Our system thinks you are basically rolling the dice with the other three. Luck throws the most of the group, has the most passing touchdowns on the season and works in an offense that’s content to throw the ball a ton in the red zone. The last piece is the key. The Colts air it out when they get close and because of it Luck stands the highest TD expectation on the day. It helps a little more that Vegas thinks the Colts will be playing from behind in this one. Now, Luck hasn’t thrown for more than two touchdowns in a game since November 30th. That’s a minor concern. The Patriots were a middle of the pack team against the pass this season both in terms of average yards per game and average yards per attempt. They aren’t elite, but don’t stink either. I think the volume is what gets Luck there in this game and three touchdown passes is a totally reasonable expectation.   All-Purpose Yards Daniel Herron He is the top expected total yardage guy in our system this week and it isn’t particularly close. The Colts sent a clear statement about game plan last week with Herron. In an effort to keep control of the ball and keep the rock out of a high-powered offense’s hands, they ran Herron 23 times over the course of the game. Of course it helped that they were leading the game and could afford to play some ball control late. But Herron is the clear number one back here and there’s reason to believe they will want to take a similar approach against the Pats rather than getting into a total shootout. Herron tops out the list because of what he does on the ground but also really...

Draftster has a ton of cool stuff going on including the a whole host of Freerolls.  Reminder: This article explores Draftster-specific value and will hone in on some of the major pricing differences we see there. Much like DraftKings, the Draftster model has wider range of salaries, offering some fantastic punt-play value. Keep this in mind.     Quarterback Russell Wilson - $6500 If you are looking for the most value relative to the salary then this is the quarterback to play on Draftster. Seems crazy to think this is who you would run out there on a slate that featured Luck, Brady and Rodgers, but Wilson is coming in so cheap relative to the field. Against a Carolina D that was in the top ten in least yards allowed from scrimmage this season, Wilson threw for 268 yards and 3 TDs. He also chucked in 22 yards rushing. It’s the space he takes with his legs that always gives the dude a high floor. Green Bay’s D isn’t bad, they ranked right around Carolina in total yards. It’s just that I think you are getting so many expected points in relation to price that it becomes diminishing returns spending up for the higher-priced QBs. Granted, making the money work on Draftster (or really anywhere this week) is very tough and you may be in a situation where you have more than enough left over to spend up to say, Luck. It’s that kind of week. But from a value perspective, Wilson is your guy on Draftster.   Running Backs Marshawn Lynch - $6600 In cash games, I’d play both he and Wilson. While I do think it would very difficult for both he and Russell to...

Daily Fantasy Football Picks Divisional Round of the Playoffs – ScoreStreak

Now go get that deposit bonus.   Passing Touchdowns Peyton Manning Andrew Luck I’m including these two guys as the top two in terms of passing touchdown expectations for a couple of reasons. The first is obvious: they rank one and two over the course of the season for passing touchdowns. If prior practice is any indication of future performance (which it isn’t obviously, but in this case I’ll take it) then why not get money in on the two guys who throw it into the end zone the most? (It should be said that Rodgers is in third but only by one passing TD.) The other piece that has these two as the top plays rather than Discount Double Check is the flow of this game should lend itself to a high-scoring affair. Vegas has the over/under at 54, the highest on the day with the Broncos giving seven. With the most points projected and two teams that really enjoy throwing in the red zone, then you are going to get your most passing TDs here. Slot them in as one and two in your ScoreStreak squads and then start hoping for a shootout.   All-Purpose Yards Demarco Murray All-purpose yards is tough this week. With so few teams going and those teams that are often choosing to spread their fantasy love all over the squad, you are left with very limited options in terms of big yardage upside. To start, I wouldn’t feel confident putting anyone in the highest slot because no one is close to a favorite to get there. Even the second slot, frankly, seems dicey. I’ll take Murray as the highest projection simply because he, among any other player on this slate, should touch the ball the most. That ideas alone is worth it. The Cowboys will need to rely on Murray to carry the load in order to keep the ball out of the hands of...

We have our general picks for Week 12 as well as our weekly Podcast. Draftster has a ton of cool stuff going on including the a whole host of Freerolls   Quarterback Phillip Rivers - $6000 One thing I really like about Draftster, as opposed to some of the other salary cap sites is the pricing adjustments on a week-to-week basis. As James mentioned on our podcast this week, an issue with some of the bigger sites is that prices will climb based on a good game, but rarely correct the other way when a guy comes back to Earth. Not so with Draftster as their pricing formula is more prone to swings. I like it for this reason as we are able to put together some truly different squads together and get exposure to players we wouldn’t on other sites. Rivers is a great example of this. He is coming off one dreadful game against the Dolphins and a so-so game last week against the Raiders. Now granted, the Rams have proven (to some degree) that they can handle big name quarterbacks (looking at you Peyton) but at 6K Rivers simply needs to have an average game. The Chargers will throw thirty times or more in a game if the opportunity is there and more than any other quarterback this week on Draftster, Rivers has the chance to completely blow away his salary. And I even think he is rather safe at this price. Drew Brees - $7300 If you want to go a little safer without sacrificing too much on the salary end, then I think slotting in Brees is a perfectly plausible way to go. He sits priced underneath some of the big boys (Manning,...
