Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings- 8/26/16

Welcome to our new daily article breaking down some of the other stacking targets on this slate. We covered our system's top value plays in our daily picks article and our updates articles but here we will look at other dudes to consider.

In case you didn’t notice, on Saturday we released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and Player Lab which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. It’s a robust set of tools; well beyond anything we’ve ever had and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

Using tools like these for the NFL season is crucial and you can grab a free 2 WEEK trial to test out yourself.

A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Pat Dean (Twins)
Park - Rogers Centre

Anytime you get a lefty coming to the Rogers Centre you need to seriously consider a Blue Jays’ stack. They run so many righties down their lineup that southpaws run into big issues going through the order more than a couple of times. And Pat Dean isn’t exactly an ace lefty, far from it. He carries in a 4.42 xFIP on the season thanks to a low K rate and the inability to consistently find the strike zone. The Blue Jays have one of the great lefty killers in the game Josh Donaldson, but will also throw in Edwin Encarnacion, Troy Tulowitzki and Russell Martin in the middle of the lineup. Let’s hope the Rogers Centre roof is closed to boost even more power to all parts of the field.

Washington Nationals vs. Jeff Hoffman (Rockies)
Park - Nationals Park

How long do you think Jeff Hoffman will be in the majors? My guess is, not long. He’s had a limited minor league success rate, though he did see an uptick in K rate in AAA. But he’s facing a Nats team that could give him real problems, especially at the top of the order. Trea Turner’s primary issue is the K, but when that expectation is decreased he could be off to the races. Then there’s Daniel Murphy and Bryce Harper in the middle of the order. This might be the best 1-2 lefty bat punch in the majors. Both have different hitter profiles, but are elite against righty pitching and make for very difficult outs. The Nats should have one of the higher implied run lines on this Friday slate.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Brandon Finnegan (Reds)
Park - Chase Field

Both teams in tonight's Diamondbacks/Reds game are projected right around five runs a piece making them excellent stacking options. I lean the home team today as the Diamondbacks lead the league in wOBA(.350) and isolated power(.207) against left handed pitching. They get a pretty good matchup tonight against Brandon Finnegan who has been good when limiting the walks which hasn't been very often. He comes into Friday with a 4.45 BB/9 rate and 5.12 xFIP while giving up a 37.6% hard contact rate this season. You're going to want to start your lineup with Paul Goldschmidt who leads the team with a .459 wOBA and 186 wRC+ against left handed pitching. It also appears Yasmany Tomas is back after making two PA last night which is good news as he also crushes lefties with a .429 wOBA and 165 wRC+. Don't forget about Wellington Castillo who has really started to heat up lately and is just another D Back who destroys southpaws.
