Last week's value play article included some real, tournament-winning home runs like Marcus Mariota, Allen Robinson and Scott Chandler. It also included some duds as well. Such is life when trying to capture real contrarian upside. We are getting down to the wire in the NFL and it's tough to come out of nowhere at this point. We want to target some players who the public may be a little down on, but who stand to turn in solid performances.

QUARTERBACKS

Sam Bradford - FD 6700 DK 5300
Opponent- NYG
This game has the second biggest opening line of the weekend thanks in large part to both of these teams being disinterested in defense while also interested in playing fast. Sure Chip Kelly was fired this week, though it doesn't appear like that will change the offense too much for Philly. As a team they are running a play every 21 seconds. By comparison the Giants are running a play every 25 seconds (second fastest in the league). The difference between first and second fastest here is the same difference as second and 30th team. This is the long way to say Philly sprints in games. And so do the Giants. Bradford will have a ton of opportunity to pass. The Giants rank 27th in the league in DVOA against the pass. Is Bradford good? No. But he's affordable and in just the right kind of game.

RUNNING BACKS

Adrian Peterson - FD 8300 DK 7200
Opponent- GB
While an $8300 running back doesn't necessarily qualify as a "value" in the truest version of the DFS word, I did want to mention Peterson because he wasn't one of the plays in the main article. The Vikings are in a game that matters in that they are playing for home field advantage in the first round and are incentivized to put their best foot forward so to speak. Peterson could go bell cow in this one against a Packer team ranked 18th in DVOA against the rush.

Chris Ivory - FD 6500 DK 4400
Opponent- BUF
I see this as more of a DraftKings value than anything else. The Jets are in a near must win game where they control their own fate for a playoff berth. Ivory's ceded some carries to Bilal Powell over the last couple of games, but he's coming at discount on DK, especially if he can find the end zone against a Bills team ranked 31st in the league against the rush.

Todd Gurley - FD 8600 DK 7400
Opponent- SF
He's hurt right now and in a walking boot. I understand this of course. But if he's given the clearance to play this week and you think he's close to 100% then he should be on radars. San Fran is well below average in DVOA against the run this season and if Gurley were to see an 18-20 carry load then I love the value. But he's further down the list because of the injury concerns. Additionally, if Gurley were to be ruled out, then I would take a stab at some of the Rams' secondary options.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Jordan Matthews - FD 6600 DK 4700
Opponent- NYG
He's coming off of two huge weeks, averaging 7/130/1 against the Cardinals and Redskins. This week he snags a matchup against the aforementioned Giants who struggle mightily against the pass. Matthews' price remains depressed because his season's been, by and large, a disappointment. But if he's coming on in garbage time here then I think this is a great place to buy. Stacking this game in general seems EV+ and Matthews appears near a lock for me on DraftKings.

Anquan Boldin - FD 5800 DK 3500
Opponent- STL
He's a bargain basement guy on DraftKings who sees enough looks in the offense to warrant a consideration there if you are looking to spend up on other slots. He's seen double digit targets twice in the last five weeks and there's a solid chance he's playing from behind this week against the Rams. Not a sexy play, but the price is low enough to consider.

TIGHT ENDS

Jacob Tamme - FD 4900 DK 3300
Opponent- NO
Chris covered the Ertz's and Miller's of the world in his piece. Those guys are quality value plays at the position this week and probably where I'll be going on the cheap side. But I'm mentioning Tamme here because really anyone involved on the offensive side for the Falcons is fair game. He is coming real cheap and saw four targets last week. The Saints are so epically bad against the pass that you can look for anyone running routes in this game.
