Point Guard/ Shooting Guard

Fred VanVleet FD - $8300 DK - $8300
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 46.52 DK - 49.19

The Rockets were already without Alperen Sengun, and now won’t have Jabari Smith Jr. following his one-game suspension. That’s going to leave a lot of shots and production open against one of the worst teams in basketball. So basically, this is the perfect spot to stack everyone playing on Houston.

Fred VanVleet had struggled a bit in the scoring department, but broke out of it last game, going 11-16 from the field and finishing with 34 points against the Jazz. That will be on the high end of expectation, but his price is just too low on both sites considering the context around this Houston team.

Jalen Green FD - $8500 DK - $8800
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 45.09 DK - 49.02

Jalen Green is on such a heater right now, taking a total leap since Sengun left the lineup, and leading the Rockets on their current eight-game winning streak. Over the last five games, Green is averaging 34.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and four assists, taking more than 20 shots per game.

It’s a leap for sure, and we actually still probably haven’t hit the right price point for him. Having FVV and Green as the core of cash games is almost certainly the right move here and they will be popular on both sites.

Miles McBride FD - $5900 DK - $5400
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 34.55 DK - 36.22

It’s hard to argue with a guy who plays 48 minutes a game, something Mile “Deuce” McBride did last game against the Nets. In fact, over the last three games, McBride has only *not* played in five minutes. This is basically insane in modern basketball, something that no player ever does. And yet, here we are.

He has scored 26, 11, and 29 points in those affairs, getting hot in two games from beyond the arc. He actually doesn’t do tons on the rebounds and assists front, but you really just can’t bet against the crazy minutes.

Even coming off the bench, Dalano Banton (FD 5600 DK 5900) makes for an interesting play considering how injured the Blazers are and how good he’s been from a fantasy perspective.

Small Forward

Amen Thompson FD - $7800 DK - $6800
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 43.51 DK - 44.1

We are going all Rockets all the time here on Monday, and it makes total sense. They are without two of their biggest minutes and fantasy guys, meaning there is a lot of production to go around. Amen Thompson has been in the starting lineup, playing small-ball five for Houston over the short term.

And while I’d like the minutes to be higher, he does enough across the stat line to warrant a play here at these prices. And if there was a game we could see the run jump into the 34-36 range, this is it with Jabari Smith Jr. out of the lineup. The scoring can come and go, which does make him somewhat risky, but he can rebound so well that it keeps the floor high enough.

DeMar DeRozan FD - $8400 DK - $8200
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 47.23 DK - 49.06

The Bulls draw a great matchup against the lowly Wizards and are still fighting for seeding in the Eastern Conference play-in. Few other guys in this price range have the kind of minutes floor DeMar DeRozan sees if the games are close. He’s played 40+ in four of his last eight games, taking 15+ shots in each of his last three. The Wizards rank second-to-last in defensive efficiency this season and run easily the fastest pace. It’s a dream matchup for DDR and the rest of the Bulls.

Kris Murray (FD 5000 DK 4300) and Toumani Camara (FD 4900 DK 4500) both ran high minutes for the Blazers last time out, and could again here. Coming in the low-$4K range on DraftKings makes them good plays there.

Power Forward/ Center

Jock Landale FD - $5500 DK - $5300
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 33.14 DK - 33.51

Jock Landale should draw the start for the suspended Jabari Smith Jr. here on Monday and would be in line for solid minutes at middle-tier pricing. Over the last five games, he’s averaging 22.5 minutes, 10.5 points, five rebounds, and 2.1 blocks+steals. The numbers don’t blow you away, but they are solid enough.

If he spiked minutes close to 30 then he would easily make a value cash play on both sites with the DraftKings salary looking particularly advantageous. I suspect he is a popular play here on both sites unless something else opens up here.

Duop Reath FD - $4800 DK - $4900
Opponent - HOU
Proj Pts FD - 32.91 DK - 35.15

Playing Duop Reath depends solely on whether or not DeAndre Ayton suits up on Monday. If the latter is out, then we can fire Reath in cash games without thinking too much about it. He got the start last game though the Blazers got blown out and he saw “only” 26 minutes.

He still scored 24 points and eight rebounds, easily crushing his price. Again, we need to wait on news here, though the timing works out because he and Landale are playing each other. Swapping in one or the other makes building lineups easier.
