices on these salaries. The DraftKings’ price is especially intriguing and I suspect he’s, once again, a popular play over there.

OG Anunoby FD - $6800 DK - $6700
Opponent - CHI
Proj Pts FD - 38.8 DK - 40.87

We’ll go through a few of the other Raptors’ guys here shortly, but I do think that O.G. is a play against the Bulls almost regardless of who is able to run for Toronto. Nick Nurse and company are playing this guy insane minutes of late with Anunoby running an average of 37 minutes over the course of January. It’s almost malpractice, but we’ll take it for our fantasy needs. It just means the Raps have such a high floor on their production because they get to be out there more than really any other team. I like the price on both sites with the understanding that there are a lot of mouths to feed on this team. But the minutes make up for that.

Power Forward/ Center

Hassan Whiteside FD - $5500 DK - $6600
Opponent - PHO
Proj Pts FD - 30.54 DK - 31.77

The Jazz were sort of a mess the other night, but Whiteside still got the start and was able to come back after a two-week break and still play 32 minutes. That’s a good sign for where we can project him when it comes to this game against the Suns. Putting him in this minutes’ range makes him a play on both sites, but especially on FanDuel where it’s tough to see anything but foul trouble causing you issues on the price point. In a 30+ minute average for the season, he’s basically a double-double waiting to happen and that should be the case here against a Suns’ team he just faced. There he had 10 points and nine rebounds in 32 minutes but that was with playing with the rest of the Utah B-team. They should have a mostly full squad going in this one.

Jakob Poeltl FD - $7800 DK - $6200
Opponent - MEM
Proj Pts FD - 39.95 DK - 40.55

We gave you Poeltl as a clear play on Tuesday against the Rockets and the dude ended up going for 18 points and nine rebounds in just 21 minutes with San Antonio blowing out Houston early. The per-minute production was insane, something this dude has just been about this season. And the DraftKings price simply hasn’t corrected. Is Memphis as good a matchup as Houston? No way. But this guy is just coming too cheap once again over on DK. On FanDuel, I’m taking the savings on Whiteside for sure though.

In terms of power forward on FanDuel, we are going to need to keep an eye on a couple of situations. The first is in Toronto where they played without Fred VanVleet and Scottie Barnes on Tuesday. If that was the case again then Point-Pascal Siakam (FD 8900 DK 8900) who finished 12 assists (oh and 24 points and nine rebounds) would be in play once again. As would Precious Achiuwa (FD 3700 DK 3800) who got the start for Barnes and was solid. Keep an eye on this one.

Also, if Jarrett Allen sits again, then Kevin Love (FD 5700 DK 6000) is another one to take a look at. He’s been one of the very best point-per-minute fantasy guys out there this season. If Jarrett Allen were to sit again, I think we could play Love at these prices. He’s played completely out of his head this season and even coming off the bench is still something like a value at 25-26 minutes which is nuts.
