A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Chicago Cubs vs. Jimmy Nelson (Brewers)
Park - Wrigley Field

The Chicago Cubs are going to start us off here as out stop stack of the night. They take on the Milwaukee Brewers and the number 4 starter, Jimmy Nelson. Jimmy Nelson has been a prospect over the last few years, and has not played out very well. Against both lefties and righties, Nelson has given up a .344 wOBA that is backed up by some very telling peripheral stats. Aside from the poor wOBA, he has sported a 5.11 xFIP and a 34.6% hard contact rate. The Cubs offer a ton of power and speed, which is a very rare combo for a team to possess. Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo are going to be in every Cubs stack I throw out there, but will then mix and match everyone else. Wrigley Field is very dependent on wind speed and direction, so make sure to keep an eye out for both of those. I do see the merit in using a sneaky stack because the Cubs will be high owned and the lineup has the ability to produce from any spot.

Main Stack - Dexter Fowler, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist
Sneaky Stack - Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, Willson Contreras

Baltimore Orioles vs. Blake Snell (Rays)
Park - Camden Yards

I absolutely love the Orioles tonight. I expect them to be very low owned, as people tend to think Blake Snell is a very big up and coming prospect. Snell has struggled against righties with a .337 wOBA that is backed up by a crazy 28.7% line drive rte and a 36% hard contact rate. The Orioles, like the Cubs, have a ton of power and can hit the ball out anywhere. Camden Yards is one of the best parks in the league for both right handed power and left handed power bats. While I don't think they will be highly owned, I do see the merit in a sneaky stack because the power comes out from a bunch of different players. Manny Machado and Mark Trumbo have been the best hitters for the Baltimore Orioles against lefties, and will continue to be that for the rest of the season. I refer the stack more on FanDuel as the homer is worth more and the "nickel and dime" offense is not valued as much.

Main Stack - Manny Machado, Mark Trumbo, Adam Jones, Jonathan Schoop
Sneaky Stack - Manny Machado, Mark Trumbo, Chris Davis, Matt Wieters

  1. The wind is blowing in from right at about 8-10 mph at Wrigley. Does this change your outlook on the Cubs at all?
