Welcome to another night of daily fantasy hockey with Daily Fantasy Sports Rankings. There are five games on the NHL schedule tonight with some huge matchups with playoff implications.

The Wild and the Red Wings face off as both teams try grab onto a final playoff spot. Expect a playoff atmosphere and low scoring game. The Bruins, trying to hold on to 3rd in their Division, face the Blues who sit 2 points behind the Stars for the Central Division. The Blackhawks, still without Crawford, head to Winnipeg s they try and hold off the Predators for 3rd in the Central Division. The Presidents Trophy winners try will attempt to get Holtby closer to tying and breaking Martin Brodeur's win record. They face a tough task in Colorado as the Avs try to catch the Wild for the final West wild card spot. Finally, we have the Canucks playing on a back to back in Cali and facing the Ducks who are fighting the Kings for the Pacific Division.

The Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks are the only teams playing on back to back nights and both are playing a third game in four nights.

If you have any questions throughout the day be sure to join the conversation in the comments section below. Also, be sure to check LeftWingLock to get confirmation on all of the starting goalies for Tuesday. Now onto the picks.

Goaltenders

John Gibson
Opponent - VAN
FD - 8300 DK - 8000

He has a bit of an injury scare last game when he exited in the 2nd period against the Flames. Nothing serious as he returned for the 3rd period and picked up an unofficial shutout as Anderson gave up goals in his absence. If he is back in the net tonight he will be my top overall goalie. He has been excellent lately going 3-1 in his last four games with a .940 save percentage. He gets another favorable matchup tonight at home to the Canucks playing on back to back nights on the road and ranked 29th in overall offense.

Braden Holtby
Opponent - COL
FD - 9600 DK - 8700

With six games remaining in the regular season, Holtby only needs two wins to tie and three to break Martin Brodeur's wins record. Even though the Caps have clinched the Presidents Trophy it sounds like(through radio interviews I heard from many players) they are extremely motivated and take pride in the record as a team overall. He is coming off a shootout loss to the Flyers(hell yeah) but has been great lately with a 6-2-2 record and .927 save % over his last 10 games.

Also Consider - Scott Darling - Chicago Blackhawks @ WPG

CENTER

Alexander Steen
Opponent - BOS
FD - 6900 DK - 6100

He returned to the ice last game vs. COL and picked up right where he left off, with a multi point game. Looking back through the last eight games he has tallied seven points(five on the PP) with 22 shots on goal. He gets a good matchup tonight at home vs. the Bruins who are struggling at the worst possible time of the year, losing six of their last 10 games.

Stack with - David Backes, Patrick Berglund

Evgeny Kuznetsov
Opponent - COL
FD - 6200 DK - 6500

He has been everythign the Caps had hoped for and more going into his second full season in the NHL. He has already doubled his point total fro last year with 74 points in just 76 games played with an amazing +28 rating. He struggled a bit lately but broke out of the slump with an assist vs. PHI in a hard fought Shootout loss Wednesday. Look for the Caps top line to take control tonight and try and get Holtby one win closer to the record.

Stack with - Alex Ovechkin, Marcus Johnasson

Also Consider - Patrice Bergeron - Boston Bruins @ STL

WINGERS

Corey Perry
Opponent - VAN
FD - 7400 DK - 6600

The Ducks have won three straight and six of their last 10 games as they battle for the Pacific Division with the LA Kings. The second line of Perry, Rakell, McGinn has been red hot lately with 13 goals in their last 10 games. Perry himself has scored four goals and added four assists. While he has been missing the multi point upside recently he will look to extend his point streak to five games tonight in a home matchup vs. the Canucks playing on back to back nights in Cali.

Stack with - Rickard Rakell, Jamie McGinn

Dylan Larkin
Opponent - MIN
FD - 4900 DK - 5200

Scoring goals has been a tough task for the Red Wings lately as they enter the final weeks of the season sitting on the outside of the playoffs looking to get in. They are two points behind the Flyers for the wild card and one point behind the Bruins in the division. Every game from here on out should be a playoff atmosphere from the Wings and they will need to find some offense fast. Larkin got off to a hot start to his rookie season with 33 points in the first half but has struggled with only 11 since the All Star break. He could very well break out tonight as the shot volume indicates the goals are on their way.

Stack with - Henrik Zetterberg, Justin Abdelkader

Also Consider - Blake Wheeler - Winnipeg Jets vs. CHI

DEFENSE

Dustin Byfuglien
Opponent - CHI
FD - 6100 DK - 6500

On a night with few elite fantasy defensemen I will turn to Byfuglien who will face the team who drafted him back in 2003. While he has struggled recently with only two points he has provided a fairly safe floor with 28 shots and 21 blocks over his last 10 games. He is a much better value on FanDuel at a lower price and he also gets rewarded for penalties. He is really good at penalties. LOL.

Erik Johnson
Opponent - WAS
FD - 3500 DK - 5900

This play is strictly for DraftKings cash games only. Like Byfuglien, Johnson has struggled with only four points in his last 10 games but has added 31 shots and an incredible 34 blocks which has given him an average over 4 DK points per game. Hard to argue with that floor.

Also Consider - John Carlson - Washington Capitals @ COL

  • who will score more goals tonight wash or ducks?

also does anyone know dfs draftcharts this user cleans up ive been watching him and last week he won like at least 8000$ not to sure what his methods are but mostley see stacking

    • Hey Nate,
Jumping into the Hockey thread which I don't do often because this is Chris's domain. Draftcharts is a DFS NHL pro. Sat next to him at the FHWC. Great guy and def a high volume player.

  • Both are great choices but I am going to go with ANH as the Canucks aren't battling for anything and playing a back to back on the road.

  • I believe he plays a very contrarian approach with stacks. Not saying he doesn't play good players but to get low ownership you need to find good players in less than ideal situations where most people will avoid. Those weird nights where all the chalk plays are shit is when you make your money with that approach. And being a high volume player makes it easy to be risky and play this approach as you have so many irons in the fire. lol

  • Not in love with the NBA slate tonight, loading up HEAVY on some NHL instead. What do you think, Chris?

    Rakell & Perry & Vatanen
    Steen & Berglund
    Ovi & Holtby
    E. Gustafsson
    Helm

  • Rakell missed last game so that's something to keep an eye on. I like Kesler again if he misses. Ducks are -300 today. I am rolling Gibson in every cash game out there. 8k cheap for that type of favorite.

  • Tough night tonight. DefinAtely loading up on ducks players is prob the safest thing to do tonight.
    I like fowler over vatanen
