Welcome to another night of daily fantasy hockey with Daily Fantasy Sports Rankings. After a slow night on Friday we are back with 14 games on a busy Saturday in the NHL. We will be providing two picks for each position on the main slate(10 games starting at 7:00 PM et) only.

The following four teams are playing on back to back nights:

  • New York Islanders (Road) *3rd Game in 4 Nights*
  • St. Louis Blues (Road)
  • Washington Capitals (Home)
  • Tampa Bay Lightning (Home)

The Boston Bruins are also playing a third game in four nights and have lost five straight games overall. They will get a great matchup to bounce back as they travel to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs who sit in the basement of the Eastern Conference.

There is some outstanding value at goalie tonight with three backups (Scott Darling-CHI, Andrei Vasilevskiy-TB, Antti Raanta-NYR) on good teams already confirmed starting and all have excellent matchups.

If you have any questions throughout the day be sure to join the conversation in the comments section below. Also, be sure to check LeftWingLock to get confirmation on all of the starting goalies for Tuesday. Now onto the picks.

Goaltenders

Jonathan Quick
Opponent - EDM
FD - 8500 DK - 8200

He is going through another cold stretch where he has lost three straight and hasn't recorded a save % above .900 in either of those games. This has pushed his salary down making him a terrific GPP play on Saturday night. The Kings are heavy favorites at home as they face the Oilers who own the leagues worst road record and sit in the basement of the Western Conference. Quick has faced the Oilers four times this season already, winning each game with an impressive .935 save percentage. Look for the Kings to snap the losing streak and get back on track in a big way.

Antti Raanta
Opponent - MON
FD - 8300 DK - 7800

With the Rangers playing back to back games Saturday and Sunday they have chose to use Raanta tonight and save King Henrik for the huge matchup vs. the Penguins. Raanta has won both of his last two starts, stopping 56 of 59 shots on goal. With the Metropolitan Division out of reach the Rangers will want to lock up 2nd and home ice in the first round. Look for a spirited effort tonight vs. the Canadiens who have plummeted since losing Carey Price and have gone 10-15 since the All Star break.

Also Consider - Pekka Rinne - Nashville Predators vs. CBJ

CENTER

Patrice Bergeron
Opponent - TOR
FD - 7300 DK - 7300

He started March off hot with points in six straight games but has since gone on a cold streak with only one point in his previous six games. The Bruins and Bergeron will be in a great spot on Saturday as they travel to Toronto to face the Leafs who sit dead last in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins struggles have pushed them down to 3rd in the Atlantic Division, only one point ahead of the Red Wings who are also tied for the final wild card. Look for Bergeron to have a big game on Saturday and put the team on his back as they look to get back in the win column.

Stack with - Brad Marchand, Lee Stempniak

Ryan Johansen
Opponent - CBJ
FD - 6500 DK - 5100

If you are looking for a narrative on Saturday you won't find one bigger than this matchup. Johansen will face the team who drafted him 4th overall for the first time since being traded to the Predators. He has tallied 25 points in 34 games since being traded and has recorded his third straight 50 point season. He has provided offensive upside on the Preds recent run with two multi point games in his last four. I don't normally predict multi point games but I am tonight. Expect Johansen to be fired up!

Stack with - James Neal, Calle Jornkrok, Filip Forsberg(PP)

Also Consider - Anze Kopitar - Los Angeles Kings vs. EDM

WINGERS

Corey Perry
Opponent - OTT
FD - 7000 DK - 6400

The Ducks star winger is starting to heat up again with points in five of his last six games despite the team losing six of their last 10 games. While he has been consistent, he has lacked upside with only one multi point game this month. That could change tonight as the Ducks have a terrific matchup vs. the Senators who rank 28th in goals allowed per game.

Stack with - Rickard Rakell, Ryan Getzlaf, Brandon Pirri, Jamie McGinn

Michael Raffl
Opponent - ARI
FD - 4700 DK - 3800

Going back to my Flyers tonight for GPP value. Talked about him last week being a great value as the Flyers have seen huge secondary scoring down the stretch. He has tallied nine points in his last 10 games including three multi point games. I fully expect the Flyers to come out strong again tonight as they sit tied with Detroit for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with nine games remaining.

Stack with - Sean Couturier, Sam Gagner

Also Consider - Mats Zuccarello - New York Rangers @ MON

DEFENSE

Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Opponent - PHI
FD - 6400 DK - 6100

He has returned from injury and looked every bit as good as before. He has picked up an assist in each game since being back and has put six shots on goal and been +5. He has provided a safe floor all season as he has averaged over three shots on goal per game and also has offensive upside as 27 of his 51 points have come on the powerplay.

Jake Muzzin
Opponent - EDM
FD - 4900 DK - 5500

He has been a staple in my cash lineups all year as he adds value even when held off the scoresheet. He has averaged over 2.5 shots on goal per game and over 1.5 blocks per game making him safe in all formats. He will have added upside on Saturday as the Kings go up against the Oilers who sit at the bottom of the league once again with the 26th ranked defense.

Also Consider - Shayne Gostisbehere - Philadelphia Flyers @ ARI

  • Why dont the opt give me the option for player news when i click on him? Not happy for i pay for a service and its below par!!!!

    • We don't have player modals loaded for NHL. Next season. This season we've been focused on testing the metrics.

  • I find myself going heavy on Bos1, Phil2 and NSH1 lines with Karlsson, Gio, Larson, Ghost Bear, Quick, Raanta and Rhine. Are there other stacks I should be considering for a contrarian LU?

  • The NHL hockey lineup tool is not an optimizer like Basketball. It is only in the BETA stages this season and we are looking into getting player data on a pop up . You can talk to support but that feature was never mentioned for NHL. Sorry for the inconvenience

  • I like what you got their Justin. I am also heavy on TB 1/2 as well. Going to get some LAK stacks too.
