Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/7/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/7/16 Well, we're coming off one of the weirder days in the NBA. An historically great team lost to an historically bad team. Some absolutely huge performances led to lots of 400+ point lineups on a relatively short slate. Just weird. Since this is the NBA, today will probably be weird, too. The big narrative of the day will likely be: Will the Warriors go berserker mode on the poor Magic? Let's break down the top plays. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. Enjoy, POINT GUARD Chris Paul - FD 10000 DK 9700 Opponent - DAL FD Proj. Pts - 46.21 DK Proj. Pts - 48.11 Paul increased on his league leading time of possession per game from 8.7 minutes in January to 9.1 in February. The trend is clear - when Blake is out of the picture, Paul is the entire facilitator of the Clippers' offense. He's got 6 straight games with a double-double, and averaged 6 rebounds during those game as well. He's filling it up right now, and looks like a very safe 50/50 play in a league average match-up with the Mavs. After watching Mudiay get 21 shots in the air against the ailing Deron Williams, it's hard to imagine what Paul can do to him on the 2nd night of a back to back after an overtime game. Rajon Rondo - FD 8600 DK 8000 Opponent - NOP FD Proj. Pts - 38.73 DK Proj. Pts - 39.44 Rondo's been averaging 13 assists a game since the All-Star break, and he's locked into 37-40 minutes a game at the moment. He manages to have the 7th highest time of possession per game in spite of sharing the court with two huge ball hogs (Boogie, Rudy Gay), which is really saying something. The Pelicans have allowed the 10th most points per game to opposing point guards, and this has all the makings of high teens assists game...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/6/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/6/16 March madness is here! Ish. Doesn't it seem like March Madness starts later every year? Isn't March supposed to be a static month - starting around the same time as compared to the first day of the year each year? Are we going to be stuck in sports Hell for much longer, painstakingly going through the motions of basketball as a stand-alone (sorry, Durrell and the NHL crowd) until March Madness and baseball get here? Ah well. At least we can make a bunch of money playing daily fantasy sports. Might as well get to it. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. We've also launched a Stats and Research Page, which includes a lot of the individual statistics that we use to make our projections. It's free! Enjoy, POINT GUARD Holy heck, is this a mess of a day. There's so much uncertainty at basically every position today thanks to a host of factors that we'll get to piece by piece. We'll start with a point guard quagmire. Fun! Russell Westbrook - FD 10700 DK 10800 Opponent - MIL FD Proj. Pts - 48.91 DK Proj. Pts - 50.58 If you want safety for big bucks today, I'm thinking that looks like Sr. Westbrook. I won't play Curry in cash games, Harden is probably overpriced for bad match-ups (though I wouldn't be surprised to see him in some optimal lineups because of weird pricing things today), and on a short-ish slate, we're running out of options fast. Westbrook, meanwhile, is a beacon of consistency. He hasn't scored fewer than 40 fantasy points since January 22nd, and has plenty of big upside games sprinkled in along the way thanks to his permanent triple-double threatening. Milwaukee is about a league average match-up normally, but extended run against Jerryd Bayless makes this a sweeter proposition than usual. I think Westbrook is great in any format. Deron Williams - FD 5600 DK 5600 Opponent - DEN FD Proj. Pts - 27.61 DK Proj. Pts - 29.63 Emmanuel Mudiay - FD 5800 DK 5700 Opponent - DAL FD Proj. Pts...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/29/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/29/16 Leap day is here! Full disclosure, I am a big detractor of February 29th. Let's dive in as to why. 1) I was born on February 28th. When you're born on February 28th, a startling number of people think that's actually leap day. Another startling percentage will make a joke like, "If you were born 1 day later, you'd be like 9 years old right now!!!" No, jerk, I'd be the same age. My birthday would just be March 1st, since I wasn't born in a leap year. 2) It grates against my need for elegant solutions. As a mathy person, I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how things fit together, just so. Meanwhile, we have a calendar that has a number of months with 30 days, a number with 31, and one with 28. Except for sometimes, when it has 29. It just feels like someone gave up along the way to a better solution, not worrying that people like me would have to deal with a lifetime of bad jokes. Where were we? Ah yes, basketball. Basketball being played today. I have thoughts on which players you should play in daily fantasy basketball. Here they are. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. Enjoy, POINT GUARD Russell Westbrook - FD 11000 DK 11100 Opponent - SAC FD Proj. Pts - 53.76 DK Proj. Pts - 55.68 To the surprise of absolutely no one, I'm sure. Westbrook is one of the most consistent big money fantasy players we've seen, and the Kings are a wreck on defense. They've allowed the 5th most fantasy points per...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/20/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/20/16 Happy Saturday! I have a little post traumatic stress thing going from trying to figure out how the trade deadline was going to impact last night's games, but thankfully there isn't quite as much to worry about today. After a 14 game Friday, we get a nice 4 gamer to catch our breath. You ready? Let's get it on. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our lineup builder and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel and DraftKings. A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! POINT GUARD Chris Paul - FD 10000 DK 9400 Opponent - GSW FD Proj. Pts - 46.15 DK Proj. Pts - 48.08 The battle of the high priced point guards ought to be an intense one today, and it should give us a sense as to whether the Clips actually miss Blake Griffin or what. They've played the Dubs tough in their two meetings this year, which is a lot more than most can say, and a lot of that has been due to the efforts of CP3. Golden State has been a league average match-up for point guards, but this is a special case since Paul will A) have a chance to stay in the game and B) will have something to prove, as always, against Curry. This isn't to say I mind Steph today - he's also a good play. It's just that Paul is cheaper, and his team has so few other options. Paul still leads the NBA in time of possession in 2016 (thanks, SportVU data), and his floor just seems higher. Goran Dragic - FD 5600 DK 5700 Opponent - WAS FD Proj. Pts - 27.89 DK Proj. Pts - 29.44 This one comes with a little bit of an asterisk. Dragic flies up this list as a clear must play if Dwyane Wade misses another game - he's had the ball in his hands for...
